Yep, this is definitely my sister and my dad. My sister has sun at 0 or 1 degrees Pisces and I can see both Aqua and Pisces. She 's very airy at times (or is that her gem moon?). And then she has those creative streaks. My dad has is sun at 28 degrees Cancer and yes, I can see both Cancer and Leo in hm as well.....and not always in the best ways. IP: Logged |

Interesting. I'm at 0 degs Taurus b/w that and Aries. I always thought it was either you are this sign, or you aren't, but I guess not, huh? Well, I read the Sun in Aries description on cafeastro, and I guess *some* of it makes sense. But I'm def no athlete."Nothing gets them going more than a fresh slate, the promise of a new day, and a brand new start." That sounds nice. IP: Logged |

I’ve noticed this with a few late Gemini…they feel more Cancer. Maybe it’s a late degree thang

You know, if you look into Linda Goodman's writing you'll find that she did not believe in cusps. There's a section about that in 'Love Signs'. I have moon at 29 degrees of cancer and I must say that I agree with Linda. There is not a drop of Leo in my moon (I wish there was though, then I would probably be a lot more confident). My mars is in Leo, but that only expresses itself when I feel impassioned (mars) by something. The cancer moon, on the other hand, is an everyday experience. I'm often tearful and sensitive. I feel too vulnerable for my own good, so my instinct is to hide and protect myself. Very cancerish. I also have Venus at 29 degrees of Sag, and I do tend to express my affections in a firey way and feel that it's very important to be with someone who shares the same moral code as myself. My venus is very Sag-like, however it's also Cap-like in that I'm conservative about love and believe in monogamy, faithfulness and marriage. But thats because (surprise, surprise) it happens to be trine to saturn at zero degrees of Virgo. The point being that a planet is either in one sign or another. Once the sun goes over zero degrees that is it. There is no mixing of signs at the cusp unless perhaps you were born on the exact moment of the change. If, say, you are a Capricorn but you also feel a little like an Aquarius, it's probably because you have mercury or venus in Aqua to go with you sun, or maybe a strong 11th house, or uranus strong in your chart. I know two capricorns like this. One was born on the cusp and thought that she was a Cap/Aqua mix because of this, she said she had always felt kind of Aqua as well. I knew this couldn't be because of the cusp thing, so I looked up her data and low and behold she hand moon in Aqua. The other one was not a cusp but she did seem more like an Aqua then a Cap, we checked her chart and she had moon and venus in Aqua, venus trine uranus, and a stellinium in the 11th house...go figure... I am at the opposite end of the spectrum. My sun is at 5 degrees of capricorn, yet I also have some definate Sag traits...if I didn't know any better I would assume that it was because my sun was pretty early in capricorn and close to Sag. But, you guessed it, it's really because I have my Asc, mercury, venus and Neptune all in Sag and Jupiter sextile to saturn, giving a nice balance to how my Cap and Sag traits mix. A lot of people like the idea of sign mixing at the cusp, because it sounds kind of cool be be calling yourself a Libra/Scorpio and what not. But 9 times out of 10, the rest of a persons chart can explain personality contradictions much better then any sun sign cusp placement. If you really want to explore the subtle nuances degree placement within a sign check out decans and dwaads. There is a book by Sasha Fenton called 'the Hidden Zodiac' which nicely explains how each sign can be diveded into three sections called decans, and that each decan can be further divided into four dwaads, each of which give subtones to how a planet expresses itself. For example, someone with sun at 28 degrees of Aries would have there sun in the Sag decan, and the Pisces dwaad of that sign. Meaning, that their sun sign personality would be infulenced by a lot of Aries (sign), a moderate amount of Sag(decan), and a little bit of Pisces(dwaad). I have used this method on myself and others and the results have been very insightful. Actually, decans and dwaads are part of the reason why I don't believe in sign mixing at the cusp. If the zodiac is so specific that it's influnce changes every two and a half degrees, there is simply no room left for fuzzyness during sign transition. The zodiac is a very finely tuned, detailed thing not something sloppy and vauge...read the section on cusps in 'Love Signs' for Linda's point of view. She said that in natal placements there is no cusp experience as these are fixed and unchangable positions, but that with progressions and transits you can sometimes feel the next sign coming, because it is moving and that in this case you can feel the energy moving toward you. ------------------ Cappadora IP: Logged |

