greetings all, new member here;
my question regards natal charts that show an imbalance of signs in a particular gender. case in point: my chart has 8 masculine planets and 2 feminine. an astrology program stated that this may pose some difficulty in relationships.
i'm soliciting feedback from any who have similar charts or experience with such people. what is the personal effect of such an imbalance, and what can be done to ameliorate any negative effects caused thereby?

Welcome arkuar

Assuming by your query that you are female. I wish I knew in what context you were told that the so-called "imbalance" might be a problem. What has been your personal experience when it comes to this topic? Are you relatively new to astrology? I ask in order to know if you've researched this enough to know whether or not any challenges you have are definately due to this.

Welcome Arkuar!

There are other things to look at if you were to investigate gender balance in your chart.
For instance, if your feminine/masculine planet is in a masculine/feminine sign, what house does it occupy? The chart is divided into four parts, the angles, each angle is responsible of certain type of energy (internal, external) as some would classify these energies typically into masculine or feminine, also is your planet exalted, dignified or in detriment? On top of this, you need to examine the aspects your planets are making? You could have a voluptuosly feminine planet (Venus) diginified in Taurus but it is opposing Uranus, it loses some of its femininity -- as the mainstream definition of femininity goes or if it is opposite Pluto for example, it makes the expression of its femininity dark and even downright aggressive? You see? It is very complex, yet interesting!

From your signature, I can see you have Venus dignified in Libra, Venus conjunct Mars gives sex appeal and is attractive to both sexes actually (very true) and Venus conjunct Moon gives charm, Mars in Libra is in detriment, it loses its masculine energy. Uranus and Pluto are there as well, not sure how wide/tight the orb is.

So, one way to help you is to have you post your birth data here, and there are a lot of very nice people who could assist you in answering some of the questions you have and get you started on astrology.

Welcome again!

the program i used stated that most people have 6/4 or 5/5 balance of feminine-to-masculine signs. these are the so-called "normal people." others may have 7/3, and they may encounter some trouble, depending on the balance of their mate. It finally said that a person with more 7 signs of the same gender may have trouble in finding a workable relationship.

while i've only considered my sun sign for astrological interpretation, i lately have looked to my ascendant and other planets for additional insight. having a concentration in Libra puts my relationships on a mental level, which poses issues of its own.

i'm somewhat new to the more esoteric aspects of astrology, but have been casually studying for many years, but at a superficial level until fairly recently. and i'm not female, btw.

i have no particular reason to pin my relationship difficulty on gender imbalance; the chart and explanation thereof (given by the program) mentioned this, and i have a wish to investigate this further.

Neptune's Muse, thank you for your contribution to this topic and for your insight, and for your warm welcome. i was tempted to appeal to the community for help interpreting my chart, but felt that would be premature as i am so new to the group; i see that i was in error.

I'll tell you another reason why it's complicated is because although a Sign is either in the Feminine or Masculine category, it may be one of those Signs which produces very androgynous personalities and features. Like Aquarian and Libra men usually have a feminine quality to them, which makes them all that more irresistable to the both sexes. Yet both those Signs are categorized as Masculine.

Some of the most beautiful women I've seen are of a Feminine Sign, but have a very tomboyish quality in there gestures. It's not always so obvious, but I notice it a LOT in Virgo and Pisces women.

These mixes makes me believe that they may be able to relate to both sexes easier.
