i had a funny thought today, about how there are mixups during a mercury retrograde....wondering maybe people born under these times birthtimes were messed up on their birth certificate, or they were mixed around and the wrong baby was given to a mother....just odd thoughts....

Shop- Hi, In my case I believe so. Mercury retro 9th. My b-certificate states a 1:15 birth time. Now you know and Iknow that the chances of birth at a conveniant increment say...1:15 as opposed to a 1:14 or a 1:16 are fairly rare. Back in the day [when I was born] attention to exact birth times seemed limited. I was born in a military hospital, delivered by a military DR. Therefore I have believed the time was correct. Having Mercury retro at the time of birth may enable inacuracies....I think you are onto something. See....in my case a 1:15 birth gives me Virgo rising at -DRUMROLL.......0 degrees. If I go even one minute less I'm at Leo 29 degrees. Through my own reaserch I have concluded that LEO ,not Virgo is rising. Because of Mercury retro? I don't know. My luck was either good or bad depending on how you feel about Pluto in 12th conjuct Ascendant

I'm not sure about that. Mercury does primarily express the communicative mind of the person of the chart. Other things seem more likely to speak of bloodline and such.

The moon and sun say something about the relation to the mother and the father. The 8th House speaks about bloodline, the 4th about home and family.

Generally speaking, what the chart can show is if complications in blood relations have significant consequences for the person. Let's say, an alienated relation to the parents. I think that it is hard to establish through a chart if that alienation is due to a baby mix-up or not, but it might be.

If everything is fine in the family, it might be very hard to see any trace of a baby mix-up, even if that's the case.

One might learn more about this by studying charts of adopted children. I don't know to what extent a chart deals with actual parents or acting parents. Maybe there has been a study of it?
