Hey!

Caught a video clip of Freddy Mercury of the famed rock group Queen, and was wondering if anyone thinks he was such a unique talent as well - and what do you think his Chart says about him and his talent?

I think it says the obvious LOL: very dramatic, extravagant, and a born performer. A real prfectionist too and inclined to excessiveness and grandeosity.

Sag moon and Pallas in 5th - wants attention, approval, fame, and admiration. Prone to excessiveness, indulgence and egotism. Highly creative, but demands an audience, and a BIG one. Pallas here gives significant talent and skill, and Sag and the 5th gives the energy and desire to use it.

Leo ASC, MC in Taurus, Libra Chiron, Jupiter, Venus and Mars: Can you say "Drama Queen"? I think this explains the purple nailpolish, the feather boas, and "Bohemian Rhaspsody." Inclinations towards luxury, grandeosity and extragavance, but also neediness, a weakness for own's own desires and self-indulgence. A very Venusian character, but with definite masculine overtones. Chiron in Libra suggest needing acceptence and to be part of something "impressive" and "valid" to feel self-worth. Mars in 2nd indicates someone motivated to make $$$, and Jupiter in 3rd indicates a charming, persausive, "winning" personality.

Gem Uranus in 11th - very unconventional in realting to others. Probably not a strong indicator of Mercury's sexuality/sexual orientation, but may provide some insight into it. probably had several romatic reltionships, due to fickleness, eeding "space" and wanting his "twin flame." Probably very friendly and gregarious with he other aspects, but not likely someone you could have relied on a lot.

Pluto and Saturn in 12th: indicators deep psychological problems and significant obstacles to confronting them. Saturn in the 12th is a HEAVY aspect, and often indicates profound shame resulting from early trauma, whichc haunts the native through adulthood. Usually the native is not able to confront the cause of this shame until late adulthood.

That's all I'm say for now...interesting chart.

I saw that Uranus in Gemini in the 11th House too Gemini Nymph ... it really got my attention. I think it ties into his Virgo in the 1st influences, as well as his North Node in Gemini. That "electric" energy I always say that Aquarius/Uranus, Virgo/Mercury & Gemini influences create.

Lot of Libra influences too. A great thinker!

I love that he had MC in Taurus - it's so him. Really, it made me think of the the song "Queen Killer" right off the bat.

The 11th Uranus in Gem is very intriguing - trining his Libra planets, that's pretty intense. I'm sure he had a racing mind, and probably he overwhelmed himself by overthinking things! I overlooked that his Neptune is in Libra too - that's pretty wild there. All that Libran infleunce plus a Leo ASC = a born performer.

I also suspect that this kind of intense and unique air influence (a Libra Mars within a stelium aspecting Gem Uranus) may have made Freddy rather "complicated" sexually - or oversimplistic. Either he was very confused about his own sexual identity - feeling that he had both definite masculine and feminine sides - or that he simply felt he transcended gender. Again. I don't see this leading neceessarily to homosexuality, but it would certainly make him intellectually open to homosexual realtionships. With a Sag moon in the 5th, I doubt that emotionally he would have felt anything to impede him in pursuing unconventional relationships.

Libra is such a odd sign - masculine yet Venusian, the most androgynous of the air signs. I knew Freddy was Virgo, but this strong Libran influence makes a lot of sense for him. I think that it not only gives insight to why he pursued rockstardom and why he was successful at it, but also what kind of rock star he was and what it ment to him on a more personal level. Rock stardom served as a avenue for expressing that oddball androgynous Libran influence in ways that could both socially acceptable and profitable. Afterall, a number of popular rock stars of his time were equally androgynous: David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Robert Plant, KISS, etc.

BTW Libra influence often makes for great rock stars. There's a lot of rock musicans from the 70's that were either Libras or had significant Libra influence.

Jupiter in the third or in Gemini always seems to be a little what's the word? involved in many different relationships at the same time to explore and investigate the rules? And sort of feminine-for lack of a better word-what else can you call a person who is not assertive in manner?

Libra mars is very giving and again open minded to all sorts of people, believes in fairness, no judgements, that there is love in everyone.

