I am totally confused between these two. I mean, I do understand the definitions and techniques... It just seems that you can get two completely different, even contradictory forecasts from looking at them both. Is there specific use for each one? Does one have more influence that the other? Are they related in any ways? If someone could point me in direction of good resources on the subject it will be greatly appreciated . IP: Logged |

Kamilla,To keep things simple, I see the progressed chart as a chart of inner changes in the person and so only look at the progressed chart in terms of the birth chart. I do this by putting the progressed chart around the birth chart. The Solar Return chart I see as the chart of the "birth" of a person's birthday year, lasting until their next birthday, so I interpreted as a separate "birth" chart, except it only lasts one year. Astroleolady,Thank you so much! This is such a wealth of information and I have never come across Mary Shea site before. Tim, Great insight, as usual, thank you. Last night I went through your chart interpretation lesson in a typical impatient Sagittarius manner - all six steps at once. I think, I lost it at step four...lol... but I will definitely go back and reign my curiousity to one step at the time. I really like the concept. IP: Logged |

Kamilla,Thanks for the kind words. A lot of people have a problem with moving into Step 4 where the "heavy duty" chart interpretation begins. I have revised Step 4 to make the purpose of the step clearer. If you have any suggestions about how to make this or any other step in the interpretation clearer, let me know. The site has been revised many times based on people's feedback.
