It eluded me for a while. Why are scorpios often so secretive even in casual interactions? I think its because they know the butterfly effect. They seem to think like this...they realize that anything they say and anything they do can expand in unforseen and possibly negative ways. I think thats the root of it all. Thats why they don't tell people what they're up to no matter how big it is, they will lose control of the situation. They only tell others once they've ascertained that they have complete authority over the situation. I think thats also the way to keep the lizards from screwing you over. Don't tell them important information about your nature. That means emotional disposition, how you think etc. Maybe I'm just rambling for no reason, but thats how I started to see it recently...IP: Logged |

Man, I know ALOT about scorpios. I would say about one third of all people close to me are scorpios and a few of the other people in my life have a scorpio moon. In fact, some days I wish I did not know as much as I do. But I will agree with Odd...that whole secretive thing is highly accurate.IP: Logged |

oddball,What you said is very true. What made you come to this? That is deep With scorp rising conjunct mars I behave like that exactly.. "Why are scorpios often so secretive even in casual interactions?" They need time to investigate whats going on so it can give them the power they need to use for any problem yes, but also sick head games hahah "Thats why they don't tell people what they're up to no matter how big it is, they will lose control of the situation" I dont think a scorpio would ever back out on a possible unpredictable threatening situation of losing control. They might wanna avoid it, since they dont like interference from others, but if it happens, they wouldnt have any problem being in control no matter what. "Don't tell them important information about your nature. That means emotional disposition, how you think etc" I think the scorpios are dying to find someone to expose to and tell all about their nature though. And I think the scorp secretiveness is some kind of sensual/sexual headgame either with oneself or others. Its an obsession. IP: Logged |

I'm an 8th house Sun, and I'm secretive for a variety of reasons. One is to avoid judgment on the more controversial aspects of my nature. Another is to ensure I'm not the center of attention when I don't want to be. Another would be that when I'm flying under the radar I'm free to gather more information (because no one is paying attention to me). Another reason is to avoid being used. If people don't know what I'm up to, they can't base their plans around me.IP: Logged |

look that topic..yes;all scorpios are loves headgames whatever it constitues..they hate losing the control..they always want to be cool..and they are so cool..they like secrets and they dont trust easily..they firstly watch, then they act... i am scorpio girl,my mercury is also scorpio i love secrets..i followed the miystic people..so why i working in science.... but FOR ME actual reason is that for being such a behaviour; not be upset and not to be look bad...i think pride and fear ... Neval,I agree 100%, although I think that Scorps innate understanding of controlling what they fear is somewhat impressive... in a sick way of course. IP: Logged |

How did I come up with this? Well I like to consider myself a no bullsh*t type of guy. What you see is what you get, even if I don't show much. I find that most scorpios come to trust me very very well after some time. If they trust you, they will do things like pull you over to the side during a party and say something like "look at that guy, he's making a fool of himself. I don't trust him, he talks too big and too much. now that guy over there, he's a genius. listen to what he says. oh sh*t, someone is coming over. talk to you later..." One of my scorp friends seems so extroverted, he prolly has a saggi ascendant. But there were so many facets of his personality and plans I never got to see until he was sure that what he was seeing was the real deal....IP: Logged |

Idk if I count for this. I'm a 1st house Scorpio Sun I don't appear to be secretive AT ALL. Most people think I'm telling all of my most personal information. Even I catch myself telling secrets, or starting to. BUt that butterfly effect thing does seem kind of accurate, for me at least.
Maybe cuz my mouth moves before my mind and emotions. SO I always find myself in ruts, and things I say come back to haunt me, and I hate my personal business being out there, even though I love bragging about it..
I think overall tho it's a fear of being misunderstood and not being understood at all, cuz I hate it more than anything when you say something you think is intelligent or matters and all you get is confused "what the hell are you talking about" looks. it makes me feel like an idiot. so i'd rather look like an idiot than open my mouth and remove all doubt.
