I met a guy the other night who doesnt go by the astology we speak of....he said "it is Babylonian and they are all fighting anyway".....but he is very into the Chinese astro and told me I being a dog am very compatible with the horse.....I believe in it myself, the chinese are an astute race of people arent they?

I also think that it depends on what type of astrology we are comfortable with and that is what we will end up using. You have to "feel" a connection to it, regardless of whether it is chinese, vedic, magi or traditional.

He is a Wood Cat or Rabbit born December 1975!

It says we are Opposites and do not get along! I spent the whole day with him and his Dad last week and it turns out his Dad is a Taurus Fire Rooster born in 1957. Possibly he is used to the Rooster types but I am much more easy going, Nice, Kind and Mellow than his dad. I can be very picky but that's the Rooster Virgo energy and this guy has Ascendant in Virgo!

I know what you mean about someone your supposed to be compatible with in Western astrology is a poor match in Chinese astrology. Actually Chinese astrology is has more depth than the year and whether it your wood, metal, fire, water...

What you need to do, if you are both serious about being together, is look at ALL your aspects - good and bad - and then discuss them.

For example - I was engaged to a Taurus and we have a horrible Mercury (his) opposition Sun (mine) and well as My moon opposes his Pluto. We had struggles with communication and control.

I did our charts and we talked about them at first, but he was UNWILLING to work on those issues. So even though we had all these wonderful soul mate aspects we still couldn't make it.

You have to look at YOUR personality as well as HIS. I could be in love with a Leo that is also a Snake by chinese astro. Since I am an Earth Rooster Saggie he should be my dream boat right? What if he has inter-chart issues that keep him from admitting any problems in his own? Say he has a Moon-Neptune square and is a pathological liar yet me being a Sag, I demand honesty. Do you think any astro is going to save us if he isn't going to make the effort.

What if the table were reversed and I had an early childhood where infidelity was the norm? Astro isn't going to smooth that out.

His Birthday is 12/19/1975 born approx 11:48 PM he is a Sag Sun w/ Virgo Ascendant, Venus Scorpio, mars Gemini, and Mercury Capricorn and Moon in Cancer! He is a Wood Rabbit/Cat, don't know the rest! I have Sun Venu and Pluto in Virgo, Cancer Ascendant, Libra Mercury and Jupiter and Capricorn Mars w/ an Aquarius Moon! We seem very comptible!

My chinese rooster says I am an Earth Rooster ruled by Virgo w/ Ascendant Rat.

So there you have it. This might be why you get along despite the opposite sign business.

My Chinese sign hardly fits me at all, but the ascendant does. I would take all of this with a grain of salt.

My man and me together 16 years, I wouldnt say astro wise we are very compatible, but we are mad about each other......the ups and downs....the rollercoast rides.....warts and all.....we have stayed together and enjoy a fulfilling life together.....and funnily enough the things that are opposite to the other have taught us to meet half way......so maybe sometimes astrology shouldnt be taken too seriously.....intent is important isnt it!!!

99,9% of the Chinese Astrology websites and thin paperbacks sold in news stands out there are lousy.

I read those websites and felt dizzy. I thought the webmasters found themselves with too much time in their hands. So, why not put up a Chinese Zodiac website picking things at random, without any criteria, just for fun?

Bad translations from Chinese to English abound. Most of the websites for Chinese Astrology are copies of each other.
