Ok, I finally quit procrastinating and went through all 6 steps. It was a different way of saying things that I have already learned, and it added a great deal of insight.
I love the "astro-sentences" and I took notes on those I think this approach has given me the key I needed to understand better how to begin to weigh each aspect as well.
My focus is Achievement
Thanks, Tim.

Mystic,

Thanks for the nice words! I am pleased that my web site was able to help you get more out of astrology. I am a big believer that there is a LOT of detail out there, but very little about the "big picture" of astrology, so that is what I am trying to provide.

'Zala, in interest of full astro-disclosure:

(But don't tell anyone! It'll be our little secret! )

Thanking you all,

Tim

Zala,

Thanks for posting my Solar Return chart! And I am pleased to be a volunteer in your little experiment (as long as it doesn't involve any needle injections! ). The first thing I noticed was I was confused by the chart, since I have my Solar Return posted on my wall and your chart doesn't match it! The reference place is listed as Greenwich England instead of Galesburg IL and the return is for 2006.

It reminded me of all the problems that I had when I first tried to create Solar Return charts on Astrodienst. I finally realized that the section which had the "*" next to it had to be completed with the YEAR of the Solar Return chart I wanted. So if I wanted a Solar Return chart for 2005 I had to put in the year "2005" for the year of the "*" section. As to the location information, I have found it easiest to delete all the "cookies" from my browser, which wipes out all the chart information from Astrodienst. Then I input the chart information and create the Solar Return chart, and Astrodienst automatically fills in the correct location information.

All THAT being said...my Solar Return chart for this year has a stellium (collection of energy) in Libra (relationships) focused in the 3rd house (thinking, also talking, writing) conjunct South node (easy yearly goals), and I have found it VERY easy this year to relate to others in talking and writing. In fact, I have often encouraged the OTHER person to do all the talking and been perfectly happy to just LISTEN to them, something I usually don't like at ALL.

This year I have learned that "relating" to someone doesn't HAVE to mean "doing all the talking". Get someone talking about something they are interested in, and I can sit back and let them do all the "work" of the conversation. This helps, because otherwise I can get nervous about "what to say" to the other person.

Other things have been the T-square focused on Taurus (physical, also values) modifying Mars (being, also action) focused in the 10th house (duty); which has had me being strong in taking action and being responsible to my values this year. Also, with the Taurus Security emphasis, I have felt secure enough about these values to insist on them, over the protests of others.

With North node (yearly goals) focused in the 9th house (expansion, also wisdom), it has become VERY important for me to "teach others to fish" (so to speak) with astrology. I have been VERY careful to give people an oppotunity to learn and solve their own problems through astrology, by giving them a little "push" in the right direction and then giving them something to learn from (the astorlogical website). This is also the first Solar Return year I have put my website into my footer, so people have it for easy reference any time they decide to "take the plunge" into learning astrology for themselves.

When you get the new Solar Return chart, let me know what YOU see...so YOU can do all the talking and I can sit back and listen...after all, it's what comes easy to me this year! However, as fair warning, I will probably also try to teach a little in the process of answering, because that's what I have to work on this year!

Returning,

Tim

Hi Zala My plan is to let everyone get to know me a bit, form their own opinions and guesses about me, and then give out my bdate. hehe Give everyone a little astrological exercise. I have been giving a few clues along the way though!
I can't wait to read more from you too. So many people here really know their stuff. I'm loving every minute. I know I'm going to learn a lot here...
In my area, which is near where Tim was born, btw... I don't find many astrologically minded people. A few look upon my interest with... interest. But most of these midwestern folks just think I'm a delusional idiot.

Hi Tim, the "big picture" idea absolutely tied things up for me, and prepared me for my next steps. I had been in limbo for a while, as far as my astrological studies go, because I couldn't wrap my mind around the "big picture." Now I can move on, thanks to your simple explanation. Thanks again!

I would like to learn more about progressions if anyone wants to post an informative/educational thread or direct me to a previous thread containing the information.

Hi Tim ~

OK, we’re on the same page now: http://www.geocities.com/azalaksh/astro/Tim.W.Solar.Rtn.2005-2006.gif

I have often encouraged the OTHER person to do all the talking and been perfectly happy to just LISTEN to them, something I usually don't like at ALL. This year I have learned that "relating" to someone doesn't HAVE to mean "doing all the talking". It DOESN’T?!? j/k

Give me a couple days to look over the new ones I did, both for this year and next, and we’ll see if I can rise to your challenge!

PS: Dr Zala feels the same way you do about needles!!

MM ~

I’m not so far away from you here in the Midwest, and although it seems sometimes I’m surrounded by people who grew up on farms, that isn’t really the case – in fact, one of the most “spiritual” guys I’ve ever met here is in the Sales department where I work – and he was VERY open to me doing up his natal chart. I’ve known for quite awhile now that although I may wish it and dream about it, that my path is not to be sitting there reading and following my artistic inclinations by my private river in the mountains far away from the madness of civilization, but down in the trenches – rubbing shoulders with people to whom esoteric pursuits are a scary and “delusional” activity..... It’s our job to bring these new ideas to their attention, yes?!?!?

As for progressed charts, I’ve been doing a bit of reading here: http://www.cafeastrology.com/secondaryprogressions.html

See you around LL!

Zala

Hi Zala Yup. hehe I actually "grew up on a farm" for a few years. Actually, I was thinking about what I said to you (after trying to post it about 4 times without success) and I was thinking that I did find a few groups of people that I knew who did have some understanding about "occult" things, but they delved into what I considered (and told them) were dangerous dark books, and almost every one of them was or has become a drug addict or drunk.
I do know quite a few who follow the "Oprah" school of esoteric sciences (haha, don't get me wrong, I love a good Oprah), but these are the same who pretty much draw the line when it comes to astrology.
I know I am supposed to share and teach, but I was giving up hope at ME finding a teacher who wasn't in a book. Do you know what I mean?
I'm glad to be here.
And I will check out your link soon and tell you if it helps.

LOL!!!
That gave me quite a chuckle!!
And I share your despair over ever meeting in the flesh a teacher for ME..... and that old saw about 'when the student is ready the teacher will appear' makes me sad: since my teacher/avatar/guru hasn't appeared yet, obviously I'm not ready and I need to work harder/study more.....

But there are some right here at this forum who've fulfilled part of that need, more than I or they could have ever imagined!!

'Zala

PS: The Midwest is still kinda new to me -- only been here around 'The Salt of the Earth' people for about 8 years -- I lived most of my life in the Pacific Northwest.....

PPS: I guess I've missed your "clues" to your astro-ID, but I don't read every thread..... I'm usually terrible at guessing games, but I'm betting on an Airy Sun!! And there seems to be an important Fiery influence too..... OK -- let me down easy, how far off am I?!?!?

Oh and yes, my "teacher" has appeared in the form of this forum.
As I said, your guessing is correct so far, but what made you think of the fire?
