What do you think of a relationship with someone whos Sun sign is squared with yours? Just wanting some opinions. I have been in a few long term relationships with Aries sun and I am Cancerian.
I know al ot depends on the other planetary placements as well. I also think that alot of it has to do with Mercury aspects as far as communication goes. I look forward to your responses... THANKS>

I think cancer and aries aren't too shabby as a couple. The Aries sets up a home and marries a Cancer because of their sensitivity and emotional nature. On the other hand Cancer hugely looks up to Aries as a sort of boss or father figure. With Aries taking on the world with such fever and enthuisiasm, cancer can't help but admirer such outright bravery!

Squared suns for me would be Pisces and Virgo.

I have had some good friends with sun in Virgo. I get on with them despite the square - maybe because of the Mercury influence over Gemini and Virgo. My best friend is a Virgo sun.

I have not had much luck with Pisceans though. I guess the closest is my mother whose sun AND moon square mine and I find it very hard to tune into her wavelength.

Remmember,a squared sun with a loved one can also mean the possibility of your Sun being near their asc/dsc and vice versa. We all fundamentally square our inner selves in astrology, its the way we grow.
Squares and oppositions - I adore them.

What joy can we derive from loves harmony if we cannot embrace loves discord?
Let there be the challenges, its the way we truly find ourselves and others.

I'm a Cap and my significant other is a Libra, although the suns don't technically form a square aspect. It mostly seems "interesting" because the other person sees the world pretty differently so it is definitely an opportunity for growth. Make sure you check whether your suns are square in a cardinal, fixed, or mutable modality because that makes a difference too. And btw, astro.com has a section on sun-sign compatibility, it's pretty good.

My mother was a Cancer and my father an Aries. They were married for over 30 years.

I know what you mean. A Virgo & Pisces, a physical love match made in heaven. The love technician and the mystic.

Welcome all, good buddies. Be friendly and I'll be nice.

Hi Mama,

Touchstone would either be a Gemini or a Sagittarius (both form squares to Pisces and Virgo). But I think she is a Sag from what I remember

I'm an Archer and I do get along quite well with Virgo people (mostly men, the women and I have a contentious relationship at times- but only in person. Online it doesn't seem to come through as often). I also have Pluto and my Ascendant in Virgo - which may be why I attract Virgo men or men with strong Virgo planets in their charts.

I also get along with Pisces (mostly women - but a few men as well). The women and I seem to share alot of the same qualities (the duality) but if a woman is any other sign and has a Pisces or Cancer moon (mostly the former) I have an EXTREMELY hard time with them. My Aries moon and Sag planets just find that moon position in women to be to vague or sneaky (DISCLAIMER: not that they are..okay..so please Pisces and Cancer mooners.. I am not saying you are).

The hardest square I had was with a friend that wanted to date me. He was a Virgo Sun / Cancer Moon / Mercury, Venus, Pluto and his rising sign all in Virgo. His only fire planet was Mars in Leo (and it was located in the 12th house). He had an explosive temper and was extremely intense.

For me to be around him just made me incredibly uncomfortable - especially when I knew he had developed feelings for me.

My ex husband is a Virgo Sun / Mercury with his Moon in Gemini. We got along well and his Leo Venus / Mars made him uber sexy... he just wasn't sexual LOL...

Now this new guy, the Leo may pose a few problems even though our sun signs for a TIGHT trine. He has his moon in Pisces - which conjunct my Mars in Pisces and squares my Venus (it forms a loose square to my Sun).

His Venus in Virgo forms a tight square with my Sun (within 1 degree) and conjuncts my Pluto and loosely squares my Venus in Sag while opposing my Mars in Pisces (Again this is very loose since it is outside of the 10 degree orb).

At the same time, my Saturn in Taurus conjuncts his Mars, square his Jupiter in Aquarius and loosely squares his Sun.

LOL....

Sooo..... it really doesn't matter too much about the Sun - it is really about those other planets that can cause a HUGE problem.

