All those years ago when I asked my mother about my birth time ( nothing to do with astrology - just wanted to know when I could officially celebrate my B day ) I assumed it was the correct time…not an estimate…if you can even call it that!! Damn her annoying Pisces Moon.
It’s funny, I actually discovered this myself…while rummaging though our old stuff trying to find something else…
Isn’t that the way it always is?
I didn’t tell her…I hate arguing. I might tell her…but she probably wont care - she feels astrology is a waste of time

Well…I guess on some level I knew my ascendant couldn’t be Aries. I can be aggressive…but not when we first meet!

Plus this whole thing has changed my houses.

I no longer have an 8th house Jupiter it’s now in the 9th. Actually…………this explains why I pass exams even tho I rarely study.

And my Mercury is now in the 12th and not 11th.

I think the thing that’s scaring me the most…is my Saturn and Pluto are in the 8th why do I have a bad feeling…….

AND my Moon is in the 7th.

I think the ONLY thing that makes sense - is my Uranus in the 9th. The whole rejecting your upbringing and beliefs thing - incredibly accurate.

I have so much reading to do - no idea what half this stuff means.

*sigh* guess I can’t be in the Aries rising club with sue, cancerrg & Blue moon

Anyways I’m off…lots of love...
and thanks for listening

As a Cancer, it hurts me to say this, but mothers are sometimes wrong too...

I know a guy who always thought he was a Leo until he found his sun was in Virgo... He said "I would have preferred to be told that I was adopted..."

Awww don't be

I would be happy to get rid of my old Cappy Rising lol and Sun/Uranus opposition on IC/MC line!

Please post your old and new stats, I'd love to have a look at your charts

Waternymph- what do you think about your moon in the 7th house?
I think that is an interesting placement. Where was your moon before?

This reminds me of the time when me and my best friend were younger (like 9 or 10) and she believed she was a Pisces, as opposed to Aries. When I told her she was wrong, she was SO upset! But she is such an Aries is is quite ridiculous. Her only piseces is her venus.

After you learn all the aspects of your chart, I bet you'll feel much better!

By the way, my mom didn't even remember whether my b-day was on a Tuesday or Thursday when I was born! (Ok, it's not as bad, but still. Turns out I was born on lovely Friday the 13th, but I digress.)

Now I am wondering where Hot got their chart done according to vedic astrology? IS there a chart calculator online??

Sorry to hear this. I've been thinking about how when we learn a lot about astrology we start to over-identify with our charts..and also do this with other people in our lives..

I mean, you're still the person you are WN..and that Saturn or Pluto in the 8th isn't gona make you some sort of psycho just because an interpretation somewhere says so..

Just making sure you know that

PS And if you thought your Jupiter in the 8th description rang true THEN it most probably IS true of your character

whether Jupiter was actually there or not

naah,I got it done by a professional astrologer....me in india,so all of them here follow the vedic format...

But i think you can do it in astro.com,try the extended chart selection...and play around, you have a lot of choices there...

I think there's a 23 degree backward shift in the ascendant, and the positions of a few planets changed aswell...

We who have English as a second language get very confused between tuesdays and thursdays... But I think that was not your mother's case...

Thanks you guys - I guess it‘s ok… altho now my Moon squares Jupiter & Uranus…nice.

Pop wow that’s worse than me! I’m assuming he found out as an adult…oh my gosh I woulda lost my mind.

Peri I’ll post my stuff on the next post

Hot ice, no Pisces rising - actually I would have preferred Taurus.

Gemini rising - I thought my Moon was in the 6th.
What’s it like - well I guess it explains why emotional security is so important to me. But I hide it well I play detached…but my gosh I can’t stand being alone. I know it sounds bad…that’s why I hide it.

“I've been thinking about how when we learn a lot about astrology we start to over-identify with our charts..and also do this with other people in our lives..”

That’s very true Lauren…I’m still me - a little confused granted…but still me.

“and that Saturn or Pluto in the 8th isn't gona make you some sort of psycho just because an interpretation somewhere says so..”

I’m supposed to be a psycho?!?!?!?! jk it’s cool hun…I don’t believe everything I read anyway - not unless it makes me take a step back and think “whoa!” and not many things can do that.

It’s absolutely incredible…she was exactly two hours off that’s my mum for ya. She still gets confused whether my sister was born mid-day or mid-night

OK I know this sounds weird…but showing my chart makes me feel like I’m standing naked in front of you all I’d feel less nervous actually.
So NO critical eyes...you all hear?

Wrong one with Aries rising

Pisces asc

I would think a first house Mars and Venus (in Aries, no less, lol!) makes you a hell of a lot more openly aggressive and seductive than a 12th house M & V. Did you ever experience doubt about your time of birth on account of this or anything else?? This is really interesting...

Yes. I experienced doubt concerning a lot of things in my chart. When it came to the 12th house Mars and Venus - I was just confused - the thing is…I only started studying astrology ( seriously ) less than a year ago. So that might explain my confusion
But I’m not seductive not directly anyway

*edited to add

I just realised something.

