I read a lot of BS about Virgos. Anyone else experience this? They're all neat-freak, health nut, anal retentive virgins? I don't think so!

So if we were to collect our observations and write a new description, what would be your contribution?

If this thread sinks down to the bottom with a zero, I'm going to bump it!

Let's go!

Quick in wits and actions. Very eager to help out, when someone has a practical problem that can be fixed.

They're funnnny, very funnny

They drive like crazy ppl and usualy know a lot about cars.

When they're in your family, they constantly give you presents and money for no particular reason lol (maybe this is the leo in the virgo charts I know)

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Virgo is obsessed with sex. This means if that if you know how to trteat a Virgo the way he/she likes, there could be a very sweet pay-off.

I have to admit, with my Virgo rising, a guy can relly repell me with bad hygiene, apparently poor health or lack of personal care, but can you blame me???? Who wants to be with someone who doesn't respect themselves? I would think that goes for anyone, Virgoans and non-Virgoan - it's just the Virgoans are more likely to make a fuss about it.

Virgos are good at b*tching. Not quite as flashy as Gems, but d*mn impressive and often they can b*tch with more creditablity. If they have good cause to b*tch you over something, RUN. If you ever need to complain to a manager over merchendise or service, get your Virgo pal to do it for you - they get *results.*

And fuss all you want about Virgo stereotypes, they are good at the details because they're paying attention when everyone else isn't. This can be immensely handy for a number of things. It can also be quite annoying, but you know, it's a trade off. Someone's got keep all the flakes in line.

They like to drink! A lot! They're loud and sometimes obnoxious drunks.

Female Virgos I've been around in real life have a lot to say about themselves. One even tells you the same story regardless of how many times you've heard it. Maybe it's a compulsion to constantly define themselves.

I think GemNymph is on to something with the sex at least for the males. One Virgo I used to work for was always angling for new sex partners. Another was said to have been cheating on his wife (which I can reasonably suspect from a call I got one morning regarding a flower delivery followed by an ambiguous call from the Virgo likely doing damage control). Female Virgos seem a bit or a lot more picky.

Virgos generally have rhythm, and can dance. Some are musical. Some are a bit stylish.

afraid of things being wrong that they can't fix too, at times.. infact there is a lot of general fear of "things" with a few of the virgos i know.
it kills them to think they can't fix things, personal problems above all! you can't be task orientated without a task!

hrm.. did that make sence?

Virgos are extremely intelligent. And as was noted earlier, they make excellent counselors, because of the perfect, practical advice they give.

The constellation of Virgo actually shows her with wings!! which somehow have gotten lost in our descriptions of her. But she is an angel brought down to earth. This sign rules one of the health houses and they are wonderful healers if they put their energies in this direction.

I am a natal virgo with 4 planets in virgo as well

cool self-possesion
Diffident
cautious more than critical
highly sensual
discriminate
brings order out of chaos
engage the mind- the heart will follow
Precise in labors- literal in approach
Clever
Quick-witted
Trenchent mental powers
Physical intelligence

Virgos desire to feel cherished and needed.
When our love-life is lacking, we tend to compensate through overwork.
No denying that intellectual accomplishments can pick up our spirits like a dry martini- there is nothing better than being in love to give our life luster.
We seek expansion through love- a quick mind- a considerate soul are first to attract us and it is ironic that we find love when we least expect it, since its the one area of our lives that we can't plan , order or organize......

Thanks for this thread-
It's hard being misunderstood.

I've come across people who reckon Virgos are so neat and tidy people.. as a Virgo myself, I personally believe in order within chaos (I wouldn't have it any other way) To the untrained eye (lol) it may look like a bomb site, but I know where everything... well I know it's in there somewhere lol

Virgos perhaps appear as a cold unemotional and a very analytical person to others, but deep inside (perhaps often the Virgoian is not aware of that sentimental side) there's a romantic dreamer, but like hell she'd let anyone into her little safe haven, until she absolutely trusts (think 99.9% as she also believes in perfection) that outsider.

Virgos don't go by facts, they follow intuition and experiences, that way they understand and experience things for themselves so they know what they're yabbering about to other people... perhaps very frustrating for other people watching seeing them making mistakes in life that they could have been warned about.

Work is not all so important to them, what really matters is life.

Twentytwenty, your posts did make sense. I like the part about needing a task to be task oriented.

Lauren, I would definitely agree with funny. They're absolutely hilarious, aren't they? They have this way of mixing precise observation with cynicism/ sarcasm and yet sounding very sweet when they do it! Like it takes you a minute to realize that what they said was really horrible. Do you get this too?

Gemini Nymph, I think you're right about the sex obsession thing. It takes a little work to get them to trust you enough, but when they do, LOOK OUT! (They only come across as sweet and innocent at first!) I think you're also right about the b*tching thing. They aren't as flashy, but if they're complaining it's usually over something real and not imagined and they'll let you know just how inconvenient/rude/hurtful you've been!