I agree with you about Mercury. If Mercury doesn't click with the planets then all communication is lost. The ex Taurus fiance had a Virgo moon, Mars in Pisces and Mercury in Gemini. His Mercury and the majoriy of my planets did NOT get along. Half the time his words were just lost on me and personally I felt his Mercury was too lightening fast for his slow nature.

Ahhh...relationships are so tricky

Hi, Mama-Mia -
I was saying that Pisces and Virgo were both squared to MY sun (Gemini), not to each other!

Ya ..opposites attract thats for sure. And squares?? repel? Naw..; there is definately alot of "sexual" chemistry .. from what i noticed especially ARies/Cancer.
I think people have alot to learn from theyre squared.. signs.. and opposites. My opposite is Capricorn and also my N.Node is in Cappy too.

Yeah I agree tbone - My Sun/Jupiter/MC are opposite my girlfriends Sun, Jupiter and Ascendent, but that also means my Sun/Jupiter/MC are conjunct her Decsendent, North Node and Moon - so there are differences and polarisation between us, but also intimate affection in understanding and accepting our differences - they make us feel more alive.
Squares offer another dynamic, and just like you said, they challenge us to be more, thats why they feel difficult.

I get along great with virgos and pisceans, but virgo mooners drive me nuts. I like virgos partly because they are very welcoming people and don't expect anything from anyone and like to keep things simple. Very easy people to talk to, they never have any barriers up, and are the type of people you want to tell all your problems to.

Although I love pisceans, they are always walking through a fog. They don't know if they are going left or right, up or down, and it makes me nervous sometimes.

This is what piscean energy is like to me... a soft beam of light cutting through a cloud floating by on a fresh spring day, during a daydream, while you lie down in cool, thick green grass.

I think squared Mutable signs can work out great. I've actually seen a good number of happy Pisces/Sagittarius couples... usually Sag girl, Pisces guy.

Squared Fixed signs are no good together.

I have experienced a lot of physical attraction with Geminis - both ways.

Saggies, not had much experience with in truth. But I have seen it work well, and yes the girl was a Sag.

I am and have always been hooked on the look of Gemini. Stunning elven features. Gorgeous.

You have a point there SW. I have an ex boyfriend that I still talk to every now and again. He is a Pisces (Aries moon / Venus in Aries). We hit it off right away, but it was just the wrong place, wrong time (He wanted to get married and I had just graduated from college and wanted to get into the workforce).

I think it is much easier for a Sag woman to be with a Virgo man / Pisces man versus her opposite the Gemini man - at least in my opinion

I was married to someone, our suns were squared....I Scorpio...he Aqua....are they both fixed?

Very very drawn to each other, but should never have gotten married or lived together.....would have been a wicked friendship....silly me......dont see him anymore....

Love Aquarians, but maybe not to live with.....just as friends or possibly as a lover......maybe ?

Taurus here... I adore Leos. I'm sure that it has a lot to do with the fact that my Dec is in Capricorn and my Saturn is in Leo... but anyways...

It has a lot to do with the individual and the way that their chart is set up.

I'm a Sag and two of my best girlfriends are Virgos. (One is my roommate now!)

ooo, this gives me hope for the new guy, Pisces. I've always had a deep respect for Pisceans. Probably due to my strong Neptune placement.

I am Scorp so for me it would be Aqua and Leo. I get along great with Aquas but not with Leos.I would say I don't know Leos much. I would be interested to know how many Aquas really get along with Leos ? Opposite Signs....

It is Cappy and Cancer for me.
I get along very well with my cappy sister( her moon, venus conj my moon, mars conj my sun) but not with all cappys.
One of my best friends is a cancer, and he is the only cancer friend I got!

well since my rising and sun are opposed eachother, it's aries and libra either way.

With aries, I get along extremely well with the girls. The only aries guys I know are my two half brothers (who just so happen to be twins). These two are like tornadoes I mean, hott damn.

Unfortunately with libra suns (and even moons and risings) I don't get along with either sex. They are like the thorn in my side and stone in my shoe. I'll admit they can dress their asse$ off though.
