my question is are there any aspects or configurations in a persons chart that show a potential for musical ability (singing.playing the piano. etc.)------------------

I've never known a virgo who couldn't sing or play an instrument beautifully. My favourite artist/composer, Antonio Carlos Jobim, is an Aqua with scorpio moon and libra rising.IP: Logged |

The Air Signs naturally rule singing: air..breathe of life.. etc (sorry if I sound strangely vague. Last night's festivities have left me..err.. "tired" to say the least, lol)Geminis are good at getting details. My friend Lisa blows me away in Band. She plays clarinet with me and she gets every note, exactly as it should be played. EXACTLY. She's a genius, lol. Libras love singing a good love song. And who else would appreciate a lovesick man singing a beautiful ballad to the only woman they'll ever love? Libra Rising like to be part of a musical group (band, orchestra, choir, etc.) but they may not be good at it. A lot of times, they try to give off the illusion of being good while playing, well, mediocrily (is that a word??). I would know, I'm one of them, lol. Aquas and Sag's just love everything music since it's the "international language" of everything: hate, love, war, peace, etc. Those will Taurus Venus are supposed to have awesomely beautifl voices. I read it somewhere. I'll look it up once my headache is gone, hehe. Actually, I think I read it on here one time... Cancer are good at expressing the deeper, darker emotions when it comes to music. Scorpio is the best. Pisces can be in their own world sometimes..lol. Virgoes are good at anything they put their mind to, lol. The music directors are almost Aries. My band directors works us likes dogs, lol. Okay- maybe not dogs. Maybe.. I dunno. Mules. Gosh- my Cancer garble is coming back, lol. I'll stop. IP: Logged |

When it comes to voices I think Taurus or Taurus rising has most of us beat although some Virgos & Libras can blow them away.Billy Joel, Barbara Streisand, Bing Crosby, Shirly Temple, Ella Fitzgerald, Audrey Hepburn, Liberace are all Taurus Julie Andrews, Daryl Hall (Hall & Oats), John Lennon are Libras Bruce Springstein, Michael Jackson & Gloria Estefan are Virgos actaully one of my favorite singers is a cancer...Jason Mraz, also George Michael (cancer, not fav singer..haha) IP: Logged |

I stand corrected, "The Boss" is a Libra..thank you 'Z, no offence taken  ...Jason Mraz however is a Cancer born June 23, 1977. I had always thought he HAD to be a gemini because of his quick wit BUT he does have Mercury in Gemini and his sun conjuncts his mercury or so it says in his chart which would make his speech of great importance. Earth signs really get into music. Don't think I've known one yet who doesn't like performing music or to music, I think. I've seen a good amount of Earth signs fronting bands too. We make damn good frontmen! Although I hear the true showmen always have Sag or Pisces Moons. Sag for extravagance and flair and Pisces for emotions I s'pose. Some nice little examples:
Elvis Presley- Cap Sun, Pisces Moon
Michael Jackson- Virgo Sun, Pisces Moon
Fredie Mercury- Virgo Sun, Sag Moon
and even some people have mentioned earlier-
Liberace- Taurus Sun, Sag Moon

I immediately thought of two of the great's. Mozart & Beethoven. What I found makes me think if there should be two separate queries. One for "singing" and one for "playing the piano" because I think singing is more emotive and less technically oriented. Playing the piano is more technical, until it becomes second nature and you can incorporate the emotions.It's interesting. Venus really ties in with music, and NEITHER of them have a very "creative" or soft Venus. One is in Aquarius, one in Capricorn. Both have more of a capacity for hard logic. They were both piano players. Both their MC's are in Signs which have to really feel free to express themselves. One is in Gemini, one is in Leo. Other than that, the thing they both have in common as far as the Inner Planets is the influence of Sagittarius. Mozart has Sun in Sag. Beethoven has Sun, Moon and Mercury in Sag. Case in point, lets look at the Venus' of two of the greatest singers. Celine Dion and Barbara Streisand. BOTH their Venus' are in PISCES. Very emotive. They both have determined MC's. One is in Aries, one in Capricorn. As for what their Inner Planets have in common, it's the influence of Taurus. Celine Dion has Mars in Taurus. Barbara Steisand has Sun & Mercury in Taurus. And of course, Taurus Rules the throat. ------------------
