Here are a couple reasons why scientists don't accept astrology.

1) Gravity- Gravity is a very weak force. In plain mathematics, the doctor who delivered you as a baby had a stronger gravitational pull on you than the planets.

2) Precession- Our ancestors assigned constellations to certain times of the year to mark the phases of the Zodiac. Thousands of years ago, constellations alligned with their signs. That is to say, the constellation of Aquarius was in the sign of Aquarius. But because of Precession, the constellation of Aquarius is now in Pisces, and in early March you can look into the night sky and see the Aquarius constellation.

If you were to ask an Astronomer in the month of March what sign the sun was in, he would look through his telescope and he would tell you "the sun is in Aquarius". And from a purely technical stand point, he would be correct.

In fact, between November 30th and December 17th, there is no Zodiac constellation position, as the Sun is in the constellation of Ophiuchus.

Although the stars are WAY WAY further away than the planets in our own solar system, this is enough for the science community to disregard Astrology, although Astrology has everything to do with the 18 degrees of the Ecliptic and NOTHING to do with the stars.

Our ancient ancestors merely used constellations as "markers" for the changing of one sign to another; a method that has since become outdated, but unfortunately seems to be one of the main arguments Astronomers use against Astrology.
