Does anyone else have this problem? Ok I just found out I have really heavy pluto in my chart(Pluto square ascendant at a mere 11 degree orb) the lady who did my chart said this could be the reason for my problem. For some reason most of my life I've been extremely private and touchy about my personal issues, but thats not the entire problem, there are times that people seem to be afraid or even putoff by me, which has effected my social and love life big time. I don't even have to say or do anything for people to react this way towards me. Any advice would be appreciated.

Pluto square Ascendant 11 degree orb isn't strong no kind of way. That's way too wide. Most astrologers don't use orbs past 8 degrees, and it wouldn't be that strong. 5 degrees and less would be something significant.

Are you sure it's 11 degree orb
or is it 11 minutes of arc. There are 60 minutes in 1 degree.

If your Pluto square Ascendant is 11 minutes of arc, then it would be very strong aspect indeed.

Do you have any other pluto aspects?
any scorpio planets?
any 8th house planets?

Glaucus it's 11 mins of an arc. Thats why the lady who did my chart asked if I had problems because it was a strong aspect. I also have:
Mars square pluto
Mar conjunction ascendant
Moon square mars
Moon square pluto
Sun conjunction pluto
Sun square Mars
Moon conjuntion ascendant
Sun square ascendant

That is just some of them...

even if you didn't have Pluto square Ascendant,

You have Sun conjunct Pluto,Moon square Pluto and Mars square Pluto. All those together indicate that you are a bit intense. Moon square Mars and Sun square Mars can seem like an aggressive type even though they don't act out that aggressiveness. The combination of challenging Mars and Pluto aspects can indicate that you can be quite intimidating. Mars square Pluto is no joke ..when it comes to seeming like a person can intimidate. It's an aspect that can attract aggression, violence. It's a good aspect for great energy that can be used for sports, sex, and endeavors where willpower, strength is needed.

Also Sun square Ascendant indicates that your self expression and your outer personality are in conflict with each other, rub each other the wrong way which can lead to sending mixed messages to others. You can see the problems that can cause.

So you can understand my situation when it comes to people and their reaction towards me. It's funny sometime, but mostly just plain makes me sad

BTW I have had the same problem since childhood. I just try to stay out of trouble. If I don't like a person, stay away from him/her. I also prefer to be with a woman who matches my intensity and depth.

I have:

Pluto in 1st
Sun,Mercury,and Venus in Scorpio
Moon quincunx Pluto
Venus square Mars (4'05)
Moon conjunct Mars (7'17)
Pluto square Sun/Mars midpoint (14 min)
Mars/Pluto midpoint square Ascendant(4 min)
Moon semisquare Sun/Pluto midpoint (4 min)
Sun square Pluto/Midheaven midpoint (42 min)
Sun conjunct Jupiter/Pluto midpoint (46 min)

libraschoice,

I completely sympathize with you. I too have very strong Pluto influences in my chart.

Pluto conjunct Ascendant
Pluto conjunct Sun
Pluto square Moon
Pluto square Mars
Pluto square MC
Pluto in the 1st house
Sun, Mercury, Venus and Pluto in Scorpio
Sun square Mars
Sun conjunct Ascendant
Moon opposite Mars
Venus square Mars

So you can imagine the reactions I get when it comes to intensity/imtimidation...It's almost overwhelming at times...

Naturally, I'm a very friendly person. However, at first meeting...or if you saw me in a class, or walking at work, or down the street I've been told I have this intense, almost intimidating presence. Some people have reacted negatively simply from the vibes they'd gotten from me. As a child, it was hard for me to make friends, simply because everyone either was "afraid" of me or just didn't want to be around..

I've had to learn to deal with this (I have a very prominent Mars as well) by just not responding. I keep away from people who instantly seem to dislike me, seeing how it always seems to cause trouble whenever I don't. I try not to do/say anything that will cause an issue, however, i've just started to notice the infamous "looks" people talk about...

My whole life seems to center around control/power issues A sad cycle that is, and tiring as well...No matter how much I try and avoid the same issues you mention, it's like I always end up spending so much time...trying to get myself out of situations like that..

hello all i am a newbie on this site. i randomly came across it when googling for info about composite charts. i saw this thread and wanted to comment...

pluto is an intense planet with a lot of depth. i think that many people are scared by the expression of plutonian/scorponic energy because of their own issues with that planet's energy. so if you have a pluto theme you may find some people are overwhelmed, taken back, scared, whatever. but for every person out there who is scared of that aspect of your nature there are people who are drawn to it and appreciate it. for example me! i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE scorpio energy. i always connect with people with scorpio rising, moon, sun, aspects, etc... that energy works well with mine

i think that we attract what we feel within. so perhaps if you are finding that a lot of people are scared of your energy- then you may not be fully accepting of that energy within yourself. if you keep trying to shove your pluto in a shadow it's going to come out somewhere! you could end up meeting scary, intense people or find that people are scared of your own intensity. but when you integrate it you will find that you attract people who appreciate that side of you. the same goes for any other planet not integrated in your personality. if it's mars that's the issue- you might meet a lot of angry people or find that people think you are an angry person. mercury- you may run into and get annoyed with people who talk a lot, etc...

