Hmm...I have the same trait actually, I don't know whether to attribute it to my Scorpio sun, Pluto or Mars in Aries. Good thing I have my Capricorn moon for some self-restraint.

P.S. I'm a Scorpio with Leo MC, and I've often noticed that people who don't know me very well have an opinion of me that just doesn't fit.

One way to think of it is:
Leo = Identity + Security
Scorpio = Emotional + Security

So both are interested in being "secure" in life, they just have different ways of doing it. For Leo "seurity" is all about who they are and how they identify themselves with/from those people. For Scorpio it is all about their emotional well being and "feeling" secure in a situations and around people. For more about this approach, see Step 4 in the link below.

I love the strong, silent, gentle, playful,
encouraging, dynamic, incredible, inspirational,
creative, - did I say incredible, - beautiful leos.

It's the loud, obnoxious, narcissistic,
verbose, unthinking, inconsiderate prima donnas
that I don't tend to mesh well with,
if you know what I mean.

I maintain a long-standing friendship with a gorgeous leo;
a friendship that was once more than close.
For my part, I can corroborate starbreaker's testimony,
but that I was never, and could never have been
violent or abusive with this gentle boy,
who, incidentally, has Neptune conjunct his Ascendant,
and his Sun exactly conjunct my Vertex
(his Sun is also in his 8th house,
and Pluto is on his Midheaven).
My own path into the underworld divided me
from he who was destined to walk in the Sun.

(He is studying Vipassana Yoga at the moment,
while I am writing this only to kill time until
my Scorpio-Ascendant friend gets back with the heroin.)

But we meet on occassion,
and it is always intense,
to say the very least.

Anyway....

There are other Leos I could speak of,
and Leo Mooners, who have stirred my blood,
and warmed my heart.

But I'll save them for a rainy day.

I lost my scorpio friend to drugs, he's psyched out now, a vegetable, I often threw away his stash and tried to beat him to back to senses when he was doing it for the heck of it, but he was just a prisoner of his addictions and watching him waste away eventually, he was an extremely good piece of talent that decided to hang by the noose, when the world could have been at his feet in a better way. It is painful to see him now. For all of us.

Heroin is dangerous man, though i know for you danger may not a red colour, i'd still ask you to absorb what a waste it is for the likes of you and the people who care for you.

Anything is better than heroin man, even misery.

They seemed to be simular in their attitudes & approach to life, but as you got to know them better, it was obvious that they had totally different outlooks on life.
