An Astrologer, not a Professional Astrologer though OR are they both the same? If not what is different? The local professional astrologer at home here thinks that I should be able to call myself an Astrologer - after studying the subject since 1994 and doing charts since 1996. Though I'm self taught in the subject and have been brought to think one needs a diploma or certificate to be one......The jury is still out on this one. I have yet to sit and discuss where my knowledge level is at with the local Professional Astrologer - He offers up Certificate and diploma courses through the CAAE. I sat and look through the course pamphlet and it appeasr that I could be at the advanced level. Going back to school never appealed to me - cause in this day in age the people where I live don't even find work in the field that they studied. I'm all for hand on experience. I have done natal charts, progressed charts, planet returns, relocation charts, synastry charts just to name some off. Chart patterns, astrological signatures etc...... Any insights? ID IP: Logged |

If I were to use an astrologer, I wouldn't care about what papers he had on his wall. I would rely more on what he would be telling me. I think that as long as you're good at reading astro charts and such, you should do just fine. In order to make money doing astrology, one has to rely on clients that believe in you, and they will in turn recommend you to others. Besides, what type of Astrology Test would you have to take in order to prove yourself ?? I don't think there is one, and if there is, I would question the accredation. IP: Logged |

Hello Inner depths.I have been studying since i was 10 and interpreting charts since i was 15... and i have always learnt myself. Although I wish i could get a professional astrology degree, but from experience, I have seen the best astrologers are those that are self taught. Like Linda for example. ------------------ Superstition is to religion what astronomy is to astrology: the mad daughter of a wise mother IP: Logged |

Inner,To add to what linda mentioned: a professional astrologer gets paid for their astrological readings. An amateur astrologer does not. In my opinion, there are many amateur astologers who are better astrologers than many professional astrologers, because their goal is to help a person so they can become independent and strong. While, for the professional astrologer, an independent, strong, confident person may be seen as a lost paying client! So the professional astrologer may be tempted to help people...but not too much...or else the astrologer loses their business! Helping others freely, Tim ------------------ For information on basic astrological chart interpretation see: http://www.geocities.com/wilsontctc IP: Logged |
