Does anyone know how you're supposed to determine if you've learned the life lessons you're supposed during (or before) the Return of Saturn?

It is different for different ppl. Somehow you will know. And I say that ppl that know about the Saturn return situation have a better chance at getting the lesson towards anything that is bringing you pain and drama and whatever else it consist of. I went through it and I remember all that I was taught and learned.. Mostly Spirituality for me..

Thanks MM, I'm wondering if I learned anything *at all*. LOL. It seems that I keep on making the same relationship mistakes, but something you posted in another thread spoke to me. About us mirroring people who've gone through our same experiences. But how we have to work on ourselves to attract different people. That is so true. "You attract what/who you are". I guess in order to change our circumstances, we first need to change ourselves. Makes sense, but ah! that the heart would listen and follow suit. Hard for a moonchild, sometimes.

Vgirl I do know exactly what you are talking about. Many times I have attracted the same type of guys over and over and over and I kept trying to figure out, why do I keep falling for these idiots. But the truth lyed in me. I mirrored aalot of their ways.

Case in point. I have a friend that attracts crazy ppl not just in relationships but the weird crazy guys on the street. We were walking one morning from the train to the job and this crazy man just started I saw him as we approached but she did not. He was like B#$%$ I will do this I will do that. I was looking at him like try it. Not for the mess this morning.

Then she was like he only approached us bc of me. I always attract ppl like that. Well I figure that to be true cause those type of ppl never bother me, but I had to think when she said that. Anyway she went to tell me how she went through spousal abuse and her mom and aunts all went through it ect.ect.

So you can have a bad spirit on you and you have to get it off. I told her get rid of that spirit. It does take alot of work and soul searching. And yes the heart wants what the heart wants. The mind barely wins..

Wow. That's so true, MM. About the whole spiritual thing. I hadn't really stopped to think about it. Good point...Hope your friend gets some help in dealing w/that. Now that you mention it, I have a friend like that too. (Don't we all)?

victoriasgirl,

Look at the sign and house position of Saturn (duty) to find out about Saturn "life lessons" you are working on.

Explaining the basics,

Tim

Hi Vic Girl! For me my 1st Satrun ret, almost 14 years ago was not so much about the lessions to be learned, but about life changes that pointed me in a whole different direction! I gave birth to my 2nd child, a daughter born under the sign of Aquarius, who will be 14 soon. She was born with a severe heart defect and in a matter of years I went from a mundane career in banking to nursing all due to the fact that I was fascinated with the technology of the medical field and felt quite compelled to "give back" what the medical community had given Samantha. I had never wanted to be a nurse, but now I am an ICU RN and love my job! I am much more into spiritual and soul healing than physical (I believe the former follows the latter.) It is interesting to note that my natal Saturn is is Aquarius.

I also am intrigued about what you and mama have had to say about attracting certain individuals into our lives. I believe we attract those who we may achieve the best learing experiences from, be it a casual encounter to a "romantic" relationship. I do tend to attract those who at a glance are not that good for me, but at a closer look, if I learned from the relationship and the wounds healed that attracted that person in the first place then...Yea!!! I also, being a pisces sun, attract the wierdest folks, from the homeless, addictive, downtrodden. to stalking ex's! Does this happen to you MAMA? I have had to learn to be VERY careful in chosing those to let closely into my energy field!

Peace, Love and Light!
Me......

Hey hippichick..Uhm I do attract some wierdo's a lil but I think do to my Aqua aspects like moon, merc, venus and Asc I become very standoffish and aloof, I mean to the point where they are afraid to approach me after the first meeting. That is bc I am not feeling them and I make no quams about showing it, I can't say it bc I really hate to hurt others feelings if I can avoid it. But you know what I mean.

Being a Pisces female is a blessing and can be seen as a curse bc of all the things that we absorb, I absorb stuff I have no business absorbing...

I had my second child during my Saturn return also, that was a blessing in its self..My child was healthy though. The Saturn return thing is deeper then I can even explain here.

hippi chick Aqua men always teach me some type of lesson but guess what I teach them a lesson or two also. They may pull away and act distant and aloof, but I promise you after they get the revelation they always want to return even if its years later..

I can almost see you and me feeling the same way and handling it the same way. If you understand what I am saying..

Sorry to rant on and on on your thread Vgirl..

