Parallel and contraparallel are aspects in the declinations which are latitude celestial equator coordinates.
When points are within 1 degree and on the samde side of the celestial equator, they are parallel. If points are within 1 degree and on opposite sides of the celestial equator, they are contraparallel.
examples
Mars 5 degrees south
Neptune 6 degrees south
That is Mars parallel Neptune with 1 degree orb
Jupiter 8 degrees south
Neptune 9 degrees north
That is Jupiter contraparallel Neptune with 1 degree orb
I don't use parallels unless they also conjunct in declination longitude equivalent chart. I don't use contraparallels unless they also oppose in declination longitude equivalent chart.
I take declinations seriously, and so I use them in all charts. Even declination midpoints can be important. Cosmobiologists have used declination midpoints.
I feel that the declinations are underused in Astrology. I just don't see the sky as 1 dimensional, and so I believe that declinations should be used and not just used the ecliptic longitude coordinates which are the zodiac sign placements. I would be open to see how right ascension(longitude celestial equator coordinates) and ecliptic latitude coordinates works in charts too.
