Good morning from achey head land,

Im sure you all are well aware of the new planet discovered a few months ago, temporarily knicknamed Xena! Does anyone know if this planet is going to be included astrologically soon....AND, if no one has defined its meaning, what do you think the planet will represent in spiritual terms?

Matt

the planets role...

1.consider the planets revolution time.
2.observe its effects in various signs durings its sojourn and decide what events on earth conincide with the important dates of the planets sojourn (like when it changes a sign or when it is conjunct sun or moon)

thus we shall understand the effects and energies of the planets.

which sign it belongs to...

1.consider the default behaviour of various signs.
2. consider the nature of the events (outlined as being associated to the planet) in each sign. example...lets say xena is found to be associated to event A. now study how event A occours during planet's motion in each sign.
3.conclude where planets energy (whether good or eveil) is at its best and where worst. example...jupiter is most masculine and expansive when it blends with the emotions of cancer and least expansive and fancy when it blends (or rather meets with) down to earth and structured unflighty capricorn.

conclusion: thus the planet is studied.

yes 2020 and peace, in avestan astrology it is considered to be the 10th planet.

quote:
Proseprine, connected with faith, with superior manifestation of the soul, with religious system which you follows, with your choice, and also with alchemy of the body. It is superior Saturn, super-system, where is important each triviality. It is connected with alchemical mutation, transformation and regeneration, including the cold nuclear synthesis. Its revolution time is 665 years.

quote:
Proserpine/Persefone (daughter of Ceres) was kidnapped by Pluto, god of the underworld while she sat in a field with a lap full of daffodils. Some think that she was immobilized or entranced by the toxic aroma of the daffodils. Proserpine became queen of the underworld for half the year, and returned to her mother for the other half. The festival was completed with [fiery] entreaties to Ceres, goddess of the Earth and its fruits, for successful crops.

quote:
If the name Xena sticks, then this new planet will represent the female archetype of sacred warrior. Chiron represents the male archetype of sacred warrior. Both archetypes are now discovered in the cosmos and are available to each person on this planet. This would be a call to each of us to balance the yin and yang, male and female within. The era of matriarchal or patriarchal dominance is over. We enter a period where both are celebrated together, and not one at the expense of the other.

Because of her slow orbit, everyone alive today has Xena in either Pisces or Aries. Thus her house placement rather than sign placement will be the significant factor in determining Xena's meaning in a natal chart. In addition, if the name Xena sticks, I expect any aspecting between Xena and Chiron will be significant, although it may be generational rather than individual.

Thanks TheEvolution, nicely said. Have you made any observations yourself recently, and reached any possible energy patterns?

Good work Peri, great depth as always

no. i'm not deep into astrology. it tends to hover around my mind all day. but i believe this will be the scientific way advanced astrologers would adopt to study this new planet.

I'll have to check the ephemeris and see where it's located... Valerie Vaughn's book "Persephone is Transpluto" put her theoretical planet in Leo in my birthchart, so I'll have to check... If it's the same planet, I'll really be psyched. Her theory gives Persephone rulership of Libra, and she makes a pretty strong case for it.

Ah it's in Aries for my chart... guess it's not the one VV was writing about! LOL

DragonflyAries, I am sure Proserpine and Persephone is not the same planet. Proserpine is a very very slow planet. It was at 29 Leo in 1850 or so.

Xena is not going to stick. It was only a codename. It was never the proposed name for the planet. The other kuiper belt objects have codenames, Santa and Easterbunny. Do you think the astronomers are going to name them Santa and Easterbunny?? Of course not. Common sense.

IAU says that a planet has to be named after Greek/Roman deity

Glaucus, that was only an excerpt from that article Peri was quoting from. If you had followed the link and read the article through you would have seen these comments:

"Nonetheless, for a brief few days in August, 2005, the media proved it was the summer silly season and jumped on the idea of a new planet named Xena, but by summer's end, it had become clear: the name Xena would only be a bit of whimsy, and the real "serious" name of the planet would be determined in bureaucratic due course, which likely would be sometime in 2007 at the earliest."

That article, BTW, was called "UB313: not to be named Xena." Astrologers who have been following these developments are very aware that UB313 is not going to be called Xena, and that the name's only temporary as Betelgeuse said. I don't think Peri was trying to mislead people, but only quoting the section from the article that offers a kind of interpretation. Traditionally in astrology, new bodies are interpreted in part by the events surrounding by their discovery, so there's the possiblity that in the future we'll be interpreting UB313 with an acknowledgement to its former nickname.

I see. I have been at Astrology groups on yahoo, you would be surprised the astrologers that believe that Xena is the proposed name for UB313. It's ridiculous! (shakes and scratches his head)