Oh Mama, "tears that fall..." (sorry had to borrow lyrics from an old Rush song!)
We so much feel alike! You have touched my heartand soul! I love what you said about aqua men and the lessons we have for each other. Though I have found this to be true with another signifigant other; Libra male in my past.
With my highly infulenced Aqua side (mars, merc, jup close conj in aqua and saturn several degrees before in aqua) you would think that I would be able to detach from those strange folks, but I just feel so much for them.....
In my job and my life I have to make a concious effort to come "home" and re-center myself and rid myself of all that stuff I have accumulated "out there." Painful as it can be, it is who we are and I would not have it any other way.
I too am sorry, VGirl, bout using posting on your thread, you know how it is when you connect....................................

No problem,MM!

We're all here to learn and what better way to do so than through talking. We all can learn through each others experiences.

BTW. Tim, I have a ?. My Saturn's in Gemini, which is supposed to show me how to be a more effective communicator. I'm a writer (I think), but I doubt my talents and abilities HIGHLY. So much so that I hardly ever share my writings with others for fear (of ridicule and/or rejection). The fear is truly paralyzing. Can that fear be attributed to Saturn? Is that what I need to overcome?

victoriasgirl,

You asked:

Yes, I think that is it! You have a writing (Gemini) restriction (Saturn). Take a look at what house this writing restriction is focused in to get a better idea of what area in life you feel this restriction...and of what to focus on in order to overcome it.

Agreeing,

Tim

Ok Tim, thanks! I think that restriction is about my writing. The restriction I impose on my talent is probably what I need to overcome because it's a vital part of me which I fear exposing becauses it exposes me. Wow! Thanks Again!

Perhaps not the best time/place to insert this quote from lalalinda, may help (or not).....
quote:
I'll take a Saturn transit any day compared to a Pluto transit.

Saturn says straighten up and start taking responsibility for your actions. Its karmic so your lessons are beyond your immediate control. You deal with what life serves you and you do the best you can. Never take the low road or your lessons will never end. Saturn kills confidence kind of like a drill SSG but once you have hit bottom and let go of all the incorrect preconcieved notions he builds you back up better than ever. The worse thing you can do is feel sorry for yourself because then you wallow in self pity and Saturn will not stop untill his mission is complete.

I know this post sounds kind of mean and unsympathetic and I'm sorry about that but the only way to get through this is with this attitude and understanding.

It's true that the heart wants what the heart wants, and you can rarely make your mind win.. ( Thanks Mama Mia!)

If I didn't know astrology, I'd still be going through this movement. But astrology helps me to categorize and makes me feel connected to others, through similar life experiences. This is beyond control, which is not comfortable for me.
I have Saturn in my first house, Leo.. as we all know, Saturn is in Leo right now... I am going through my Saturn return in my first house, and it is true.. it's all about me.
I have felt it growing for years, but definately the last year, the choices I have defaulted to can't be justified anymore.. now I am working hard to be a more conscious person.. about my needs and wants, and how I can be a positive contributor to my life. I feel 'woken up'.
I feel that I have to do something.. and a lot of seemingly negative experiences pave the way for me to take responsibility and own where I will be.
This feels biger than I can explain, I am affected hugely by it.
What worked before, isn't working anymore.. So I am getting my act together... for instance... I finally got my G1.. and I am twenty nine. I am taking a business course, the first of many, as well as Yoga for spiritual stillness. I am not content anymore to just be who I was, which lead me to where I am.. I have to focus on me. Redefine my relationships and the fated things that happen.. determine whether I am following a pattern, or really learning what I want.
It is a very selfish time.
I have been doing family things since before I was an adult... I had my son at eighteen ( Barely) and I am aware most people think about having kids at this time in their life, while I have been doing it for over eleven years.
I am hoping and I do know, inwardly, that Saturn's lessons wil make me a stronger person.. they are necessary lessons, though not all happy.
I hope this helped a little.. It is validating.
Thanks for leting me go on......

Haha, thanks MG, I agree going through it sux but oh well, we all have those lessons to learn. I think in hindsight they were better to have learned than not and to keep making the same mistakes, so in a weird way, I think Saturn does us a favor. Kind of like a strict disciplinarian dad. At the time, you hate him, but in retrospect, you understand he was doing it with your best interest in mind. Kind of a weird analogy, but it's the only way I know how to describe it. Thanks, Peri! I'll look into it! Thanks PP for your insight! Good Luck to all in their Saturn Returns! Love, vic
