mama,Virgo modifying Venus (relationships) is Venus in the sign of its fall (very challenging energy). Since Virgo is about "daily work" this person tries to create relationships by creating some sort of routine. Unfortunately, relationships need MORE than a routine...they need original, spontaneous action! It is possible that your son hates school because it forces him to have to deal with the challenges of relating to others. On the other hand, perhaps he has worked out these issues and is fine with relationships...it is SCHOOL he can't stand. When I was a kid, EVERY kid I knew hated school! MM, to me that sounds more like a Mercury issue, or Uranus. Does he have Uranus in the 9th for example?? When I think of school, I think of conformity. And LOL, I loathe it with a vengeance. I think of peer pressure, bullies, stupid a**holes who are popular because they wear the "right" sneakers, teachers who are so dysfunctional I wouldn't want them to potty train my dog. Don't even get me started... Lol, I do hate it when I get on a soap box, and so does everyone else. I wish I hadn't seen this post, lol! IMHO -- it is a sign of your son's intelligence that he doesn't like school, and not sweet Venus in Virgo dysfunction. So much goes into 'school.' It's not just the learning, it's the style of learning that they advocate, where everybody is supposed to CONFORM. But people learn in different ways. Some learn best by LISTENING, others can't absorb what they are hearing, and need to READ it for themselves, still others desperately need INTERACTIVE learning where they can feel and touch things and relate to the material in a concrete way. Unfortunately, traditional learning only endorses one kind of learning. A talking head at the front of the class room, and the students are supposed to absorb the knowledge like eager sponges and spit it back at the test that's coming up soon. That is not how effective learning takes place for most people. A lot of kids who are "diagnosed" with ADD or learning "disabilities" are really kids that don't fit into the narrow mold of learning. Especially these days when they are all cramming for tests, and not for actual knowledge. In my case, btw., the fact that I hated school was due to having Uranus and Mercury conjunct the AC, and that my way of learning always involved doing things a little differently. You should find out exactly what it is about school that he doesn't like. Maybe he's just lonely? What's his sign, anyway? IP: Logged |

Hi MamaMia - I have Venus in Virgo. I didn't really like school much, even though I excelled at it. I always remember telling myself: one day it'll be over, and then I'll be famous and outta here. Perhaps your son is just already dreaming of bigger and better things. But I agree, check the Uranus and also Mercury placements. IP: Logged |

i also have uranus merc conjunction and then a mars pluto conjunction.. my way of learning was not the norm, still isn't. i would drift constantly..i was easily distracted and highly sensitive to noises, smells and my environment in general. like a giant nerve ending, LOL.i have venus in virgo too. yeah i hated school, partly because i didn't fit despite having the right clothes and being pretty, i was shy and insecure and nervously mental (which is very much venus in virgo) i totally agree with loggerhead regarding the ADD comment. hi loggerhead fellow virgo do you have venus in virgo too? Pair him up with a Venus in Aries or Cancer, cardinal signs will get him moving. I am always finding Venus in Virgos and want to help, they love support and encouragement daily and schools are pretty dry and regimented. Virgo likes one on one more than groups.Natasha

Hi Mia, Is his Mercury retrograde, by chance? I have Venus in Taurus and, have very strong feelings of dislike of school, as well. However, my Merc is retro and it is conjunct that Venus, as well as my Gemi Sun.... I also have Mars in leo in my 9th house, conjunct Saturn in Cancer and, these are aspecting the Sun/Venus/Merc. I would think this would have more to do with Merc maybe even Jupiter, because of it's 9th house rule.... the 3rd house would influence too.... I think.... ~ geminstone IP: Logged |

I did not like School! I did well... as far as grades... it was even more so after 6th grade or so... puberty was a nightmare.... It was so much more the peer pressure... not fitting in... worry over everything.... once i found an outside activity that i enjoyed and excelled at, it boosted my self-confidence and the whole picture got better.Venus, merc, sun, uranus and pluto in virgo IP: Logged |

Hi lovely* -- yes, I also have Venus in Virgo, guess I forgot to mention it even though that's why I originally replied, and Mercury/Uranus conj. (and both conj. AC). I also can identify with your sensory issues -- noise and smells just about kill me... (On the other hand, smells and sounds that I love, like Vanilla Shea butter, and wind shimes, can really transport me, lol!) Do you feel when you go to sleep at night you need complete and utter silence? I do. Beware, noisy neighbors. There is a noise pollution nazi living amongst you, and it's ME!!! IP: Logged |

loggerhead, i love organic woodsy naturual smelling frangrance. speaking of neighbors, mine are really into those glade plug-ins and have them scattered around the house. when i walk my dog or open a window that horrible fake smell totally assaults my nose. i've been over thier house and it literally makes me nauseous, but whadda ya do? we have a frangrance-free house, with the exception of natural vanilla and soy candles, lavender/sandalwood are ok with my nose too..and natural flowers like tuberose, lily and roses are fine as long as they are real FLOWERS, lol. & the smell of herbs wafting in from the back yard is a heavenly smell to me. as far as noise, yep i like absolute silence. it took me years to overcome my frustration with the fan my leo hubby insists are blasting all night. (he needs white noise) not only did the noise bother me, but moving air bothers me too. having a convertable a few years ago was more of a curse because the hairs on my head would blow around and tickle my neck.. it drove me nuts to have the top down unless I had the wind screen up. i also get really irritable with idle chatter, poor acoustics when dining, cheap sound-systems/speakers are very apparent to me also. I have Venus in Virgo, and it's partially true for me. Check it out... I HATED school - BUT - could not WAIT to get to college. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE colleges & universities. Maybe it DOES have something to do with the routine aspect, since in college it's not as predictable. And maybe also has something to do with the "talking head" aspect as well. And as others have mentioned, I'd look at Uranus, the Sign it's in, the House it's in, and Aspects to it. I've got South Node & MC (Midheaven) in Aquarius, Mars Sextile Uranus, and Uranus Square Ascendant. ALSO may mean something - I've got two Planets in the 9th House of "higher learning". They are Saturn & Jupiter in Capricorn. This could mean I really place a whole lot of value and credence in higher learning. I'm not about to get fed a bunch of bull from some a-hole teacher. I really take it seriously. My 9th House Cusp is ALSO in Capricorn. So look at Planets landing in his 9th House, AND his 9th House Cusp. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

All this is great information some of this stuff really has me thinking. Also I cannot reme, ber who said this off the top of my head but I think this is exactly how my son is thinking feeling. His whole thing is blow school skip this I am going to be rich and famous that is what I need to do. His destiny is to be a actor/model he is so determin to do that too. His sun sign is in Leo in the 8th house. Most actors and on screen TV are Leo's they love that attention. I am going to look over all his house placements and stuff and see what I come up with. Thanks to all.. IP: Logged | |
