You know how you hear some people say, when they were very young and saw someone do such-and-such, and they just KNEW that's what THEY wanted to do all their life? And others who saw someone doing something which they wanted to TRY, but they ended up doing something else. How was it for you, and what astrological placements do you think contributed? I'm speaking of those instances where you already have established yourself. Those people who JUST KNEW from way back, and for which it was more than curiousity, and became a satisfactory way of life fascinate me. Of course, keeping in mind there are those who knew, but had to cope with a delay of some sort before becoming established - but became established none the less, and in keeping with the integrity of that initial inspiration. ------------------ ... it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness IP: Logged |

Interesting question.I tend to knew what I'm good at, what my strengths are. I knew when I was very, very young I was good with animals, for example, and that I was smart in certain ways. I also knew I understood music is a speical way. However, knowing what I'm good at adn knowing what I want to do withmy life are too different things for me. As far as what i should do with my life, I've been very uncertain. I feel strongly that I have many gifts, but in terms of wanting or a certain career path or job, I'm a big waffle. I shrink from the idea of being bound in one career path, or being strongly identified socially or molded personally by a job. The idea of conforming to such a social convention strikes dread deep in me, and I'm to exagerrating - I currently in the process of becoming a full-time teacher, and I've been battling depression all the way, because I feel like I'm losing myself to this job. Also, I hate thinking that if I put a lot into one job, I could be missing out on other possibilties. And of course, I have issues with authority. I think a lot if this is due to my singletons - Uranus and Neptune - and how they dominate my chart. Both are parts of this own aspect configuration: Uranus -grand trine, Neptune - multiple opposition. All the other planets in my chart are have major aspects to one my singletons, except my Pisces moon, which is ruled by sign by Neptune. It's like there's no escape in my chart from these singletons. From Uranus I get this overly intense need to be autonomous, independant, undefined, unattached, uncommitted, unconventional. From Neptune I get a poor sense of time (especially the future), an extremely open nature that's impressionable and easily overwhelmed, a fragile mental/psychic boundary between myself and others that's easily breached, deep spiritual yearnings that are always restless and cannot be quieted by mundane things (like job security and a paycheck) and a deep need to be open and probing of possibilties. Overall, I'm not exactly career material in any conventionial sense. It's only because that at 35, I have my back to the wall financially, so I'm making the big leap into a career of teaching. If there was any other way, I won't be doing this. I have ot keep telling myself I'm having to make compromises today in order to be able to do other things with my life in the future. However, doing this has required me to resist hard my deep Uranian tendencies and Neptunian senstivities. IP: Logged |

Yes, actually the key is all in the 6th, 10th, Ascendant, 1st House, and ruling planet of the ascendant sign.------------------ Virgo Rising, Sagittarius Sun, Pisces Moon IP: Logged |

I wish I were one of those people who knew from the start what career they wanted. It would probably cost me a lot less trying out all these different schools, courses and jobs. But then I wouldnt have had all these other learning experiences along the way. Im debating whether I should continue teaching...I think I will for at least a year or so...or if I should study part time for a masters degree while supply teaching...or just jump into law school and leave teaching (for now?). Im not convinced about law school though. Two of my friends are in a 3 year law school program and their optimistic about how they'll apply their degrees...but Im worried I wont get to do what I want after I get my law degree, and that this degree wont be as worth as I think. The only thing I absolutely knew without doubt from being able to pick up a pen was that I wanted to write. I was the school magazine editor, I wrote pages and pages of stories and dairies from being eight, I started my own magazine at 16.... Eventually, at 31, I was given my own newspaper column, which I have been doing now for nearly five years. I also write travel articles. This I completely put down to my very full fifth house. Most of the planets in the fifth house are in scorpio but mercury and neptune are there in saggy, and this I think indicates the writer in me. However, my MC is pisces and there is the side of me that wants to care/heal/help. That is why I do voluntary work for the Samaritans and am currently training to be a therapist.------------------ SCORPIO SUN 5TH HOUSE ASCENDANT CANCER CANCER MOON 12TH HOUSE IP: Logged |