I mentioned a few times in these boards that I feel like a Libra. Doesn’t Venus in the 1st give you traits of Libra?

I see... But on not being seductive -- this just comes across in the first house, without your consciously doing anything. It does NOT mean you walk around with your bra straps slipping off your shoulders, lol!

I guess my idea of seductive is pretty fixed - I think of either an old Hollywood starlet or someone walking around with nothing but underwear ( see I do that - but not outdoors )

I'm sorry for the disappointing news.

Just out of curiosity: what house system are you using? (Edit: Placidus, I see!) Perhaps you can consult a few alternatives for a second opinion about those unsatisfactory planet placements?

My ascendant degree is technically at the end of Libra, but I am very obviously a Scorpio rising, and my planetary positions only make sense with the Scorp ascendant. It's important to remember that not only can mothers be wrong about birth times, but technology is also fallible and watches and clocks often will be off by several minutes, making a world of difference for us cusp babies. In my case, I consulted both Placidus and Equal systems and determined that the planetary positions for Equal were more correctly representative of myself.

my mom is a pisces as well and I never believe her 100% until she has proof, so I am just waiting for the day she tells me she found my birthcertificate and I was really born at night instead of in the a.m.

Awww.... just to let you know my thoughts are with ya, WN!
I know whow you feel, I almost lost my mind when I thought I might have been Aqua ascedant when i identify so much with my Cappie one. I suppose it's not that bad for you seeing as you had doubts.

Sometimes, your own personal judgement can shatter the illusion incorrect interpretations will give you! Which I think's pretty darn inspirational!
astro.com told me I was Venus in Virgo but I looked up the interpretation and didn't identify at all, persevered and eventually found out it was wrong and I am Leo Venus, after all!
So, I guess stuff works out for the best if you now have your correct details.

I'd have to say with all this drama and misplaced critcism toward your mother, Pisces rising and a 7th house Virgo moon is definitely more fitting.

If you had doubts, you could have just acquired your birth certificate. Don't blame your mother when you could have taken it upon yourself to confirm your own birth time. Surely, had your moon been in the 6th, you would have done that, rather than carry on some weird, codependent emotional drama like this. I have a 7th house Pisces moon, and thank the stars I also have an 6th house Aqua Mars with Virgo rising - I research everything and don't take anyone's word unless they've proven they are believeable.

I also doubt you actually reject your upbringing - if you did, you wouldn't give a rat's *ass what your mother thought about things like astrology. You DO care, and apparently it's a huge unresolved issue you need to address (speaking frankly as one 7th house moon to another), or your mother's influencee on you will always hold you down. I suspect you wish you could reject your unbringing, but feel powerless to do so. So instead you simply *believe* you have (very Piscean). The truth is more likely you are deeply resentful of your mother's power over you andwill be as long as you don't confront that.

Sorry, but I'm just not in a very sympathetic mood. You can damn my Pisces moon if you wish. I don't care (Uranus singleton in the 1st - viva astrology!).

Water - ditto over here. Thought half my life I was Leo rising, turns out it was Cancer. Disappointed, but dealing with it - LoL (why are we so damn eager to be represented in a better light, when really it makes no difference to who we really are?)

It was funny, but for a while, all of the online astro programs were saying Leo Rising to me and then it's like they all became 'accurate' at the same time and changed it to Cancer. I have no idea what shifted, it was the weirdest thing, it's like they all 'wisened up' on me at the same time. Best of luck to you in accepting yourself as you really are.

Azal - I'll join Mars in 1st.

My mom is Cancer, so she pretty much remembers everything from my birth time to what color shoes my dad was wearing that afternoon. I also looked at my birth certificate.

The thing is, you're the same person you've always been. Having different astrological placements can't change who you are and who you have always been. Look at astrology as a guide instead of a life sentence (for the perceived "negative" aspects). Astrology serves as a useful tool for self exploration. It is guide to the psychological aspect of personality. You thought you had a different chart and you examined yourself through that filter and found things that fit and things that didn't. Now you have a new filter through which to explore yourself. Anything new in your chart that you see as negative was always there; nothing has changed except your perception.

Not every aspect is set in stone, nor will everything manifest in a negative way. These are potentials and tendencies that exist, not absolutes. The natal chart is a complex mix of every sign, planet, and house. And this mix is unique to each individual. One aspect might suggest you're one way, another in your chart might suggest the opposite. Things balance each other out. "Negatives" don't always manifest in a strong way - postives can outweigh the negatives, particularly with concious intention.

If you're learning new things to look at in yourself because your chart is different, if you're looking at challenging aspects that you feel negative or fearful about, try to see the positive in it. The challenges are opportunities to grow. And if you study the aspects and learn about them and learn to recognize how they might manifest in you and in your life, you're forewarned about that potential and tendency and you then have the opportunity to conciously watch for that in yourself. You will become more informed and can therefore make more concious choices on how you behave, act, react, etc.
