Ooooh...

I found this easy way to remember Decanates. I know there's a lot more to this, but it's a basic rule :::

"Every sign is 30 degrees in arc and a Decanate is 10 degrees of the sign.
Thus there are three decanates to a sign.
There are three signs in each element - fire, earth, air and water .
The most commonly used Decanate system uses the element and those signs in the same element , as a base for determining rulers of the decanates.
There are other systems but this is the easiest one to remember and makes sense!
Decanates are similar to the "Faces" of Traditional Astrology except that the rulerships are not so clear cut as the modern system illustrated below.
If a planet is in the first 0 to 9 degrees 59' of a sign, it is ruled by the ruler of that sign. But if in the second 10, i.e. 10 to 19 degrees 59' , there is influence from the ruler of the next sign in the same element , going in zodiacal sequence. The 3rd decanate, 20 degrees to 29 degrees 59' is influenced by the third sequential sign in the elemental triad. The following table should clarify this."
