Hello my friends, Below is a photograph of my father who passed away in 2002. He never knew his time of birth but I am more and more interested in trying to figure out his real chart. These are the known statistics: Sun Scorpio Moon Leo Mercury Scorpio or Sagittarius Venus in Libra Mars in Gemini Jupiter in Leo Saturn in Gemini Uranus in Gemini Neptune in Libra Pluto in LeoAscendant is obviously unknown and Mercury could be either Scorpio or Sagittarius. Considering his line of work (philosophy professor) Sagittarius makes sense, but then so does Scorpio. He communicated in a very eloquent and beautiful way. How does his appearance strike you? And how would you go about deducing someone's Mercury? He looked like a Taurus, but his manner was more Leo (minus the attention-seeking). I don't know- even Pisces might be a possibility. Any thoughts? They would be very appreciated.

Lotus: I think I agree with you, although the Leo rising is still a possibility- it would put Taurus on his MC and I've heard that often denotes a good singing voice.Acoustic- what made you say that, just curious. Any more ideas?

Taurus ascending just seems so natural for him he's comtemplating, thinking in the great outdoors, and he looks mighty comfortable like a sagLove and Light to ALL IP: Logged |

I honestly don't know why I said Aquarius. Maybe because the suggestions are that it's a fixed sign, and being a philosophy professor you'd naturally want the highest ranking. ? Who knows?Leo would work. Our own PixelPixie is a Scorp with Leo ascendant and she's quite eloquent. Would like to hear more about his personality I think. It's a nice picture, and your dad is handsome, but it's hard to place on looks alone. Sag is a good guess as they are both attractive and philosophical, but they're blunt (but they also have good speaking voices). Capricorn would add some reserve and discipline to his demeanor, which might lend toward speaking deliberately and therefore eloquently. If he had a touch of the offbeat and whimsical, my Aquarian guess would fit (they're attractive folks too). I'm not sure that I feel right about a Scorp/Pisces teaching philosophy. This is a weird one, but I feel like I can see in his face some Aries, and Aries can be a bit philosophical. That could just be Mars playing tricks, though. IP: Logged |

Leo minus the attention seeking...could that be Virgo? Virgos have the style of Taurus. Virgo's a Mutable, which is perfect for logically weighing the various viewpoints in a philosophical discussion. A Mutable sign helps temper the Fixed Sun with adaptability.IP: Logged |

Well if he's philisopical, then maybe I would say mercury in sag, but scorp would work too I guess. He is handsome, do you think a venusian ascendant (taurus) would do?IP: Logged |

he was good looking so i guess his mercury could be in scop.but from the photogragh he seems to be a deep thinker so as there is alot of gemini in his chart. quote: He communicated in a very eloquent and beautiful way.
again that represents gemini in him . but his look strikes me him to be a scorp. IP: Logged |

haha.. wow.. the guesses are all over the place. I really can't decide (and can't afford a birth time rectification). He was very charming and kind, and always had women falling in love with him, but he remained faithful to my mom (Cancer/Virgo Moon/Sag Rising). He had a bit of a temper, but it would go away very quickly. Proud, but that's probably the Leo moon. He liked to laugh a lot.. that sounds random.. I don't know, it just always comes to mind when I think of him. A little bit prone to depression, however. Brilliant, but very humble about it. HATED snobbery. A bit of a revolutionary spirit in his youth. I'm thinking of Taurus because of that warm, sensual charm they have and also- one of my brothers who looks a lot like him is a Taurus (w/Leo rising). If Aquarius, then his Sun would be in the 9th, w/ Sagittarius on the Midheaven, both of which would easily explain his strong attraction to philosophy, as well as the jovial moods you mentioned. The Aqua Asc, in itself, would contribute the revolutionary spirit, while counterbalancing the pride of the Scorpio Sun, and the vanity of the Leo placements, with a strong dose of humility and cool self-effacement (also mentioned). Moon and Jupiter in the 7th would explain the loyal and devoted marriage. On the other hand, he looks a little like Steve McQueen, whose ascendant was Cancer. hsc IP: Logged |

HSC, Interesting suggestion! I will study his aspects using Aqua rising and see if it feels right. Come to think of it he had a reserved sort of nonconformism: a Saturnian Aquarius feeling about him.. IP: Logged |
