I find that the house your Sun is in is more significant/tells more than your moon sign. When most astro people ask, what's your sun/moon sign? I prefer to ask your sign and your house...
doesn't anyone else find this?

Wouldn't the luminary with more aspects be more significant?

I have my sun conj jupiter in the 1st but my moon conj mercury and neptune in the 12th (both in cap). Both come out now and then but the moon has a tighter grip on me than the sun.

That's a q I've asked myself though, how to find out which one has more influence.

I think it depends on the rest of the chart. Sun in the 7th is supposed to make me libran.... needs to be with people, can't stand to be alone, yadayadayada. I have alot of heavier aspects that outweigh that by default.(Cap asc, virgo moon in the 8th, 12th house stellium with saturn in the 12th).I can tell you that the only thing I can agree on (with sun in the 7th) is that I atleast need some harmony and balance. But then my quick tempered mars rears it's ugly head.

It's odd, I never really paid much attention to my aspects, or degrees... perhaps I should.

If anybody could point out the most significant of these positions [or which ones jump out at you] and enlighten me as to the implications of these positions, I would be ever so grateful...

Major aspects
Sun Trine Mars 7°33
Sun Sextile Jupiter 5°39
Moon Sextile Venus 5°06
Moon Quincunx Neptune 2°33
Moon Square Pluto 1°12
Moon Conjunction Ascendant 5°31
Mercury Square Mars 3°54
Mercury Opposition Neptune 3°45
Mercury Trine Pluto 5°06
Venus Sextile Ascendant 0°26
Mars Sextile Jupiter 1°55
Mars Square Saturn 3°16
Mars Square Uranus 2°42
Jupiter Quincunx Saturn 1°21
Jupiter Quincunx Uranus 0°47
Saturn Conjunction Uranus 0°34
Neptune Sextile Pluto 1°21

Your moon definitely has more aspects than the sun. Do you have your chart handy?

Btw, these are the ones I'd call "catalytic":
Moon Quincunx Neptune 2°33
Moon Square Pluto 1°12
Mercury Square Mars 3°54
Mercury Trine Pluto 5°06
Mars Square Saturn 3°16
Mars Square Uranus 2°42

Of these, the moon square pluto and the squares to mars are the most major irritants. How do you experience your mars square uranus aspect? I have that one and it makes it near impossible for me to sit still (literally).

I have my Sun Pisces in 7th, I have to be careful about not losing myself in my relationships. I do submerge myself in the relationship. When in a partnership I do spend all my time with them. Family, friends come second.

I do understand people with my 7th house placement and can look at things from thier point of view, maybe I am too easily swayed by people at times with my Piscean energy falling for every sob story.

jkxx,
Yes, I do find it quite difficult to sit still. But at the same time, I can be quite good at it if I channel my energy right - I do have my sun and moon in the 12th house, which I think says alot about stillness/meditation.
I have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder, and was perscribed medication for it which I took for a while, but then stopped because I felt it was unhealthy.
Here is my chart. Any insights massively appreciated -

I have a Pisces sun and Venus in the 4th and I am absolutely in love with my home and am constantly caring for my home and my gardens! I love to get lost in my home, why I could easily get lost at home for days!

I have my Taurus moon in the 6th and am into healing arts and in my profession as a RN, I use quite a bit of soul-healing techniques!

Hi

Like MS I have Seventh house sun in Pisces and also Venus but do not get lost in relationships, In fact I feel stifled if I am with someone 24/7 and like lots of space for my own time and to spend time with other friends.

I dont like someone to ring me all the time wanting to know what I'm doing and similarly I dont do that to other people.

Could this be due to having my Moon and Mars in Sag?

Yes, your moon and mars in Sagittarius would definitely contribute to that dislike towards attachment. Sagittarians want absolute freedom - your moon being in Sag you need emotional freedom, and your mars being in Sag you need sexual freedom.

Chrissie/Venus,

that sounds more like a 12th house/pisces placement or neptune aspects somewhere. I'd take a look and see if there are any in your chart.

luna*tic,

before interpreting, let me say I hope you get better in coming to terms with ADD. I have a stellium in the 12th and it's caused me both PTSD and AvPD but it's getting better as time goes by. Good choice to give up the meds if you can do without, IMHO. (Never taken any for my condition).

Your moon, mercury, and venus all form an aspect to Pluto. Usually this means a rough upbringing but later gives you resilience to get through rough times. Mercury trine pluto especially, in that you can always rationalize a way out of any situation.

Mars is in a tough place since it's squaring saturn, uranus, and neptune. Of these, the saturn square will end up giving you a way to deal with financial/logistical problems in time, while the mars-neptune one (I'm guessing) has taught you ego-suppression techniques that in a way 'free' you from your ego's desires at times.

Mercury is conjunct chiron allowing you to 'heal' others with your words or at the very least give them feedback that makes them review themselves from a different perspective. Chiron's also opposing saturn, uranus, and neptune and trining pluto. Zala bumped up a few great threads that deal with these, you might want to read them.

