I kinda thought this was a funny story:

A few weeks ago I attended a post-production party for a theater troop that my Pisces BF composes and performs the music for. I introduced myself to a new sound engineer of theirs and she and I hit it off immediately. We had a similar sense of humor, etc. We all had a good time at the party and I chatted with lots of people and all that.

At some point astro signs came up, and when it came time for me to *confess* my sun sign and said,"I'm a Pisces," my new friend nearly spat out her drink! She said,"Seriously?!" and then immediately she added,"but what's your rising sign?" I gave her a knowing look and *announced* "Leo." Then she nodded and said, "That's more like it."

Turns out she is a Gemini, and I've had several Gem friends, good ones, but almost every one I've met always proclaims their hatred of Pisces and then asks me my rising sign! Funny, I attract and am attracted to Gems and those that I meet are all interested in astrology.

Anyway, all my life I've gotten,"Pisces? Really?" and thought I'd share this with the other Pisces-Leos here as I know I'm not alone in this kind of experience ; ).

Hi Zeldatiara. I'm Pisces with Leo rising, Leo moon. I get that same thing all the time. "I thought you Pisces people were supposed to be timid!" I have also had a long history with Geminis. Except I tend to love one side of their personalities (one twin) and can't stand the other. Actually, that is more true with Gemini men than women. Anyway, inside you still have that soft Pisces soul, even if it is hard for some to see.

Hi Zeldatiara

Pisces Sun Leo Rising and Sag Moon female here. Same reaction. I attract lots of Sag males and have 2 Sag exes who are still good friends!

I have been mistaken for a Leo on lots of occasions.

Hey there Zeldatiara
I'm a pisces sun/leo moon/aqua rising. When meeting people I am pretty shy which is typical pisces and aqua and can even be a bit aloof. But after I lose my inhibitions I can be as chatty and extroverted as the best of them which is my leo moon. I like my aqua rising though even if it is opposite to my subconscious self (leo) It takes me a while to get to know others and feel comfortable around them, but it allows for more meaningful relationships to grow.

BTW I can totally relate to you on the gemini thing! I've learnt it can be challenging for pisces to get along with them but I've encountered so many geminis in my life so far and live with one so that could be because of the leo thing.

Hi other *Fish Kitties* (uh, *CatFish* just doesn't have a great ring to it...)!

FishKitten:

I know and I want to say,"What is timid about George Washington, Mikhail Gorbachev, Cindy Crawford or Sharon Stone?" (those aren't necessarily my fave examples of pisces, but none of them are timid!)

quote:
I have also had a long history with Geminis...

Yeah, I've had Gem troubles too -- and like you, mostly with the males. But like some others have said here, I just keep getting them in my life. I think the mutual attraction must have something to do with both signs' dualities.

Chrissie:

Ooh! Sags! I've had some of the most painful but important lessons taught to me by encounters with Sags. For most of my twenties I thought they were the most vicious of poison, but now two of my very best friends are Sags, one male and one female.

Pisces_girl:

I've been wondering about that too. What is working with what? Where does Leo come in with sun Gems and sun Pisc? I have a male Gem friend who truly adores all Pisc women -- for him, I think it is about the shared duality. However, all of my female Gems suffer no fools, and while they've been challenging, I think my Leo ascendant helps me deal with them.

Anybody else here like that?

Absolutely! That brings me to the other side of this, what's up with people who assume what they are seeing is the full person?! I find this so frustrating. Some days I'm one way, another I may slide a little ways across the personality spectrum and be a bit different.

Isn't everybody that way?

Time and time again, people actually tell me to my face that they *know* me or *read* me really quickly or something to that effect. First, I wonder why they think they need to inform me of this (perhaps I just meet a lot of insecure people? LOL). Second, is it just my Pisces nature (combined with other things in my chart) that has always made me assume we all have several layers of ourselves?

I'd be interested in any feed back on this.

Oh, of course, I do acknowledge that there just might be a mildly insulted lioness involved in this too! "How dare they think they truly know me?! Get away, underling!

