Why can't I find a book that explains how my Leo Ascendant is going to stir a girl with her Aquarius Moon or Libra Mars? Is it not considered very important? It seems new relationships, acquaintances, and first-impressions would benefit from understanding how one's planets will be influenced by another's ascendant. Or do our planets really prove themselves that quickly over the film of our ascendant tendencies? IP: Logged |

Definitely the Ascendant and Descendant are extremely important in chart comparisons. The Descendant and 7th house describes the part of us that we do not claim--or that we do not see because it is lke our back. Consequently, it gets projected on others, and especially on siginficant others. That is why most writers suggest finding people with significant points that fall in your seventh house. This kind of relationship is based on the idea that opposites attract and if you commit to a long term relationship of this kind, you and/or the other person will learn a lot from it, but it will not, necessarily, be easy. For a good long-term relationship, look for people with planets in your eleventh for friendship, and in your first for similar points of view. One very important factor is to have your Mercuries in compatible signs so that you can communicate well. Hope this helps.

Yeah, I've heard that Descendants largely represent our weaknesses, habitual failings, lacks of understanding and intolerance in relation to other people. For example, I've read that Descendent Square Moon causes a habitual negative changeability in a person. My Desc is Aquarius. I don't know exactly what that is supposed to mean. As in, my Aqua Desc in sextile to my Sag Uranus, or in square to my Scorpio Sun, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter... I can only make assumptions. Anyway, I'm just trying to find a book that includes ascendant (and/or descendant) synastry... ...any literary suggestions? IP: Logged |