as for me and my pluto aspects (in case you are interested!):

uranus in scorpio in the 8th house
pluto stationed direct on the day of my birth
square mercury and jupiter
sextile venus, neptune and midheaven
semisquare saturn
semisextile uranus

i am an intense person by nature as well- but i find that it is appreciated in me, even if people can't quite understand it.

i also have a ton of water in general- pisces (moon in pisces conjunct ascendant, neptune conjunct midheaven, lots of neptune aspects) and cancer (sun in cancer in 4th house, mercury conjunct jupiter in cancer, lots of moon aspects). i have very little air and earth. air people typically find me intense and emotional and i typically find them detached and unemotional. we both have something to learn from one another though

my gf has

Pluto Square Ascendant 4°50

Sun Square Ascendant 2°02

Tight aspects but she seems to get along just fine. People are even drawn to her and a few of my friends had crushes on her, which scared her away, the opposite of what you folks with those two aspects explained. I was almost to mysterious for my own good in winning her over but finally said something to her when I realized "she must really like me, she is always knocking on my door to see me and spent her birthday alone with me (after hanging out with friends of course.)

I, on the other hand, feel what you guys feel sometimes. I believe my Moon Square Mars at 1°21 is pretty powerful in naturally repelling people before they give me a chance. It makes me appear as standoffish and uninterested. My gf easily broke through that aspect and knows I have a tough time expressing myself and is okay and patient with it. sometimes those negative aspects aren't so negative and make you accept them in other people, like my gf. I am sure you guys find it easier to accept a stand offish type person.

my only other "negative" aspect really is Moon Square Ascendant 1°25. which again, is an intense one. my inner being and outer world are at odds, which really is true and I think that aspect can cause a lot of internal conflict similar to the intensity of the outer conflict some of you have described. I am always swaying between a social guy, sometimes goofball with weird antics, and being closed off and secretive, as a more internal struggle not evident to the rest of the world like the aspects you guys describe. I think yours are more external in their effects and how they play out.

my two cents.

Hi Libra!
I have a strong Pluto influence, too. Astro.com lists it as my most dominant planet. (I have Scorpio Rising, so it is my chart ruler, anyway.)
I have both Venus and Neptune conjunct the Ascendant and:

Pluto conjunct Mars
Pluto conjunct Jupiter
Pluto conjunt Uranus

and the "softer" aspects of
Pluto sextile the Venus/Neptune/Ascendant conjunction.

I think having Venus and Neptune conjunct my Ascendant "softens" the way people perceive me but there are certainly a lot of times I am misunderstood.

Alanabelle86,
You have real similiar aspects to mine, do find dating difficult because of these aspects(men beening shy or afraid around you). I found if I don't ask a guy out myself I'll be alone for awhile...

I know someone with Mars in Scorpio, Pluto in Scorpio, Scorpio rising, Pluto & Mars both in the 1st house, Pluto conjunct ascendant, Moon square pluto, Venus trine pluto, Venus square mars, etc.... he gives off a very intense/serious vibe, but once you get to know him, he's not as serious as you would make him out to be.

I wonder how astro.com comes up with most dominant planet & sign etc?? Anyone have any guesses? It says my most dominate planet is Pluto also, but I don't think I am perceived as intense really (perhaps because my most dominant sign is Libra?!) I guess I don't appear that I would be intense outwardly but inside I am, once one gets to know me (I am quite reserved...most of the time...inconsistantly hehe). Here are my less-than-intense Pluto aspects for anyone who's a curious kitty:

Pluto conjunct Sun
Pluto trine Moon
Pluto sextile both Saturn & Neptune
Pluto(and Sun) qunicunx MC

Maybe this has something to do with Pluto being my highest ranked planet: Venus conjunct Uranus in Scorpio. Plus Venus in Scorpio & Pluto in Libra are in mutual reception. I also have an 8th house Moon. So there ya go. No where near as intense as y'all, but thass ok with meee

Welcome! I meant to say welcome! I just squeezed it in there ...

But also wanted to say, the part you said,

quote:
"... if you keep trying to shove your pluto in a shadow it's going to come out somewhere! you could end up meeting scary, intense people or find that people are scared of your own intensity. but when you integrate it you will find that you attract people who appreciate that side of you. the same goes for any other planet not integrated in your personality."

I just love that and hope to hear a lot more from you.

Wow! I was just thinking about Pluto.

Pluto in the 1st
Pluto Conjunct Ascendant
Pluto Square Sun
Pluto Square Mars
Pluto Sqaure Venus
Pluto Sextile Moon
Pluto Sextile Mercury
Sun, Mars, Venus conjunct

It's funny because I'm sorrounded by water people, most of them Scorps.

Do the Pluto in the 1st ppl also notice this need for constant change on a personal level? I'm never content w/myself. I always have to change whether it's every year or every month.
