so if someone has a lot of planets in lets say 1st house...like SUN, MOON, etc in the 1st house, they are aries like, though their sign doesnt have to be in aries? correct?so if the person has NO aries in the chart but has a lot of 1st houses, they are generally like a aries? right? please elaborate, thank U! Shop,That sounds right. Just remember that sign modifies energy and house is focus. So the person with a lot of Aries has Aries-influences on their planetary energies, while the person with a lot of planets in the 1rst house is focusing on achieving Aries types of things. To simplify, if a person has a stellium collection of energy) in Aries (being, also action), they will tend to be active in their energy. If a person has a lot of planets focused in the first house, they will tend to focus on action. Actively, Tim IP: Logged |

Yeah ... But I wouldn't forget that whatever Planet you have in the 1st House makes you more like that Planet's personality. For example: If you have Saturn in your 1st House, it doesn't make you more "Aries" as much as it would make you more "Capricorn'ish".If you are looking at more than one Planet, let's use Venus, Jupiter & Neptune in the 1st House - The way I would look at this is intuitively. I'd think of this person as being very Libra/Sag/Pisces in their ways, more as if they had all 3 as Ascendants. It brings the energies of that Planet to the forefront of what's important to that person as well. Not just as others perceive you (as in the Ascendant), but regarding what's important to YOU (the Aries quality of "what's important to ME"). THEN you would consider the Signs they are in, but I would put more emphasis on the Planets' inherent energies FIRST when considering them in terms of them simply being in the 1st House. So back to Venus, Jupiter & Neptune in the 1st House - in my mind I'd be like - this person is probably going to be very forthright and romantic. They will place a lot of importance on all matters inherent to Venus, Jupiter & Neptune. Like I could picture them falling madly in love in a foreign country, or with someone foreign. See? Did any of this help? ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

Shop,Astro has a good point about stressing the importance of the planets. Planetary energy WILL be expressed in the chart and certainly will affect the person. Perhaps another way of explaining this whole sign/planet/house thing would help! I read recently (in Mythic Astrology by Ariel Guttman and Kenneth Johnson) that we can think of the astrological chart as a play, with the costumes for the players being the signs, the players themselves are the planets, and the stage where the players are performing are the scenes in the play. So in the play you describe (Sun and Moon focused in the 1rst house) the SCENE (house) is about being and action (1rst house) but the PLAYERS (planets) are Self-expression (Sun) and Home (Moon). Now let's imagine a different part of this play, a play about Aries modifying Sun and Moon focused in the 3rd house. This time the scene is about thinking (3rd house) and the PLAYERS (planets) are Self-expression (Sun) and Home (Moon) and they are BOTH wearing costumes (signs) which indicate they are interested in their existence and on taking action.