There's also a mars-saturn-mercury t-square with mars as the focal point. In the past you might have been insulted regarding your mental abilities and decided to retaliate through a physical outburst - maybe as a defense mechanism. As the square stabilizes you should be able to feed mars' energy into your thinking and organizational skill (mercury & saturn).

There's also an easy sun-jupiter-mars triangle that should give you optimism and hope that you can overcome difficulties even if you don't know how at the moment they happen.

Overall you have a very interesting chart that combines at least 2 major patterns (t-square + the easy triangle). I'm sure there are even more patterns but they're not immediately obvious to me

Have you used astro and the other services that interpret it placement by placement?

I do like my freedom but I am not sexually promiscuous - in that I would never have multiple partners but I dont want to promise anybody forever if you know what I mean.

jkxx

I dont have any planets in 12th house and I have Cancer on 12th house cusp. The only aspect to Neptune which I can see is that it sextiles Pluto? Dont know if that would explain anything.

I do tend to think its something to do with my Sag placemnebts tho cos I've had 3 relationships in past 6 years - 2 short lived and one on and off which is still on and off sexually but always reamin frinds. All these have been Sag males and interestingly all have been younger than me but I dont deliberately set out looking for younger men as age is just a number to me.

But it is weird and far too much to be coincidence methinks!

Thanking you both for your replies.

Jkxx,
Thanks so much for your insights. They mostly ring very true.
One of the things that doesn't really make any sense is my apparent "rough upbringing" due to rough aspects to Pluto. I had a very happy and smooth childhood...
Something that really interests me is the mars-saturn-mercury t-square with mars as the focal point.
You say: "In the past you might have been insulted regarding your mental abilities and decided to retaliate through a physical outburst - maybe as a defense mechanism."
This is quite a personal matter but I feel it appropriate to share here... when I was about 9 years old I had a condition called trichotillomania which is a sort of obsessive-compulsive disorder in which you pull out your hair... I have no understanding as to why I did it, perhaps it had something to do with my mental abilities being insulted?

I have indeed used astro and other services to interpret my chart, however I appreciate interpretations from people better because computers don't have very well developed intuition. hehe.
Anyways, thanks again.

bullhead,
what sign is your sun in?
My sun is in cancer, in the twelfth house. So in a sense I consider myself a cancer/pisces. My moon is in leo so I guess i'm a cancer/pisces/leo. hehe.
I have a friend who's sun is in pisces in the second house, and she has alot of Taurean attributes.
I know i'm not articulating well, but I sort of think of it like the sign your sun is in is your Essential Energy, and the house it is in is how the Energy manifests itself on the material plane.
I have another friend who's sun is in aries in the fourth house[cancer], and you can sense that at the core she is full of that fiery primal energy, but it is channeled in such a way that she also enjoys staying at home and not taking too many Arien risks.
it is all about combinations of energies.

astro.com intreprets my sun in house 10 even though it is at the end of house 9. while my cap asc adds a serious nature, I am not that serious. I can be a goof ball, love travel and have a gf from far away. more of a hosue 9 quality. besides, something needs to lighten up that aries moon! what better than the easy going shy nature of scorp in house 9 for my sun. and also a sag venus and mercury to lighten up that firey aries placement. I say astro.com is wrong and that my sun should be read in house 9, since thats where it is, even if it is at the end. my cap ASC adds that serious nature to the outside world I put off, to the strangers. but scorp sun in house 9, sag venus/mercury adds the easy going social, lover of foreigners/worlds, blunt person I am. aries moon just makes me impulsive. but over the years those sag placements has doused those hot headed flames as I learned to be chill, a sag quality (and NN tarurus too) - so sun in house 9 it is!

I have sun in the 1st as well (and pluto in the 1st also). Isnt my sun in the 1st supposed to add Leo traits and pluto in the 1st scorpio traits? vs aries traits in both cases? http://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/firsthouse.htm

I have my sun in the 9th also, and I have a lot of Sag traits. But my ascendant is also Sag. My moon & venus are both in Scorpio, but they're in the 11th house, which seems to lighten the Scorpio traits a bit lol.

I believe the house that the sun is in can be relevent but possibly tempered or enhanced by other aspects. For example the sun in the 1st or 5th would be prominant I imagine, the 1st as it's close to the ascendant and the 5th as the sun belongs there.
Thinking about people I know I feel that the house their suns are in are very interesting. My hubby's sun is in the 7th which conflicts rather with it being in freedom-loving saggy also. And he does need a main relationship but likes independance within it.
My daughter is a pisces sun but it's in the 11th and she is very quirky, stubborn and independent also.
My son is a capricorn sun but it's in the 1st (he has six planets in the 1st, imagine that!!) and he certainly has the aries passion and vibe!
My sun is the 5th and oh yes, I know it!!
