Hey y'all. I'm new here. I love the fact that there is a place where people can talk about REAL objective astrology, rahter than that pop-horoscope BS that you find in newspapers and websites. Anyways, as far is a career is concerned, I'm not quite sure where I want to go. I was wondering if any of you guys could have a look at it and help me decipher my options... Hi! Welcome!

I'm no astrologer, but if I can remember tonight I'll put your info through a program I have and see what it might indicate career-wise. I think there are generally a few areas a person is strong in, so in the end it's about what you feel you can do and want to do.

Just started looking. I hadn't noticed before your dual stelliums. One in Sag and the other in Scorp.

This (The Instant Astrologer) says that your unaspected Sun, "can pose difficulty in marshalling your talents and forces. It can therefore be some time before you do what you want to do for yourself, rather than responding purely to what you feel is expected of you."

"A strong alternative to this however, can be that you feel entirely free to follow your own star, without paying any heed at all to what others want of you. If you're this type, you could become noted for your originality, but somehow still remain an enigma. John F. Kennedy is a good example of this."

"If you have difficulty in establishing your own will and living with a sense of conscious purpose, try deliberately involving yourself with the affairs of the House in which your Sun is placed."

Your Sun is in the 5th House, so you could involve yourself in professions a Leo is good at.

"All of this is most likely to center upon the means and products of your creative expression. This would involve things like pastimes, romance, children, art, speculation, drama, partying, etc...

...The making of something or someone is your essential quality. To you the world really is a stage, so the power and ability to play is vital."

Wow. Thanks Acousticgod! A man I consider to be holy once told me-"you can become whatever you want to be". Sometime later, another person who I consider to have a lot of spiritual power said-"You would do best in a field where you are self-employed". Seriously. I didn't tell them anything beforehand either. This fits your description perfectly. Note also that Uranus is in the 6th house.

Sure Prox, but you'll have to give me a little time. I'm getting distracted frequently tonight.

No worries - it was an impulse thing.

Here's to hoping that the distraction is a good one.

Ok oddball,

This may be the good stuff:

Pisces at the Midheaven

"Pisces is open to many interpretations and can come in many disguises. Because of this your professional life is hard to identify unless you have already focused upon one of the more typical careers of this Sign: music, dance, healing, chemistry, cosmetics, visual art or anything that is mystical or glamorous, or has to do with the sea.

You can lose your career path through being undone and side tracked by drugs or alcohol or 'wool gathering' generally. On the other hand, your public position may be involved in dealing with or in these issues.

...

Generally speaking, Pisces here poses careers that have to do with enlightening (art and entertainment) or relieving (medicine and healing). Also, something that involves compassion and reaches out to the suffering masses: the caring professions.

The House and Aspects of Neptune in your chart will give further and possibly more precise clues as to the nature of your career and public position. Hard aspects to Neptune would indicate difficulties and confusion in finding or keeping a position; too many Soft Aspects could mean laziness and a lack of objectives. A balance of Hard and Soft Aspects is most favorable with slippery Neptune."

-----

Your Neptune is in the 6th House. The 6th House is ruled by Virgo. Virgo is most often associated with health careers and research if I'm not mistaken. Right now, I personally believe you are going to be healing people in some way. I think you may be creative in how you go about it.

Venus conjunct Neptune is your Soft Aspect, and Neptune Opposition Ascendant is your Hard Aspect. Hopefully, those create the balance it talked about.

OK, but only because you included a red heart in the heading of the post

(OK, seriously, I'm actually quite curious...I'll take any computer read-out with a grain of salt, but a lot of salt can add up to a pile.
Wow. I'm in an odd mood tonight - can Carob make one high? I hope not.
I made Hot Carob Drinks for myself and my kiddo...I mean, the effects wouldn't bother me, but I'd like to steer my toddler away from psychoactive substances.
Anyhoo.)

"You also have the following planet culminating overhead at the time of your birth. This planet is said to be in the 10th House. This further describes your career, status and reputation.

Jupiter in the 10th House."

You have three aspects here, which don't directly say anything about what career is good for you, but each tells of a strength of yours. I'm just going to list them without the descriptions, so I can get on to the stuff that does talk directly about your career.

Jupiter Sextile Moon
Jupiter Trine Saturn
Jupiter Trine Uranus

(They all say you have good morals)

Jupiter in the 10th House

"It is very likely that you will become well known for these qualities of faith and enterprise, as well as for other personal talents - possibly concerning law, drama, teaching, religion, or the military. (oddball's Jupiter is in Aries) Having a prominent and affluent professional position - or being involved with something or someone prestigious - is more or less inevitable.

It is also quite possible that you could put too much store by your public or professional position and neglect your inner or home life. Generally speaking you have an enthusiasm for publicity, fame and fortune, but you would need sooner or later to develop honesty and integrity in performing your duties - or disgrace could result, and then you'd heartily denegrate success. Your mother's influence was or still is great concerning this inclination to excel and cut a dash in the outside world."

Mercury in Scorpio

"Yours is the mind of the interrogator or spy. So any occupation which needs or uses this kind of delving mentality is bound for some measure of success. This particularly favors psychological, research or police work. You do not miss many tricks."

Mercury Trine Midheaven

"These, your perceptive and mental capabilities, are successfully employed in your career. By the same token they will describe the actual nature of your profession. Intentionally or otherwise, your mother has or had much to do with your forming a healthy and objective mind."

Mercury in the 5th House

"...you do have a talent for teaching and humor. Your original way of communicating has a memorable effect upon the listener, especially children. Generally, your writing or manual skills make for fulfilling hobbies or successful occupations. Your mind is a major creative tool."

On second thought, it's probably not the Carob, but the 10 tablespoons of honey that I added.

...which is now wearing off.

...darn inconstant bee puke.

Lol, Proxie.

When I was born I was allergic to chocolate, so my mom had to make me karob chip cookies. Eating a couple chocolate chip cookies once made me sick for a couple weeks.

I grew out of that, though.
