hey you : ) I haven`t been here for a while. So what triggers the Arcs? Transits do not affect the Arched planets per se. Solar Arched planets and secondary progressed planets do not see each other either. But when a natal planet in your chart has become activated by a Solar Arc progressed planet via square, opposition or conjunction and when this same natal planet is under fire by a transiting planet then things happen, no way to escape that. No matter how you twist and turn it, the planets are gonna getchu. Square, opposition, conjunction doesnt mean the effect will be negative, it only means - action, and the nature of the natal planet tells what part of your life will be affected. Hope that helps a little. IP: Logged |

thanks Jazz!that makes a lot of sense, as i've been delving into the morass that is Tyl's book -- have you read it? it's really long, but it's good. i think basil fearington (i dont think i spelled his last name right) has a primer for those who are interested. it's styled like a workbook, and i probably should have gotten that one first as tyl's "solar arcs" is more complex. ive also learned lunations on the arced to planet or point are good for activating arcs. so is a corroborating transit, like...tyl gives one example, when babs streisand retired from showbiz a few years ago she was having her 2nd saturn return, saturn rules her midheaven, and she was experiencing the arc of MC=mercury. this sort of all works together to suggest she was thinking about retiring. thanks again!
