Hey, I was jusr randomly thinking...
There are some people who are never completely satisfied where they are in life. These are the people who if they have an ok job, they dream of doing something even better. They have grand ideas about what people, and even themselves are capable of...but also are frequently let down by reality. Some of this is justified (we all want to utilize our greatest potential) and some is just general dissatisfaction.

I was wondering which kinds of tendencies, in a person, or when just looking at someone's chart, would you look at? Would it be Jupiter (expansion) and Neptune (ideals) and their prevalence in the chart in order to see what general ideas one would have about life and their satisfaction with it? Or Mercury?
In other words, if someone is always looking beyond the horizon for "something better" what would possibly indicate that in the chart...?

Any ideas?

:-)

Neptune is a biggie for this, especially Neptune singletons. I have that.

Hi, Gemrising
In my experience, you just described people with rather "hard" charts - ie, lots of oppositions & squares. They're often filled with angst and a general feeling of discontent. They'll seek mates who tend to sooth one side of them, but eventually it starts to aggrevate the aspects that are uncomfortable. They have a hard time being happy for any extended amount of time, because the different things that make them happy are often so diametrically opposed in nature. So much conflict.

Sun opposed moon is a hard one. So is Saturn opposed, conjunct, or sqaure sun moon or ascendant.

We all have tender points in our charts, but some people have way more than there share. They must have decided to work off alot of karma in this life or something. It can't be easy.

Hey, Gemini Nymph...what house and sign is your singleton?

I have a singleton moon in the 12th house of Taurus..

Neptune is such a welcoming planet, but if misused, can really lead to a search of "perfection" I think..

Lioneye68, that is very interesting you mention saturn in hard aspect to the moon...I have it opp. my moon....I think that it is the hardest aspect of my chart...exp sat. in the 5th house (along w/ mars and pluto...a lot of "dark" energy there)

I think saturn opp moon has a general distrust or almost a (low) level fear of rejection from people....that idea of not being "appreciated" enough...but I am just going on this ideas intuitively...I have not met anyone with this aspect...

if ur talking about people who are not satisfied with their lives mentally then consider this...

moon's placement. storng or week? aspects of moon with chart ruler. aspcets of moon with ruler of the sign it is in. aspcets of moon with other entities.

now consider the unhamroious one. most importantly consider aspects with NN and SN. whe moon is aflicted by them the individual craves for mental stability and peace.

now consdier the planets with which the unharmanious ascpest are. say saturn. consider the house and sign saturn is and which house satrun ruled sign's rule. u will come to know gradually by trail and error as to which area of llife the person is instable mentally in.

ok, gemrising - Saturn opposed moon is yucky. You'll tend to isolate yourself, because you can't help but feel that others don't understand the gravity of your situation. (whatever the current situation is) - it's hard to connect with others because your head is full of stress about what is NOT OK in your life. Family puts heavy demands on you, and their demands effect your work world. But you can't escape them. (unless you run away, which you may contemplate - but guilt stops you in your tracks)

Saturn opposed moon is all about carreer verses family. Ambition verses accomodating loved ones. That's not easy for sure. I have that going on right now with transiting Saturn in Leo. My moon is Aquarius. But I'm also bracing myself for Saturn conjunct sun & mercury. It's about 5 degrees away from that right now. I'm reinforcing the fort for the storm, or looking forward to some recognition. It could go either way, you see.

And that's just a transit for me. You have this IN YOUR NATAL CHART. This feeling probably never ends for you. Especially when it's being activated by transits.

It's not easy, girl. But you chose your challenges carefully before you came here, so all you can do now is pony up.

So true, Lioneye, so so miserably true!

"Saturn opposed moon is all about carreer verses family. Ambition verses accomodating loved ones."

That's me. It's tough, it really is, esp since I am still in college, about to graduate and this is the "crucial" time in anyone's life.

I am also, not keen on restictions being placed upon me, so this whole "duty" or my individual self vs. family responsibility does not fly well.

I am on the fence about reincarnation. I think that I have perhaps lived before, but I am not sure if I believe we pick our lives before we get into them, But it is a possiblity. But if one picks a life that is is significantly more rough than another, I am guessing it is because of a particular reason...meaning, the sould benefits...

But I am going to stop my rant!

The Evolution-
I am going to look at some famous charts/ friends charts, noting what you said...

Thanks you guys!

I feel a little like I'm hijacking this thread (sorry)- but so much of this is making sense to me, and I haven't even explored these issues with relation to my chart.
I have a Neptune singleton, conjunct my IC. I have a Moon singleton in the 10th house; Moon opposition Sun (planet ruling sign of Moon), Mercury and Venus (chart ruler) and
NN squaring Sun, Moon, Mercury and Venus.
I've explored the links between these aspects and clinical depression, as well as bipolar (which I was incorrectly diagnosed with). I never thought about them in relation to that feeling of "the searcher" as gemini rising so aptly called it.

hi geminirising26! i have a geminirising29! hehe!

just thought i'd share in your 'woes' in having the saturn - moon opposition. i have that natally as well!! mine is super tightly opposed: 0°06; saturn in leo in the 2nd house & moon in aquarius in the 8th house. i've also got transiting saturn (nearly) conjunct my natal saturn & opposed my natal moon. (then to top it off i have transiting neptune sitting right on my moon! )

the thing i noticed about this aspect is that it can tend to cause emotional depression. i think it is a sign that in this life we're here to give more of ourselves emotionally than receive. since this aspect is really being activated within me right now due to transits i am really learning the lessons in a big way and am slowly coming to terms with this part of myself.

for me the focus is more (2nd house)what value i give to things & myself vs (8th house) soul searching for what really makes me happy (emotion!) because the stuff that used to is changing on me again and/or letting go of stuff that dosen't 'grow corn' for me anymore.

you're intuition was right about the fear of rejection from people. it usually surprises me when someone actually likes me! even though there's no rational reason for them not to. know what i mean?! the idea of not being appreciated enough is true also but i've accepted that as part of our 'saturnine work' here (the part about giving more than receiving. yeah, i know everyone should do that, but us especially. i believe we chose these aspects for a reason!)

take care!

Hi Hexxie!

Very good points made..I agree with this one most:
"the thing i noticed about this aspect is that it can tend to cause emotional depression. i think it is a sign that in this life we're here to give more of ourselves emotionally than receive"

I think you may be on to something here. I have experienced many different highs and lows, and I also think that what is often missing is how sensitive moon opp. saturn people are....b/c in order to fear rejection one has to be sensitive enough to be hurt by it..

Some people just shrug it off!

It is a very interesting aspect, and I think if I did not have it in my chart, I would be someone who would be completely in my head and not as emotionally grounded and aware of the effects of other people around me... I have quite a few aspects to mercury (conjunct Jup, Neptune, opp. ASC, sextile Pluto...)in my chart, which could suggest that I am very "mind" oriented.

I am going to have to learn about accepting the idea that we are here to give more than recieve...it seems not fair!

Whiterabbit-

I forgot to ask: are you are very sensitive person? Do you see yourself as being so or do others see it...?

Just asking w/ that placement of Neptune...and moon singleton.....
