Using Placidus (my preferred house system) Virgo rules the 8th house of my chart, Mercury, Virgo's ruling planet, is in my 3rd house... I just want to know if it's right (because I'm confused) to conclude that the ruler of my 8th is therefore in the 3rd. I have a natal report of my chart I purchased a while ago online that's used Tropical Koch for its interpretations and it says my 8th's ruler is in the 4th, but even with the different system (which I'm aware can alter things a bit) I can't understand why they'd put the ruler in the 4th when, again, my 8th house is ruled by Virgo and its planet, Mercury, falls in the 3rd. I think the report might be mistaken, am I right?...IP: Logged |

Hello Angel, They most probably used a different house system than Placidus which you have mentioned, Tropical Koch, it usually makes a difference in Houses, sometimes planets fall borderline, like end of 3rd when using a certain system, so they interpret as fourth, and so on and so forth. It is not mistaken as far as the system is concerned but if you are comfortable with Placidus try to order reports than only use Placidus. What is your mercury degree in the 3rd maybe this will explain things? I hope this helps. Peace, IP: Logged |

Hi NM! Thanks so much for replying! My Mercury - using either system, Placidus or Koch, it's solidy placed in the 3rd house at 4 degrees 58 minutes in Taurus. Aries rules the 3rd's cusp at 18 degrees 11 minutes... perhaps my Scorpio MC/Taurus IC has something to do with the confusion... it's positioned at 17 degrees 11 minutes under either system as well... that said, is my 8th in the 3rd or 4th?... Very confusing indeed! I am not sure if the MC/IC has anything to do with it, but perhaps so. My best guess is that your 8th ruler is in your third not fourth!Concerning the MC/IC, I don't know how that could confuse things, but maybe so, maybe someone with more experience can help here, i would love to help on that, but my knowledge stops there, Angel. Thanks for getting back to me again NM, and for trying to help me figure this thing out too. I would THINK it's in the 3rd house as well... could someone else more exprienced on the board just confirm or deny that for me? IP: Logged |
