flower,

Any person's planet conjunct another person's South node (the past) indicates that the planetary person may hold the South node person back in life in some way, usually indicated by the planet which conjuncts the South node. With your Venus (relationships) conjunct their South node, your relationship to them could hold them back in some way.

Explaining,

Tim

Tim, if someone has Venus conjunct their South Node, would you say that this is someone who regards relationships as a burden? Discarding it altogether?

I am trying to study aspects that make someone avoidant in terms of relationships (not just commitment phobic) but avoiding the whole thing from A to Z.
Uranus on the IC could be quite notorious in regards to that, don't you think?

Muse,

I think it is actually just the opposite...relationships (Venus) are TOO easy for this person. Relationships become a way of being comfortable "where they are" (South node) rather than in trying to develop themselves (North node). However, even when this person works at developing their future goals (North node) they will STILL have a strong interest in relationships, for we can never ignore South node connections, but they will feel that they have to move BEYOND relationships in order to develop themselves.

This is different from someone who simply doesn't like relationships at all. I think combinations of Libra/Venus/7th house (relationships) with Aquarius/Uranus/11th house (friends, also rebellion or close but not TOO close) indicate the need for freedom in a person. In order to have the extreme result (avoid relationships entirely) there most likely would have to be a highly traumatic event which occurred in the person's life which "taught" them that all relationships were dangerous. Most likely this event happened early in their life, in order to leave such a strong, unchanging impression about others.

The Uranus example you give is something a little different. Uranus conjunct (energy is combined with) IC (inner world) indicates someone who is strongly rebellious inwardly or maybe rebels against who they are inwardly. This combination is about an INNER focus, not an OTHERS (such as a relationship) focus.

Explaining,

Tim

Tim... I have met someone who's Venus is conjunct my South Node...
His Venus is at 29' 58 Libra in the 3rd
My SN is at 29' 28 Libra in the 9th.. I feel such an affinity to him as well as being kinda of scared of him too.. very strange...There is that karmic degree.. the teeter- totter... on which I seem to reside... any thoughts??

When looking at cafe astrology's list of aspects.. it is considered favorable (2)?

Stargazer, my sweetie's Venus in Libra conjuncts my south node in Libra as well. (in my 10th house)- I don't feel that he holds me back, but he does make me want to put energy into "what's good for us", instead of just "what's good for ME", which, North Node in Aries is suppose to learn to do. I have to admit, I have a long way to go before I master that.

lioneye68.. I've got a loaded 7th house 4 planets...The "us" energy you speak of is oh so familiar... like a big comfy chair... I do have my Moon in Aries too... so I'm one to initiate the "me".. to think of myself...but get caught up in the "we".. It is a pattern that I have found myself a part of over and over....My sun, merc, and venus fall in his first house...We "enjoy" one another... he makes me feel great and vice-versa... but all the while I feel like I'm walking on a tight-rope trying to find my balance... and it is such a long way down...

Thanks for your reply... What is your sweetie's sun sign??

Star,

Lioneye puts it well: South node connections connect us in where we "feel comfortable"...but may not challenge us to do the things where we are NOT comfortable (such as, in lioneye's example, self-development).

Agreeing,

Tim

He's a Virgo, with a Leo moon, mercury & rising....and I love him to bits

Thanks, Tim - a nod from you is very nice.

I'd have to say, any problems Mr. Virgo and I do experience, always seem to revolve around me doing something that excludes him, either by a lack of interest on his part, or by design (ex: Girls night). He doesn't really take kindly to me having a life outside of him. But he doesn't cause a fuss. He's just uncharacteristically quiet for a few days afterwards. Not his normal, ridiculous, perverted, talkative witty self. The message is very subtle, but clear. "You neglected US. You hurt my feelings". He gets over it though.

Mystic,

These all indicate "helping" connections to his future goals. Unlike the conjunction (energy is combined with) North node (future goals), aspects such as trines, sextiles, or squares to the North node form aspect patterns which focus on the "linking" planet. This planet's energy can be used as a way to move FROM the South node (the past) TO the North node (future goals).

Moving into the future,

Tim
