Have any of ya'll experienced in compatibility astrology noticed a tendency towards picking people and relationships that are sort of the same astrologically as the person doing the picking?

That is, if someone has a chart like this (with that *funderful* number of squares and opps as well as pretty solidly defined major aspect pattern or two), would they tend to hook-up with a people with charts a chart like this (with almost as many super red lines and a *very* significant aspect pattern), especially if their mid-point composite ends-up with aspect patterns like this and like this and/or their synastry had about an equal number of conjunctions and trines to squares and oppositions?

Likewise, if someone has a more mellow chart, are they more likely to seek other, more mellow people with equally mellow interactions between their charts?

Or do you see people attempting to balance themselves out (busy mates mellow, etc)?
(Or do you really, really wish that they would in order to save everyone else hearing them b*tch about their relationships?)

Very good question Prox....

mmm....I yearn for alike.....but know I wouldnt be able to live with it.....I need the balance, especially as what I yearn for is too much in myself already and wouldnt make for a healthy union.....does that make sense?

You'd think so, Sue G - I mean, that makes sense, doesn't it?

But I've noticed that almost everyone in my life with whom I'm close has a more "difficult" chart than not.
D'ya know, aside from what makes sense, what plays out astrologically?

I notice people pick people who have a composite that is similar to their natal chart. If their Venus aspects another planet, they will end up with the same in the composite many times.

Artists/musicians tend to pick long term relationships with those who have Neptune aspects in the natal chart.

Hi, Prox. *waving*

I agree, Natasha. (how are you? )

We lean toward people who have issues simular to our own. If you have a bad sun/moon relationship in your natal, you'll likely be drawn (and vise versa) to someone who also has a bad sun/moon relationship in their natal. Oppositions end up together quite often (ie both have sun opposed moon)- Inconjucts and semi-sextiles tend to end up together (ie he has moon in Libra, sun in Scorpio, she has moon in Leo, sun in Cancer)

If your sun & moon are not harmonious, you will likely find a mate who's sun/moon are also not harmonious.

If you're both interested in learning and growing, you'll work through it together. Or not. It's a crap shoot. But you'll try, ya know?

i dont think its as simple as, picking same or different,

i look for men who are similar in their mentality (i always fall in love with a mans brain first),

but different in their opinions, behaviors, communication patterns...god knows im annoying enough dont want to date myself....

i also am HIGHLY attracted to men who represent the hidden part of me, intense, sexual, emotional, driven and competitive to a scary extent--all things masked under that bubbly Gemini stellium. which is why fire men are great

just want to add to the above post, i like mens mercury/sun patterns to trine or sextile mine (which is why theyre always air/fire), but also like Taurus (practical) and Aries (passionate) influences...which is the less obvious parts of my chart (moon in second, venus in aries).

I do like for there to be moon-moon squares or moon-mars squares, for me that is positive friction, great physical relationship too.

all this made me think.

*still thinking ( beacuse my friends and close one are all mixed )

one thing that instantly comes to mind is they all represent a part of me .
gems-the compromise
sags-straightforwardness/humour
scorps- my aggression

nice thread !

I agree totally on that one. I like brainy men and I have 4 planets in Gem. They have to have a good since of humor and be independent with alot of fire to them. I think we look for ourselves in others all the time.
