Ok I'm looking on a website and I find this piece about the 7th house and partner. If you think it's accurate please do tell and if not accurate I'd like to know that as well. Thanks (its from bob marks website)

(The Seventh House: On the horoscope wheel, the Seventh House is opposite the First. House One is you. House Seven is "other people". Specifically, it rules anyone else that you deal with as an Equal. This includes marriage and business partners of course. But it also shows your "open enemies". Some might think it strange that marriage and enemies are ruled by the same house. Others would find this very appropriate.

What most books don’t tell you is that the Seventh House rules the First marriage. If there is another marriage, it is shown by the Ninth House. How about a third marriage? A description of your third marriage (if any) is found in your Eleventh House. You see how this works? Start with the 7th House as the 1st marriage and go counterclockwise around the wheel, skipping every other house, to see all other marriages. Some people (like Elizabeth Taylor who has eight marriages) have to go completely around the wheel!

To find out more about your first marriage partner, turn your horoscope wheel upside down so that the Seventh House is on the left side, where the First house is normally located. Then, Re-number the houses. House number 7 becomes house 1, the 8th house becomes house 2, and so on. Now read that chart as if it were the horoscope of your marriage partner.)

If its true that would be such cool information to have!

I put this question myself many times!

I personally think first of all 7th house gives the general "colour"/ type of what relationship you will attract in a marriage whatever is first or n-rd. To this you can add some more influence from that 2nd to 7th, or 9th house, which can gives you more informations.

So, I do thing the "real house" of the number of marriage you are in, it does matter, but I didn't find more information to study it more deeply to can tell you more.

In my case first marriage was with an older man ... I have 7th cusp in capricorn, but very near of the sag. so, he was foreinger as well! The ruler of Capricorn is Saturn, which in my chart is in aries. And surprise! ... He was an aries!
But I must say this marriage was a kind of arrangement and last only few months. And I don't even know if I should consider it real marriage or not! Ok was first one but because second one is a serious real one, I wonder sometimes if I sholud consider ( this last one ) the second one or first one!

And before this "first husband", I was in a 8 years relationship with another man who was 14 years older than me, so again "saturn touch" for relationship!

Second marriage again with foreigner man! Ok, I have Sun conjunct Jupiter, so maybe that's why ... But not other straight clues I can see. And is a cold relationship, plus because his culture and religion I have a lot of restrictions! So even is second one, some general caracteristics are from my main house of marriage, the 7th.

If I look like you said the cusp of my 9th house to be HE and start counting the houses from this point,I find some matching things, for example my Saturn will fall in his (now) 3rd house ( and he has some difficulties in/with school ) in his 4th is falling his moon in gemini ( maybe moon is me - the wife, at home as I usually stay with kids ) in his 7th is my Sun / Jupiter ( his foreigner wife - me, plus because of marriage he is living aboard! ) in his 9th is falling his sun ( we met during a trip made by me )

But what I've noticed to my chart, even I am a bit off topic is the number of aspects the Sun does! I think was other topics on this subject before...the number of aspects the Sun does - for a woman and the number of aspect Moon does - for a man can show the numbers of marriages in smb's life.

In my case Sun makes three aspects:

  • Sun is trine Saturn = first older man = Saturn in aries is in fall so doesn't last... then ...

  • Sun conjunct Jupiter = second man which is foreigner and plus totally different culture, religion, from which btw i want to divorce soon = Jupiter is in trigonocracy in leo so maybe that's why it last for a while and

  • Sun square Mars = ... who knows maybe will be the 3rd one in the future... = I will let you know Mars is in scorpio in his own teritory so hopefully will be happy lasting one

I am courious as well for other opinions!
Anybody else can help?

Well, I'm 42 and never married. I have seven aspects to my Sun...
My 7th house is ruled by Aqua. My saturn is in the 7th house and I guess I'l probably never marry or marry really really late.

I have heard of this method - a local astrologer of mine did show me this method and I think it makes sense and it's pretty neat. It seems to add more to when I read for my friends.

As for marriage - I have never walked down the aisle and not sure if I ever will. I have Uranus in the 5th trine Asc and MC. My boyfriend has a lot of sag planets which matches my 7th house.....

Cynnared, what did you think about the dynamics of that reversed chart:

Does that natal personify those that you *attract* or is it of those that *you are attracted to* ?
