I'm pretty surprised Nicolas Cage named his son after Superman.

Nicholas Cage joins Kevin Kostner in making Capricorns looking foolish. What disappointments.

So, AcousticGod...I apologise for my ignorance, but I have been away for some time and don't really know you. Are you really a musician? I live with a Cappy guitar player/singer/songwriter. I tend to get along great with you guys.

No need for apologies.

Yes, I play guitar, keyboard, and bass. I can sing as well, but I sometimes have difficulty songwriting. I could probably get over it if I just concentrated on it.

There's a lack of Scorpios in my life, but I seem to get along great with the Scorpios here. I think I might especially get along with you Scorp/Libras (TINK is one too) as I've got a stellium in the 7th (Libra's house).

Actually, AG, if my honey and I get married, we've already decided that if we have a son his name will be Clark. Inspired by Mr. Kent.

His idea. We're huge Smallville fans.

And yes, I know most Superman fans hate Smallville.

I had no idea Nick Cage named his son Kal-el. Kinda weird. I won't tell my boyfriend because he doesn't need any encouragement.

Oh, yeah... and as for the original post...

Gemini. Makes sense.

Any guesses as to his moon and rising?

My long-time friend plays keyboards and bass as well. I love having live music in my life on a daily basis. I managed the band and traveled with them for a few years, but archaeology called me back and I had to go. I still make the odd trip. Nothing more fun than a van load of musicians. Do you play publicly or profesionally or more for your own pleasure? Wait...sorry if I appear nosy here. Please feel free to tell me to mind my own business.

I'm a Superman fan, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Smallville!

Yeah, I haven't known many Superman fans to not like Smallville, but then again I don't know all that many Superman fans.

Fishkitten,

I've played mostly for my own amusement unfortunately. I've been good enough to be in a band for literally ages (I've been playing since I was 12 and I'm 32 now). The only near band thing I do right now is playing bass to another guy's guitar on Friday nights in San Francisco. We go with a ministry that feeds the homeless, and him and I play music all night from like 9 - 12.

What a wonderful thing to do with your talent. It may not be all you want, but it is a great start. Are you thinking of looking for a band to play with? There should be tons in your area...plus, as you know, Bass players are worth their weight in gold! My Cappy man is now at the point that he does only music for a living. For years he had to juggle working all week and playing on weekends...which made for a lot of 7 day work weeks. I was very happy for him when he was finally able to give up the day job. The thing about music is, no matter whether the world hears you play or you play only for yourself, it is so creative and expressive. It is one thing you always have, no matter what else is going on in your life, one thing that always comforts you. You Cappy men tend to be so deep, yet private, I think you need something that talks from your soul (yet doesn't tell too much...lol).

Very true fishkitten. Music is extremely comforting for me.

I've recently been offered the opportunity to join a couple bands, but I declined because I just don't feel like I'm in a place where I can do it at the moment. I'm too broke quite frankly, and my favorite guitar, my acoustic, needs to go into the shop. One of the strings is buzzing pretty significantly.

AG,
My hubby knows what your going through. It's a very competitive business.Musicians not all mind you have an attitude.Especially the drummers. Most of them are bitchy about when to come in on time. The bass players are cool,as well as the guitar players.Hey,speaking of guitar players,do you like Keith Richards and his Expensive Winos?.I heard he's awesome when it comes to songwriting.

Fishkitten,

There's a rod that runs through the neck of guitars. A luthier (guitar technician) can adjust that rod to bring the neck back into alignment to stop the buzzing.

Peace,

I'm not familiar with Keith Richards and his Expensive Winos. Is that some slang term for the Rolling Stones or is that a side project of Keith's? Not that I don't like him or respect his music, I've just never really cared for Keith Richards. He's before my time.

Regarding it being a competitive business, I think I could compete given the chance. What's hard starting out is finding like-minded people with talent. Usually you can find one or the other, but finding people who are both like-minded and talented is tough.

It seems that the Superman fans who don't like Smallville feel that the series takes too many liberties with the material.

I, however, love it.

Randall... I just watched the episode called Jinx, (I think) and there's this scene where Clark is alone in the locker room before the game... Green Day is playing. Gave me goosebumps!
