To what degree would an Aries with the conjunct of uranus/sun be like an Aquarian.

Ive just found out this aspect is in my Dad's chart and I am interested to know what influence it has on his personality.

Love and thanks

hey Sue, any planet that the Sun touches would very much enhance its expression outwardly unlike the moon which is usually turned inward. I think Zala posted an article long time ago about the effect of the planets, in Steven Forrest terms: The sun "solarises" and gives energy to that planet, hence its expression would be more pronounced in his chart that say if Uranus was on its own in any given house. The house of the Sun generally is a power house.
Also, where the Sun falls, the person usually takes on the characteristics of that house, a 7th house Sun "seems" like a Libra in his outward expression. I behave nothing like my Sun sign for instance, I have Sun conjunct Jupiter and Sun in the 11th house, so you could say, the expression of these planets is pronounced more than my own Sun sign characteristics.

Try also to locate the power planet in his chart. Go to Astro.com, choose Pullen/Astrolog and then choose simple chart delineation by Walter Pullen. It will give you the power of planets in a chart by percentages to weigh the effect more.

Best,

Oh thanks Neptune...

Oh yes I get you there...Ive a Sun/Neptun conj and I am very very watery and similar to a Pisces in many ways.

Would my father's Uranus conj account for his "slight" eccentricity...haha

Thanks for the info.

Love Sue xxxx

NM, what a memory you have!! Yes, here's the excerpt from Steven Forrest's excellent, wonderful article (which contains my all-time very favorite astro quote) called "Love Handles":
http://www.stevenforrest.com/lovehandles.html
quote:
If I solarize a planet in your chart, then I press it to emerge
energetically, vividly, and actively in your life.

If I lunarize a planet in your chart, then I nourish and support it,
and render it moodier and more aware of its needs.

If I mercurialize a planet in your chart, then I press it to speak, to
stretch, to gather more information, to think about itself, and to
articulate its nature.

If I venusify a planet in your chart, then I warm it, seduce it, and
induce in it a desire to connect with me and exchange energy with me. I
may also "civilize" it, and encourage it to beautify itself.

If I martialize a planet in your chart, then I press it toward courage
and assertiveness, also bringing out whatever anger or frustration it
may contain.

If I jovialize a planet in your chart, then I encourage and support it,
cheerleading it on toward wider horizons, a willingness to take risks,
and more faith in itself.

If I saturnize a planet in your chart, then I invite it to mature and
to face reality squarely. I ask it to discipline itself, to make hard
choices decisively, and to bring its intentions into concrete
manifestation.

If I uranize a planet in your chart, then I press it toward
individuation, toward rebellion against "tribal" mythology, and toward
free-spirited experimentation.

If I neptunify a planet in your chart, then I enchant and mesmerize it,
softening it and filling it with inspiration, spiritual renewal, and
imaginative imagery.

If I plutonify a planet in your chart, then I trigger the emergence of
unconscious or wounded material connected with it, challenging it to
grow and to implement the soul's healing intentions.

My fave quote:
quote:
To me, in the realities of the astrological counselling room, there are
two immutable premises:

There is no manner of astrological interaction between two people that
is so inherently sweet that enough selfishness, confusion about sex, or
immaturity cannot turn it sour.

There is no manner of astrological interaction between two people that
is so inherently bitter that enough patience, devotion, and humility can
not only make it last, but make it something precious to both people.

sue,

This conjunction of energies is a stronger challenge than the simpler challenge of Aquarius (other people's self-expression) modifying Sun (self-expression). In the case of Aquarius modifying Sun the SUN is the energy for the person, so the overall energy is self-expression. In the case of Uranus conjunct (energy is combined with) Sun BOTH the Sun and Uranus are the energy...and neither wants to "give in" to the other!

Since the energy of the Sun is about our self-expression, while the energy of Uranus is about other people's self-expression, you can understand the challenge that Sun conjunct (energy is combined with) Uranus creates. The person may flip back and forth between expressing themselves and trying to get others to express themselves...or try to do both at once in some way. So the person may fight an internal war of some sorts, trying to figure out how to use their energies in a way that gives equal focus on BOTH energies.

With Sun conjuncting Uranus,

Tim
