I studied a lot of Jacques Lacan in university- he based his psychoanalytic theory on Freud but took things in a new, even deeper direction. I was pretty obsessed with his theories- you should check him out if you are intrested in psychoanalysis (though I recommend that you begin with Slavoj Zizek's interpretations of Lacan.. the original texts are so insanely complex, we rarely looked at them in class!) He was an Aries. I like how you're bringing up interesting historical figures for astrological study!IP: Logged |

I own quite a few astrology books. My absolute fav. is 'The Sexual Astrology' by Martin Schulman. I bought it used on line for about $7. I learn from that book every time I pick it up. In it Mr. S. looks at Freuds chart. Other books have looked at it as well. But it is particulary interesting given the body of this work. Freud had Scorpio rising. 9 degrees I think. But before you think he expressed his own sexuality, consider that his Venus and Mars had NO aspect. Leading the reader to think that might have been why he devoted himself to sexual study. To understand his own sexual nature. Another book looks at a relationship chart between Jung & Freud. As they were associates and competitors. I'll have to research which book.IP: Logged |
