Topic: Is it me, or do Aquarians have the strongest memories?

Hey WN how are ya??? Now having alot of Aqua in my Chart I remember everything, And so do Aqua's. They act absentminded but they are not really. Just the other day my Aqua friend mention to me something that I had forgotten that we had found out together..They do not forget.. IP: Logged |

Cancers have memories like elephants too!  Especially when it comes to things that hurt us. haha. I've had more than one boyfriend complain that I never forget anything.IP: Logged |

My memory is very strange. I remember many, many trivial details and exact actions that have happened as if I had a reference to go off of. Big events, however, are very flighty.IP: Logged |

Hmmm... I find that Sagittarians have spectacular memories. They're always able to quote things out of the blue.Maybe it depends on the type of memory, too. I have a great short term memory that was great for test taking in school. As far as long term memory, I'm best with my musical memories. I can remember music I created eons ago, but then that might be because I still go over the old songs every now and again. In general, I'd say I'm with MNF. My memory isn't always great, and like her I create systems to help me remember, which is really a better route anyway. Frees up my mind for more useful things. Isolaede mentioned hurts. Yeah, I remember those too, but I may be more forgiving than a Cancer sun. I've got a Cancer SN. IP: Logged |

WN,we have an aqua at home and he *NEVER* forgets anything, including things that others were supposed to remember but didn't. No idea how he's so good at it. AG, you mentioned creating mental systems to help you organize your thoughts. Would that be a mercury in capricorn placement? Personally I'm very good with long term memory but horrible with short term (aka people will ask me what I had for breakfast the previous day just to tease me knowing it probably won't come to me). She also has a 3rd house moon. She NEVER forgets anything. It completely amazes me. She seems to have a pictorial memory and can recall events that happened a long time ago. IP: Logged |

My mother is an Aquarius (sun) and has a FANTASTIC memory.She can remember things that i did when i was a teeny weeny baby or things that happened to her when she was 6 or 7.
The bad aspect of this ability is,that due to her Scorpionic moon,she tends to use that powerful memory in order to recollect my faults and keep reminding them to me in a harsh and punishing manner.  Anyway,i got a great memory too.
I got my moon and my Ceres in the 11th house but since i am such an astrology newbie,i wonder if a Jupiter in Aquarius/6th house would have any significance here. IP: Logged |

Look for the Cancer influences...or Scorpio. I have never heard of any 'air' signs being known for having the best memories....instead, look for further influences, not just the Sun. It is too difficult to generalize anyone based on the Sun sign only...the remainder placements round up one's tendencies towards characteristics....check out her chart and see what else is probably giving her a great memory! So I’m not the only one!!!! Their memory is crazy strong. If I lose something, I’ll ask my brother.Hi MM, I’m doing well thanks  how about you? But GemStar is it true!!! She’s one of my closest friends, and has her Sun, Moon and Mercury in Aqua. My Brother has the same placements, and has an incredibly strong memory. I was talking to my Aqua aunt the other day, she’s visiting the UK, and she already knows it better than me. Places I’ve been to millions of times, I can’t remember the name of…but she can!!! And it’s not just them, I know plenty of Aquas ( for some reason  ) and they’re all the same. It may have something to do with them being fixed, though I’m not entirely sure. I know what you mean by air signs and memories tho - my mum’s a Libra and dad’s a Gemini

What is your friend's ASC??I was married to an Aquarius...he had a Cancer ASC and Cancer Moon....so I always attributed it to that...not his Aqua sign. My Sun Sign is Gemini, but with a Cancer Moon, Merc and Jup and Scorp ASC, THAT is where my indelible memory is sourced, not my air influence. Linda Goodman really gives highest kudos for excellent memory to Cancer I believe. Scorpio has a mention or two as well...I do not recall anything written about Aquas and being the 'best memory' prize. It is not that I don't believe you! Ha,ha...no, it is just the fact that Aqua is not traditionally known for having the best memories out of all the signs...not even ranked in the top two! I will still surmise that there are Cancer or Scorpio influences (ASCs) which attribute to better memories! But hey, there are always exceptions in astrology....My step-mom is Aqua and she is flighty all over the place!! Not a good memory for a second! Do you know your friend's ASC?  GemStar IP: Logged |

Which is why I find it so weird. When it comes to strong memories, Taurus, Scorpio and Cancer are the top 3, while aqua is last :/ or somewhere at the bottom.My friend’s asc is Libra, and my brother’s is Leo. You know, I have a feeling that Mercury DOES have something to do with better memory! Jupiter certainly could lend it's hand with being 'expansive' in knowledge...Now I am wondering if house placements might also help with memory retention...my 9th is Cancer and where my Merc and Moon are conjunct. This helps me tremendously but doesn't answer the Aqua question.... My personal feeling is that good memory is helped by HOW we store the information...so, Mercury influences here I would think make a difference! A Mercury in Cancer will remember through attaching 'emotion' to the memory...how do you think a Mercury in Aqua (for example) would store memory? IP: Logged |

I'll stick by my Sag assertion. I've dated mostly Cancers, and I've never once been struck by how astute thier memory is. In fact, I've been called by a Cancer to recall for them the name of a band they tried to get me into. I didn't even like the band, but I remembered it. Taureans. My best friend is a Taurus, and he's great with long term memory in a visual sense, but he misplaces things all the time, so he doesn't have the short term thing down. Then I've also known Taurus' like my boss who remembers doing things that she didn't actually do. More than once she's claimed to have asked me to do something, and I know it's not the case because the tasks are so simple I'd have done them immediately. jkxx quote:

Nope. I'm a Cap Sun and Jupiter, but my Mercury is in Sag (which is known for overlooking the details). And my systems aren't mental, they're physical. In Outlook I constantly make myself tasks, which have reminders you can set up. Makes it really easy to remember to do something. I also remind myself via email to myself, and notes written just to the left of my left hand thumb. IP: Logged |

My rising is Aqua and I remember everything.My boyfriend is Cancer and I have to constantly remind him of the daily trivial stuff ------------------

WN-Aren't you a Pis Sun?? Probably a difficult placement for one to naturally possess a good memory...and your Mercury in Aqua...well, that would 'squash' your Aqua (good memory) theory right there!  IP: Logged |

It's really hard to say whether a person's sun sign could be attributed to a fabulous memory...I know a lot of Aquas, but I can't say that they all have really good memories. One Aqua guy I know has an almost photographic memory, remembering things about ME that I had forgotten I had told him. I was gonna say that Scorpios have the strongest memories, as far as I know... but it seems someone beat me to it.I call my SIL/Best-friend/Business Partner my external brain. She remembers EVERYTHING. (Scorpio Sun, Libra Moon, Aqua Rising) My memory, personally, is terrible. Mostly Air up there in my head... no room for memories! I've got Aquarius Mercury conjunct Sun/Mars, but opposite Jupiter. My memory works in odd ways. When Im trying to recall something I just can do it...but my recollections will pop up when I least expect it, and long after I've forgetten why I as trying to remember some past event. Also when I try to recall things they don't stay in my head for long...they're very elusive thoughts, so the best thing for me would be to jot down those thoughts before my mind jumps off to something else. It seems to me that Aquas remember things they want to remember and things that happened/were discussed when they were mentally wholly present. They seem to have on/off swithch in their brain and when they have been off, they obviously have nothing to remember. I know an Aqu who seems to know everyhing there is to know about history. She once described the sequense of historic events as a spiral and when she needed to add new data about some event or period she imagined it to the right place on the spiral. ------------------
