for him and i we share the following:

my moon/venus conj his moon = 2 deg
my moon conj his sun = 4 deg [out of sign, tho]
my merc conj his sun = 4 deg
my asc opp his sun = 1 deg
his moon conj my merc = 6 [kinda wide & out of sign, might not count]
my moon conj his merc = 7 [v. wide but in sign, might not count]

we also share a mutual merc venus conj, i have merc in aqua and venus in cap, he has venus in aqua and merc in cap.

also, we each have aspects from our natal mercks to uranus, but not to eath other's uranus... maybe those of us with merc in aspect to that can more easily pick up on that "weirdo" type of communication?

the entire thing is very*super strong, images at times -- i heard a white noise when i was walking past him in the beginning [i didnt know him then] and we had this entire convo via just telepathy ---- believe me i hadnt been drinking!!

My take: Moon-Moon and Mercury-Moon conjunctions are playing a vital role.
And what about your NepTUNEs ?
How is Mercury/Moon connecting to each other's Neptune?

Do you notice any change in ESP depending on the phase of the moon? Oct 27 is full moon, try to make a journal of telepathic strength.
Repeat the exercises 14 days hence to calculate new moon ESP strength.
Try out long words, obscure images, especially things that both of dont know. I recommend the acid test of Integral Calculus formulae, you google them and see if he can read it from your mind.

Without the full chart information it is difficult to say: many different aspects between people can indicate an "empathic" connection. Of those you gave us, I agree with lqhunk that the Moon (home, also unconscious)-Mercury (thinking) connections are the best indicators. Also, as lqhunk suggested, look to Neptune (spirituality, also subconsicous)-Moon/Mercury connections as well.

Iqhunk: regarding nepTUNE [chuckle], there's only a sextile between his and my moon. Will definitely keep in mind your suggestions regarding lunar phases.