Acoustic God... the drinking thing. That also seems to be true. This takes me back to the idea that Virgos are supposed to be so health conscious, but the majority of the Virgos I know can really put back their drink... while smoking pack after pack of cigarettes. I think it makes sense that the nervous Virgo energy would lead to these two things... And the dancing thing... I haven't really been around a lot of Virgos on the dance floor, but the ones I have danced with surprised me... I never expected them to get on the floor in the first place, then they tear it up!

*Quick story* (Or intermission)

In August my bf and I both had our class reunions and at the end of the night both parties ended up at the same bar. At one point the DJ (who happened to be my ex bf) played Michael Jackson's "The Way You Make Me Feel." Well, my Virgo honey drags me up to the otherwise empty dance floor and does this crazy dance around me IN FRONT OF EVERYONE!!! and every time the song goes "You knock me off my feet," he throws himself onto his back on the floor, arms and legs waving in the air. And this is a VIRGO! I wanted to die!

On with it...

Whiterabbit, do you think the boys are obsessive in love? I've seen this, but it always comes in a quiet, brooding sort of way... like they'll pine over the same girl for years, but never really let her know. Is this your experience too?

Suzyque, I would agree with you 100%. I think it comes down to that Virgo need for absolute trust. I think deep down they know they have something really special to give, but they're not about to just give that to anyone, and it seems to me that if they never find that person, instead of feeling like they're not good enough, they assume that it's the rest of the world who doesn't measure up to their high standards.

Devi, Virgos are very intelligent! They can pick a subject apart and dig into it like no other! As long as it's a subject that interests them. If not, it seems to me that they won't even bother with it. Interesting about the Virgo wings. They do seem to shine when it comes to taking care of someone who is elderly, ill, or otherwise incapacitated.

Stargazer, thanks so much for your post. You certainly have enough qualifications to give the rest of us an inside scoop on the elusive Virgo nature! I like what you wrote... it looks like for all the stereotypical Virgo traits, there is a flip-side... perhaps one of the biggest Virgo traits is that, like Mercury-ruled cousin Gemini, they are easily misunderstood.

Lykaios, thanks also for your post. It's good to hear from you Virgos. It sounds like you, too, know what it feels like to be misunderstood. I like what you said about the romantic dreamer lurking in the Virgo heart. Yet another reason to be patient with these gentle souls.

Beth, do you have a moon in Virgo? What are your insights?

Yay! See, we're understanding better already, aren't we? (Virgos?? What do you think??)

Yeah i have moon in virgo...and alot of people i know do too... i must admit i am extremely fussy on organisation...My documents must be filed i can't stand it if it's messy! But tidiness well my moon is square my uranus so that can get in the way, but i love a clean everything (although i can put up with living in chaos)... i also get fussy with eating the right foods! i hate proccessed muck...I eat fresh organic types, that makes me feel wonderful! But most of all it manifests in being picky about life in general...which i could pick away for hours but i won't.......

I have Moon in Virgo, too, and I can read the descriptions, but I still don't fathom what my Moon means to me. Mine's also at the 29th degree, though, so maybe that has something to do with it.

AG, I read something once that helped me understand the moon's energy better: (maybe I read it here... I'm not sure)but if you think about how you or someone else acts when not completely comfortable, what you're seeing is moon engery.

From what I understand, the ascendent is how we try to appear to others, but by observing others superficially it may be easier to learn their moon signs.

I don't know... it seems to work for me so far.

CNO 732, I like the way you think! Are you a Virgo? Would you say that if you see a Virgo's kinky side they're either completely in love with you or plan to never see/speak to you again? LOL.

Beth, it sounds like you fit a lot of the stereotypes. Where is your sun? How do you feel about the observations on this thread?

Scorp, Virgo moon... what's your ascendant?

No not really any loose threads... I suppose we are mis-understood in ways...But i also feel that virgo's can be critical to the point where it gets picky...If something is not perfect or to their liking they tend to moan a bit...I certainly know thats what i do...and many of the Virgo Sun, Moon, and Ascendent....
My knowledge is limited so i can only offer thumb nails really...
Capricorn ascendent

Beth, I have Sag rising, but my first house is Capricorn, so I feel I identify with Cap rising quite a bit... I wonder if wanting things to be to your liking is a Cap thing? I get that way, too and I don't have any Virgo stuff going on.

Alanabelle... I also feel like I am literally surrounded by Virgos. I probably have more friends/family/aquaintences(sp) who are Virgos (or strongly Virgo influenced) than all the other signs combined. I haven't noticed the teeth thing. I have noticed that they notice other people's teeth though.
What is your sign?
