No GN this is not a complain.I just wanna know where your coming from.My obsessions with dead rock stars, beautiful women etc..I admire Jim Morrison for his abstract lyrics. You have to admit,he does have sex appeal among other rock stars. All I'm say GN,you can't tell me that you don't have a crush on any celebrities/non-celebrities.Crushes are natural you know. They may look great on the outside but that's just a mask.Understand.

DEAD ROCK STARS???

Here is the tragedy of your own life: Perhaps you are a "media sheep" who pays 100% of your brain attention to those flickering TV images entering your frontal lobe, and in doing so, you are oblivious to "true artistic talent" which may be right in front of you, personally, in your home town, in the form of musicians hacking away making $50 at some nightclub, or perhaps in your local symphony concert hall which has many empty unsold seats.

Therefore, it is your duty in life, primarily for your own evolution, to turn off your TV and get into your immediate community and engage with REAL people. This will be of far more use to you than daydreaming about the famous and deceased.

Please take a day or two and get your head around this......

By "media sheep", I mean that the cello player in your local symphony orchestra is 10X more talented than Jim Morrison, but JM had the media empire (i.e. profit $'s) backing him in full force, therefore your brain is paying too much attention to JM and not enough attention to the 4th chair cello player in your local symphony orchestra...

Get it???

Buy a ticket and go to a concert and WATCH-LISTEN 100%

Honolulu?

OK: I am sending a message right now to orchestra administration: let's find a way to get you into the hall.

And you are right about your tastes in new age v. a v. classical etc. But also there can be a meeting ground, and growth from both directions: THAT's LIFE!

"LIVE IT TO THE FULL WHILE YOU ARE STILL HERE WHICH MEANS DIRECT CONTACT WITH LIVE/REAL PEOPLE!!!"

Rest in peace JM.

Actually she misunderstood me.She though I was obsessed with Jim Morrison, when actually I was talking about the number 27.For some strange reason the musicians of the past(Morrison,Joplin,Hendrix)died at age 27.My question on that topic was why age 27?.I'm 27,and I wouldn't drug myself to death.

I think you should be able to celebrate whoever you like whether they are living or dead.

I'm a musician, and I don't feel jealous that Jim Morrison is loved. That's ridiculous.

Yes, there are people more talented than him as well, but I'm not sure that justifies bashing him. That's like saying one kind of music is better than another, though both styles invoke the same stirring of the spirit.

*sigh*

Peace, admiring a musican for his or her artistic output is one thing. But your postings about who might have been he soulmate and so forth, things that have nothing to do with Morrison's output - that's crossing the line into obsession. And I'm quite frankly fed up with how our celebrity-obsessed culture has grossly inhibited the personal development and inner lives of so many people, and I'm not afraid to speak up about it.

Like I said in the other forum - you can take or leave what anyone here says to you. You post in a public forum, so anyone can repsond. But if you think that everyone in the world is going to indugle you in these obsessive habits, OR is going to feel the same gushy, teney-bopper thrill over your idols, you have a very serious reality check coming to you.

And about this wild punch:

quote:
All I'm say GN,you can't tell me that you don't have a crush on any celebrities/non-celebrities.

Defensive, aren't we? And you can't tell me that I'm on the same level of maturity and emotional neediness as you, as this comment implies. So right back at ya.

It's apparent from this comment also that you live in a very narrow world mentally, unaware how others comign from different perspectives may percieve what you feel is normal or OK. This can imply: 1) you are immature and inexperienced, or 2) your are ill. I don't mean to be mean, but you can't go around assuming everyone else acts and thinks like you. Only teenagers and psychotic people do that. And if you were a teenager, I could be more patient with you (maybe), but you're not, as I recall.

So my previous advice stands: see a therapist. And I mean that in all LL love.

You are both so guilty of the things you are accusing each other of. I'd let it drop now, both of you, as there'll never be a last word as your both so determined to be the one to have it. Isn't there better things to discuss than rip each other to shreds.
Words are powerful things that affect the world around you. Remember that.

GN,
It's Human Nature. Why do you think I go to church?.Everyday people deal with the 10 Worlds.Everybody on this planet is challenged by the first 4 out of the 10 Worlds are the worst.I'm going through the 2nd world look below.

What are the Ten Worlds?:
1)Hell-This the state of suffering and despair,in which we have no freedom of action. It is characterized by the impulse to destroy ourselves and everything around.

2)Hunger-Hunger is the state of being controlled by insatiable desire for money, power, status,or whatever. While desires are inherent in any of the ten worlds,in this state we are at the mercy of our cravings and cannot control them.

3)Animality-In this state,we are ruled by instinct. We exhibit neither reason nor moral sense nor the ability to make long-range judgements. In the world of Animality,we operate by the law of the jungle,so to speak. We will not hesitate to take advantage of those weaker than ourselves and fawn of those who are stronger.

4)Anger-In this next state, awareness of ego emerges, but it is a selfish, greedy, distorted ego, determined to best others at all costs and seeing everything as a potential threat to itself. In this state we value only ourselves and tend to hold others in contempt. We are strongly attached to the idea of our own superiority and cannot bear to admit that anyone exceeds us in anything.

5)Humanity(also called Tranquilty)-This is flat, passive state of life, from which we can easily shift into the lower four worlds. While we may generally behave in a humane fashion,in this state,we are highly vunerable to strong external influences.

To find out more about the 6-10.Check out sgi-usa.org.Look for seacrh type in:What are the Ten Worlds.

Life a process of ongoing challenges. It's a contest between Good vs.Evil,God vs.Satan,Love vs.Hate.If there were not any challenges in life,we'd be lazy.Everybody, and not just me would abandon their spritual faith. If I were you GN,I'd pray for those who are suffering.Your a human too!.

why don`t you all just leave Peace alone? She hasn`t said anything offending to anyone here yet a bunch of judges jumped over like hyenas and made her reacting deffensive. Just mind your own business and leave her alone before the whole situation gets worse.

What I mean Lauren is that everybody would abandon in God,Buddha,Allah,Jehovah, etc.

Of course the Lion gets respect.Lions are fearless.Which would you'd rather be the courageous Lion that fights for injustice or the mouse who is a coward who's scare?.
