Out of interest, does anyone know what degree of orb is permissible when determining aspects to the north node? In particular, aspects between Ascendant and NN.

Ask 20 astrologers this question and you might get 20 different answers! Orbs are VERY personal to astrologers. Personally I use an eight degree orb for North node conjunctions.
