Hello Knowflakes.....I've been reading a lot on Chiron lately... There a lot of refrences made that this has something to do with Vulcan...that it is what is left of Vulcan.. the true ruler of Virgo... any one with any thoughts on this? IP: Logged |

Stargazer, This is what I'm confused about.Btw I'm a Virgo.Anyway,if scientists can't find Vulcan, give Virgo Chiron.Chiron was discovered in 1977.It represents the wounded/healer,as well as medicine.I say it relates more to Virgo than Sagittarius. IP: Logged |

The only thing it has in common with Vulcan, as far as I know, is that it has also been speculated to be the ruler of Virgo. Chiron, the wounded and wise healer. In mythology, Chiron was a Centure (sp?) who was fatally wounded by an arrow, I think, but was "cursed" by a god to never be able to die. So, Chiron learned to cope with the wound, and suffered great pain because of it, but distracted himself from it by teaching his skills of coping with wounds and healing to others. People would come to him from all across the land to learn his wisdoms. He was reknowned for his wisdom. But he was not a happy Centure. He had a major flaw that caused him to always be in pain. The fact that he was a centure, caused many astrologers to automatically relate him to Sagittarius - but his story really does seem more Virgo like. However, since it's only an astroid, it's not assigned to any sign, because it's not really considered a significant enough astro body. The Magi group credit it with being a do or die factor in marriages, though. IP: Logged |

In the book "Sextrology".. great book btw, it says: "There is plenty of controversy over the designation of Virgo's planetary rulership- many modern astrologers dispute Mercury's traditional rule, assigning the sign's government to the undiscovered planet Vulcan, or the fragmentary remains of what is purported to have once been a mighty celestial body, Chiron, or to Earth itself. If an argument were to ever be made for Earth's domination over the sign, Virgo woman would serve as prime supporting evidence: She embodies the slow, cyclical change of the seasons themselves. She is often a warm and sunny personality, brimming with delight and enthusiasim; while at other times, she is a cold, stoical soul capable of putting even her closest friendships on ice. That her planetary government remains a riddle offers the most insight into the Virgin woman's personality. Her lack of definitive celestial orgins gives her an aura of obscurity, a muddiness as befits her mutable-earth status."IP: Logged |

Well, if you google Magi Astrology, you'll find their website. They have done numerous studies on the astrology of famous couples, and have concluded that Chiron, both by transit and in Synastry, is the single most important body in terms of how the relationship will turn out. They consider trines, sextiles, and conjunctions to Jupiter, Venus, Moon, or Neptune to be "cinderella" aspects, (which is very good), and squares or oppositions to the same, or any aspects to the hard planets (Saturn, Mars, Uranus, Pluto) to be a bad omen. They maintain that if you choose a wedding date/time with a good Chiron aspect, your marriage will be a success. If you wed during a stressful Chiron aspect, your marriage will be doomed from the start. Same deal with the Synastry in the relationship. Look at Chiron between you. It will tell you if this is going to be a joyous relationship, or a painful, disappointing one. If the latter, that doesn't mean that you'll not be in it long term, or get alot of mileage out of it, as you may need a painful experience at this time in your life. It's just an indicator of how happy you'll be in that relationship. IP: Logged |

Stargazer, I agree that Chiron's mythology and qualities relate well with the sign of Virgo. But it's just not given the respect it deserves, because it is so small. But, Virgo is a humble sign, so even the smallness of Chiron is ideal for Virgo. IP: Logged | |