I am very much with Cappadora on this. I am a double cuspy type:Sun Aquarius 00°10'16 Moon Cancer 29°34'50 As you can see, but I do not feel like a Cappy. In fact my Cancer Moon, which I would also prefer to have some Leo influence, seems to be much more dominant than even my Aqua Sun. The Aqua is there, but that Moon rules my chart, IMO. I read somewhere that it is because it is in the 12th house...I dunno. IP: Logged |

yeah, that does make sense. i've read about that. i'm just not that knowledgable on astrology just yet to figure out why i feel more pisces than aries.i do have aries traits, but i'm not sure if it's from my sag moon or not. i figure the reasons i gave above would make sense as to why i feel confused about what i should identify with. i feel as if aries isn't a very good description of my personality at all. i'm also not sure what all goes about making the physical appearances but i also have almost all pisces physical traits and my rising sign is not pisces. anyway, all very interesting. definitely something i'm going to read up on. For me Im Pisces Sun 1'57" and Cap Moon 27'20" -- but yea, its funny cos people always think Im an Aqua, or Virgo [Pisces opposite sign -- no virgo in the chart tho].
Oh and for the late degrees of a sign: Traditional astrology states that the further[farther?] along a planet is in a sign the more "past life" experience you have with it meaning the more you know the ins and outs of dealing with that type of energy. And whether or not cusps have any real relevance I find it fascinating that they're attracted to each other, more than to people who are born in mid degrees of a sign. IP: Logged |

O my God! Cuspers really are attracted to eachother. I know about three guys off the bat that are cuspers that my sister has been interested in in the past. My dad is now married to a cusper too. Taurus/gem to be exact. IP: Logged |

I notice that cusps start at 26 degrees. Does it have to be exactly 26 degrees or is there some flexibility here? My sun is at 25'55", Merc is at 27 degrees and Neptune is at 28 degrees. If there truly is a Sag influence, then it would explain my love of sports/fitness and the uncontrollable urge to always be traveling even if I don't go out of state. Plus, I suffer terribly from foot-in-mouth disease. I have an "attack" daily!

Sorry for the double post, but I forgot to mention I read somewhere about how cusp births are a family trait. In other words, it's rare to find just one person in a family born on a cusp. Anybody else notice if this holds true?My dad was born on the Gem/Can cusp, my brother and aunt on the Cap/Aqua cusp and my dad's mom was born on the Scorp/Sag cusp. IP: Logged |

I'm a big believer in cusps, because even though I'm a triple Aquarius, my Sun is sitting on the Aquarius/Pisces cusp. Even though I have a lot of Pisces/Neptune influencs elsewhere, I don't feel anything like an Aquarius at all. Which is wierd but you know. Another big thing that's convinced me is all the stuff I've read about Aquarius/Pisces cusp. One of the links provided above are an excellent example. Now I know nobody really cares but I'm gonna go ahead and rant anyway cause, hell, I have nothing better to do with my life anyway. quote: STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS : They are caring, concerned and success-oriented. The weakness is that they are often afraid of getting hurt, they are feel insecure and isolated.
A big issue I've been struggling with, especially lately, is feeling insecure and isolated. I've decided to stay away from relationships because of this. quote: ADVICE FOR THEM : Don’t give up on the world or retreat behind fences. If necessary tear obstructions down to rediscover your sensitive self. Learning to trust may mean ceasing to fear. Without denying your need to explore the depths and the heights, take the middle road more often.
Heheheh, that's good advice, but forget fences, I've already built a brick wall around me. I know all about my sensitivety, but I'm not gonna stop being afraid, so I'm screwed for life. The End. ~Rebekka IP: Logged |

Actually, your sun and moon in the 12th plus your pisces rising may have more to do with you feeling like a pisces...I don't think it has much to do with you being born on the cusp.I'm starting to go back to the belief that your either one sign or the other. I realized that my sister may seem Aquaish because she has mercury in aqua and an air moon. IP: Logged |

Yeah I've considered that, Dulce Luna, but since I have so much other Pisces/Neptune in my chart I guess we'll never know why I'm so messed up. Or maybe that's exactly why.

I truely believe in cusps. I don`t accept the theory that signs are devided by strict borders, there`s not such thing in the sky!! We, people, devided the sky by 12 and drew the lines between each sign! I am a cusper myself and my father is a cusper too (he`s 29'Aqua). All my life, we in our family, knew he was a Pisces, he`s the absolute typical Pisces head to toe (no other planets in Pisces in his chart). Only recently when he found out his exact birth time, it turned out he was a 29'Aqua! No way! IP: Logged |

One thing I've noticed is that cuspers will usually have strong personal planets/influences in the sign following that which their sun is actually in. (ie. A gem/cancer cusper with a cancer rising/moon/venus/etc.) And that usually explains why they feel more like the sign that comes after them. Is this coincidence?IP: Logged |

My sun is 0 degrees Pisces and I am incredibly Pisces on the inside. I do have some Aqua planets, but they are an outer shell. A funny story: When I was little I was told I was an Aquarius, based on my birth date, so I picked out the "Aquarius" book from the school library. I was SOOOOO jealous of my best friends, who got to pick out the "Pisces" book. I wanted to be a Pisces so badly -- I read that book and felt it was a much better description of me. Years later, I discovered I was a Pisces after all. Mystery solved. IP: Logged | |