I did not know what I wanted to do…or more accurately, couldn’t decide. From wanting to be a school teacher to nurse to astronomer, zoologist, vet. After all that I just knew I liked maths…cause it kept my over active mind busy. That was it.I have Neptune in the 10th = confusion with career, I hear that but as long as what I do has something to do with maths, I’m fine. IP: Logged |

I have always wanted a job helping people.. For awhile I wanted to be a nurse, but I decided on being a pediatric therapist. It breaks my heart when I see people disabled or who can't walk, especially younger children.I think this has to do with my Virgo sun & mercury, and Neptune in the 1st. IP: Logged |

How about I was always sure that I never wanted to do anything ??? When I was young I wanted to be teacher, air hostess, pilot, computer engineer, fashion designer, astronaut, etc then I never wanted to be teacher but I got an opportunity where I had to. I went through like where I wanted to do something and then things changed completely.ok I started my career in computers then teaching and now I don't want to do any teaching maybe I would be happy being business administrator or interpretor for a big firm as of now. I would get bored if I did same thing more than 2-3 years I am so sure. Anything which is official or where I can use my language, computer and business skills. I have to still be an air hostess, pilot, fashion designer and astroanut. My MC is in Virgo. My Asc is Sag. I am oh so afraid of taking creative field as career...but I would love to try to just learn those things and know my hidden talents like singing, dancing ballet, writing songs, mixing music, etc. I am not sure what other aspects should be written here. Geminis but also Neptune-influenced people it seems. My MC is in Scorp and Pluto's conjunct it, AC's in Cap. I've been playing with electronics since age 5, computers since 12. Yet engineering and programming seem too linear to be interesting anymore. Thank goodness astrology and psychology still are though. I don't know what I'll do either after developing this business if it works out. I'm definitely bored with regular 9 to 5 jobs though and wouldn't do one if it can be avoided. FFLL's idea of becoming therapist sounds really appealing though

I knew what I wanted to do at the age of six and prayed every night until the age of 10 for God to make me an artist. I was unbelievably focused as a child and felt "called", but when I turned 18 and went to the wrong art school everything fell apart ( I'm still doing the art) but I let self-doubt get in the way and I questioned every decision I made and second guessed everything. It's still a major problem for me even at 43. Decision making and risk taking are a struggle for me. I should be much more successful at this point in my life - I'm highly skilled but don't get the recognition and I'm finally paid fairly decently (FINALLY) but I always worry in the back of my mind - what if...Sun Cancer 12th house mercury Cancer 12th house nn Cancer 12th house Leo rising Pluto, Uranus, Mars virgo 2nd house neptune Scorp 4th house Saturn Aqua 7th house moon, chiron, Pisces 8th house Jupiter Aries 9th house Venus Cancer 11th house Aries MC

I NEVER, being a fish chick, knew what I "wanted to do with my life." Until....My first Saturn return and my 2nd daughter born under the Sun sign of Aquarius was born with a severe heart defect. I was FASCINATED with the medical industry, the technology and the healing arts. I soon left my long career as a banker and went to nursing school and now I love my job as an ICU RN. Not only do I love the technology of the transplant ICU I work in, but I am a holistic healer and heal the soul first, then the mind, then the body. Pisces Sun, Venus in the 4th Aquarius Saturn, Mercury, Jupiter, Mars in the 3rd Scorpio ASC Taurus moon in the 6th And... I am writing a book about my deep connections that I make with my patients. What can I say? It is all in my natal chart and my transits!!! COOL TOPIC! IP: Logged |

I am a Sag sun, rising, mars & jupiter so travel & cultures are in my blood. I had a sort-of career as an admin/assistant in my early 20's but didn't love it. I was going through my Saturn return and my life was changing considerably (lost my mom and a baby, divorce - you get the picture) and was sitting waiting for a doctor's appointment, wondering what I was going to do with my life - I saw a college course for travel careers...I knew without a doubt that was what I would do...and here I am as a corporate travel consultant. It's stressful at times, but I get to travel!!! IP: Logged | |