The Sag moon is the need for emotional experiences-unpredictable, big highs, big lows.

He was fascinating.

An important part of my life, Freddy was the obsession for my first husband, an Aries, Gemini Moon, Venus in Pisces, Mars in Cancer.

He would ONLY play Queen in the car-and would dress like Freddy and play his videos when he was manic-depressive. Since I was pretty much trapped with my ex I remember all this vividly, and now I remember he was another bad poet, and a lawyer. He did however, teach me to seek mongamy and stability 100%.

Queen inspired many people but I don't think healthy men and women aspire to be Freddy.

Libra influence indicates not only popular musicians but also transformational musicians. ones that change generations...and mentalities, not just musical preferences.

Aquarians and Aries tend to capitalize on pop trends and punk rock trends.

Pisceans tend to put together provocative combinations of music.

Gemini and Virgo can write unbelievable lyrics. Aqua also.

Sags and Aquas can be brilliance itslef in musical form.

Taurus is ultimately the music ruled sign i think, they have a logical way of looking at music, like a system. they can see patterns and create and make rules which generations of musicians will follow. they tend to do well with anything if they can systemize it. same goes for cap.

Virgo and pisces--good dancers, and good creators of new dance forms and dance moves.

Love

Lots of Virgo, very perfectionist (you can tell that paying attention to the vocal arrangements)

It looks like his Moon is a singleton (only planet in the social houses). Moon singletons appear often in chart for very flamboyant, intense, and dramatic (and rather unstable) personalities. Picasso had a moon singleton, and I think Warhol too (might be wrong about that).

Interesting that his moon is a singleton, and he has NO planets in water signs. I wonder if the absence of water signs indicates more prominent presence of planets ruled by water? Moon, Neptune and Pluto...hmmm...

Does his moon opposed his Uranus tightly? That would only add intensity it his Uranus-Libran aspects. Singletons tend to "hyper charge" planets they aspect - I know all about this, cos my Neptune and Uranus are singletons and they just cause all kinds of chaos and lunacy in my chart.

Slightly off topic, but concerns Queen. You know the song "We are the Champions" (dont know if thats really the title or not but, my friends lil sister, around the age of 7 or so ... sang the song as "We are the Cherrios" lmao ... she seriously thought those were the words. Oh boy did we laugh over that on and kidded her for years to come about it.

Really? Aquarius is "the" sign of androgynity... And Gemini is pretty ambiguous too...

Pop producer - Yes *really, * if you're implying I don't know what I'm talking about. All the air signs are androgynous and/or asexual anyhow. It's just Libra is associated with a planet strongly thought of as feminine, yet it's considered a masculine sign. Thus Libra is androgynous in the truest sense of the word, i.e. "Having both female and male characteristics" (from Webster's dictionary.)

Being a Gemini with a lot of Uranian influence, I can say that this is distinct from Gemini and Aquarius influences, which are more appropriately said to be "asexual" in most ways, i.e, not necessarily relating to either gender, as opposed to being a blending of both. In this sense Uranus is probably to most asexual of the planets. Mercury on the other hand is somewhere between being androgyny and asexuality, it rules the brain (which has male and female traits combined) and thought/communciation (which is universal and has no gender).

I'm going down the posts, REALLY REALLY impressed with the insights you guys gave, and I want to address a few....

BUT

I get towards the end of the posts here, and I just want to understand why...

Pop Producer -

Yo man! I thought we were tight. You know ... we have an Argentine connection! Don't worry about Gemini Nymph's style of communication. It's just style, but don't let it color the substance in her thoughts too much. Tres bien? (Tu Libra Amiga)

OK -

Gemini Nymph -

quote:

That's really got me thinking. I'd agree, just a gut feeling. He really did have such up's and downs. His Libra influences made him such a philosopher - and maybe the classicial musicians of previous centuries were like the first rock stars... and perhaps music was a place for them to express their "androgynous flamboyance" as well. Wasn't Amadeus sort of "freaky"?

Moon Singleton too?

Natasha -

Wow - Don't know where you got that insight, but I'd agree with that one too, now that I think of it.

For example: Someone with Jupiter in Gemini in the 11th House. THAT would be interesting.
