I would say for longer term relationships, Sun/Venus.. as it interacts on a deeper level.Both are good contacts to have though.... IP: Logged |

Venus conj Sun seems to be more powerful. Venus adores the Sun seeing that person as an embodiment in a very real sense of all they find attractive. The Sun person basks in the warmth and returns the affection/attention. This is all of course dependent on other factors harmonious being present. Had this with my ex, he adored me [and i adored him for a while too] but his venus on my sun started up my natal sun-uranus square and I wanted out -- quick.Venus conj Asc is vague to me. Knew a guy who was enamored with me who had almost every personal planet in leo [my entire 1st house] yet on my end, he just seemed to up my spirits with his energy: no attraction other than friendship. Deliverance,As Arnicka points out, there are no reliable rules for which energies in a synastry are "stronger": it has a LOT to do with each person's birth chart and how the energies interact with the ENTIRE chart. In your examples:
- mans venus (relationships) conj (energy is combined with) womans sun (self-expression, also dating) - mans venus conj womans asc (self) - womans venus conj mans sun - womans venus conj mans acs there are two basic relationship interactions: one with the self-expression of the person, and the other with the person themselves. In general, the conjunctions to the Sun will be VERY useful in dating and forming a favorable first impression. The conjunctions to the Ascendant connect one person to the other on a "personal" level. However, since the Ascendant is NOT an energy (unlike the planets), the result is simply a tendency for the Venus person to focusing on the Ascendant person. This personal focusing MAY be relationship enhancing, depending on what planetary energies are activated in the Ascendant person by this conjunction. In short, people are complex, and each relationship (usually, unless there are twins involved!  ) has its own unique chart. Agree with Arnicka. Venus conjunct ascendant I've often had in friendships. Can't speak for the (male) friends involved. (I was the ascendant person) But no attraction on my side whatsover, just a very comfortable feeling, being yourself around the other person and feeling accepted. By the way different story with venus opposite ascendant. Definite strong Attraction. My experience at least.Sun conjunct venus. Again I can only speak from my own experience - I have had my sun in conjunction with the man's venus, and in a different case my venus in conjunction with the man's sun. Strong attraction in both cases although in different ways - my sun conjunct the man's venus - I found him extremely beautiful. The man's sun conjunct my venus - strongly attracted to him although aesthetically speaking not at all my type. There's a lot in astro literature about the (female) sun conjunct (male)venus combination. With this combination the female is said to represent the ideal woman for the man. However, similarly as MamaMia I'm very curious about the option when it's the man's sun conjunct the woman's venus. Any thoughts how this might play out differently. Is her beauty and charm seducing him?

Your description of man's Sun (self-expression, also dating) conjunct (energy is combined with) woman's Venus (relationships) seems appropriate. In this case the way the man expresses himself (perhaps in dating) combines with the way the woman relates, and the way the woman relates combines with the way the man expresses himself (pershaps in dating).