Amongst Pisces, there are three main types: the minnow, the whale and the dolphin.

The Minnow

The minnow is the most innocent, spiritual and some would say the purest of the three. The minnow is really in touch with its emotions and the emotions of those around them. This can be a little too much for such a small minnow to bear, making him or her seem unstable. Its very hard for a minnow to make decisions because they worry too much about the effects it will have on themselves and others. So the minnow often gets caught up in the current and just goes with the flow with no control of its self or what goes on around them.

The Whale

The whale on the other hand is the strongest and has a very tight grasp on its environment and because of this they lose a bit of the connection with their pure self. The whale can easily take control of its life as well as the ones who surround him but once a whale makes a decision thats it; theres no going back, its final. The whale usually has an opinion and a very strong will, and with its ability to smash though the currents of everyday life, it can surely conquer anything that gets in its way.

The Dolphin

The dolphin is an integration of the other two. It maintains its innocence and spirituality while it may not be at the purest level of the divine minnow, and it has the ability to take control when needed, like the whale, but to a lesser degree. Like the whale dolphins can take control of their life, but they would feel it unnecessary to control the lives of those around them. Dolphins find themselves in tune with their surroundings, flowing with the current when needed and changing direction at will because they intuitively know that there is a time and place for everything.

Because of the many different aspects in each chart there are many different types of minnows, dolphins, and whales. While its possible to be a pure form of one, it is more likely that you will be one with traits of one or both of the others. For example, a minnow could have whale tendencies in certain situations, while still maintaining its purity on a day-to-day basis.

Here is how to find out what one you are:

(Its pretty easy - just take a look at your chart.)

Minnows will have an abundance of water and/or air in their charts.

Whales will have mostly fire and earth in their charts.

Dolphins will have a mix of all 4 of the elements in their charts.

Oh yeah, Baby! lol

As for Gems...I used to say I was plagued by them (only the men, and no doubt they were equally plagued by me). My father was Gemini, I have two Gem ex-husbands, and many male Gem friends. Plus it often turns out that when I meet men of other signs that I end up being close to, I eventually find out that they have Gem rising or Gem Moon or lots of Gemini somewhere in their charts. So I have stopped thinking of it as being plagued by Gems and started thinking of it as being blessed by them. After all, say what you will about Geminis, but they are never ever boring!

Interesting about minnows, whales, dolphins...

Based on the fact my chart is almost 50% air, I should be a minnow, but I relate much more to the dolphin definition- could that be due to Taurus moon and Leo asc?

Picses Sun, Leo Ascendant in Pluto 12th house, Sag moon- more adventurous than most, the Pisces tries to observe without necessarily Being observed yet notices Leoshe has the attention of others while Sag she "horses around" and/or makes blunt comments.
Generally regarded as regal and daring by others but quivering helpless psychic by self. Venus and others tell me more about how it is for you

Haha Zelda I know what you mean

hmm.. not sure what type of pisces I'd be.. maybe dolphin?
What would you call someone with 5 planets in water, 4 in fire and 2 in earth with an air ascendent?

Tux Meow:

Where did you get the info describing Pisc,Leo and Sag? Is that your own interpretation? Very interesting the way each is described! I don't think I understand Sag as well as I do most other signs...can you fill me in at all?

I don't know if this info is pertinent to your question, but although I'm a Pisces-Leo, my moon is in Taurus, and I feel very fortunate in that because I think it anchors me- yes, I'm a "sensitive fish," and a "flamboyant lion" but I'm also grounded. I'm not saying P-Ls are flaky- not at all - but for me, with so much Gem in my chart, I think I could be quite flighty without my Taurean moon.

Pisces Girl:

I would think you'd fit 'dolphin,' because to me, even though you have a lot of fire (and I'm envious 'cause my only fire is my asc., oh wait, maybe that's what is making me envious : ) ), your sun sign is Pisces and while you are not 'full of air' I tend to believe the asc. is very powerful- so I'd say you are an appropriate mix and therefore a 'dolphin.'
