It just occured to me that I could use astrology to help me do my job better. I currently work online as a tutor, answering student questions and encouraging them to complete their work. I work one-to-one with students, and also send out monthly motivational emails (these come out on the first of each month regardless of what will be happening astrologically - although I could send out extra ones at especially appropriate times). I'm wondering about a few things: 1. What are the best times to encourage confidence in the students? (during Sun in Leo for example?) 2. When would it be most effective to encourage productivity? (during Capricorn and Aquarius?) 3. Remembering and sticking to their study goals - focusing on near-future achievements? 4. The time to get a student who hasn't started something, to take action and start it? 5. And when is it best to encourage the ability to focus on tasks? Maybe these all sound like the same thing, but the nuances of these are important when it comes to my job! So I'm wondering when I do these things, which specific astrological conditions could make the effect of my communications about these things stronger? IP: Logged |

Ok, that makes sense... because I'm thinking, if something can be more effective at a particular time then if it's a matter of only say a couple of days then I can wait to send out a group email when it will be more effective... IP: Logged |

gemini,In addition to using transit charts, you could also create and interpret charts to find the best date and time to send out each email (i.e., creating the best "electional chart" possible). Electing, Tim IP: Logged |

If it was me, I would send out things requiring productivity during the earth moons, uplifting things or things requiring self-examination during the water moons, things requiring quick action or inspiration during fire moons and social things or new learning for the air moons. Seems a simple place to start. Pay attention to the Merc retro's. Then you can analyze your results and add aspects from there. If you have any problem students or people with extra needs you can personalize your service to them by using their charts.IP: Logged |

Oh that's wonderful advice! Thanks for the insights Tim and MM! I'd like to start putting these things into practice very soon - and of course I will let you all know how it works out! IP: Logged |

GeminiLover75 -I don't know ... it's tough to be a teacher and try to create an environment you are truly in control of. If you want to truly connect to the potential's, you need to be extremely comfortable in your own skin, or they'll sense it -- Slow your breathing -- lots of patient eye contact -- Smile! I'm assuming everyone's got Web cams? And remember that some people might have Chakra's in line BEFORE your tutoring session. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

No webcams - for this job it's strictly email, so I don't need to rely on any face-to-face teaching techniques. The main goal of my job is to get the students to complete their online course - before I was employed for these people, completions were a problem and they needed to get a higher rate of students completing the course; so in addition to them overhauling the course material, my part in things is to primarily be a motivator - I've had lots of good feedback from the students since I started, so I guess right now I'm aiming to find ways through astrology to get my timing more precise so that the right type of message is delivered at a generally astrologically appropriate time. It's an experimental approach I suppose, as I'd like to see if taking this approach has any effect on the rates of student activity and completion...

I see what you're saying. I hope you get more feedback on that. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |
