If you have an empty 5th house, none of your natal planets fall within your 5th house. Let me know if you don't know how to distinguish where the 5th house is.If her Moon falls in my 7th house, then her Moon is likely in Sagittarius, because most of my 7th House is taken up by Sagittarius.
Here's my chart:
See the numbers around the center circle? Those are house numbers. Anything that falls in that pie shape is in that house.
As you can see I have the Moon and Pluto in my 5th house.
My 7th house is kind of small. In the outside beige ring you see symbols of the signs. My 7th house is entirely inside the sign designated by the red arrow, Sagittarius. Anyone whose planet is in Sag between 2 and 27 degrees, has that planet in my 7th house.
Essentially your matching their chart up with yours by alligning the signs, so their Pisces matches your Pisces, their Aries matches your Aries, their Taurus matches your Taurus, etc. Then you look where their stuff falls inside your chart.
Here's a synastry chart where I used an imaginary person:
The inside circle with the blue planets is my chart. The outer circle with the red planets are the imaginary friend's chart. All of the signs have been matched up between our charts on the outermost biege circle.
Look at the two Moon symbols. Mine is the 5th, but you see where it correlates (moving outward) to Imaginary person's 12th house. On the outermost ring you can see that my Moon is barely in Virgo, and theirs is in Libra.
I probably wrote more than I should. I hope you understand it.
