Topic: times when astrology is FLAT OUT WRONG. discuss

I did my friends chart and she was sorely disapointed. she always seemed proud to be a cancer and happy with sun signs discussions ("oh you are a scorpion" she would always tell me. But I insisted astrology is even
deeper and better. but the description on cafe astrology has her pegged totally wrong. like, nothing really fit her. she came off as manipulative and overly dependable on a boy friends..or the need to have one is strong. and the descriptions condradicted themselves in quick sucession a few times. saying she loved family..than denying it and saying she did not...she really made fun of the condradictions. Its a schizo reading on cafe astrologys part, that was not right in either of our eyes or some of our other friends eyes. so what do you see in this chart?

Well, I can see where the interpretation on being "overly dependent" or needing a "strong boyfriend to lean on" came from. She has her sun in the seventh like me. I've always HATED that interpretation.

I’ve rarely relied on on-line interpretations of birth charts for accurate analyses. They tend to be cut-and-paste, generalized and over-simplified interpretations—which is the only feasible format for dispensing birth chart analyses in 0.3 seconds on the internet to millions of strangers. It can be helpful in giving you a general idea of a person’s chart, but even then it is not a very reliable source. The best way to achieve an accurate analysis is to read extensively about the meanings behind the placements: planets, signs and aspects. From there you can use a combination of knowledge, intuition, perceptive skills and creativity to put together something that really rings true to people. Or you can always go to a good professional astrologer (but it’s pricey and unnecessary if you yourself have an interest in astrology). I’m sure you’ll receive better interpretations from people on this website than cafe astrology. IP: Logged |

I always heard sun in the seventh means you're going to marry somebody rich/famous. I don't think a computer print out is going to be as good as a real astrologer. IP: Logged |

just wanted to add- sometimes interpretations are worded in a certain way and they can bring up traits that we don’t see or don’t like. For example, when I was younger I used to hate the interpretations for Moon in Leo- but since then I’ve learned that (a)some of those negative things are true and (b)there are a lot of things about it that I like/ the “negative” traits can have positive manifestations. well the way 7th house in sun worded it, it made her out to want to dominate..or maybe that was something elseand writesomething, I know nothing is 100 percent in astology, it isn't for me or anyone but it could be at least 50 percent for her IP: Logged |

There are contradictions in a lot of charts. Astrology is actually the best help in dealing with those contradictions. It gives you the tools to acknowledge those opposing forces within you, and make better decisions about integrating them into a greater whole. If I only knew that I was a Capricorn, and went off that description, then every time my Mutable (6 placements including Ascendant) flightiness came up I'd be confused as to how I could be that way. I agree with whiterabbit as far as certain placements having multiple expressions. For many placements there are both good and bad things that can manifest. Also, I almost hesitate to say this, but your friend wouldn't be the first Cancer I've seen deny her chart. They can get very sensitive about the things they perceive as bad. I even had a Cancer girlfriend who thought she was more of a Capricorn, and I was more of a Cancer. IP: Logged |

fan,Thanks for posting the chart. First of all, anyone with Uranus (friends, also rebellion) conjunct (energy is combined with) Ascendant (self) will tend to be VERY independent and will also tend to rebel against most personal descriptions given them (as I know from personal experience!  ). Secondly, since she has Sun (self-expression) opposite (energy is over-excited by) Neptune (spirituality, also confusion) focused in the 1rst house (being), she may be confused both about how she expresses herself and who she is. This could result in her having a VERY hard time seeing herself in the chart. I suggest starting with the "big picture" and leaving the details for later:
- More planets on the top of the chart than on the bottom, so she focuses on the outer world more than her inner world - More planets on the top right of the chart, uses her relationships with others to do things for them in the outer world - 3 planets focused in or near the 7th house (relationships), she focuses on relationships in her life After you have explained this, if you ARE interested in getting into the details, I suggest you use keywords to create an astro-sentence for each of the 10 sign/planet/house combinations in her chart (more about this in Step 5 of the link below). Then, from this astro-sentence SHE can create the interpretation that fits her best (her Uranus conjunct Ascendant may like this approach a LOT better! ). Looking at charts, Tim ------------------

Agree wholeheartedly with Tim. I would like to add that the Astrological Natal Chart is like a Human Cell or DNA. The combination of all planets in all houses with all aspects describes the person. Sun in Cancer is different from Sun in Cancer 9th House and is different from Sun in Cancer 5th House square Moon trine Mars and this too will differ from Age of Aquarius and Age of Capricorn. Astrology describes every person who is true to himself by atleast 85%. IP: Logged |
