I mean, the kind of rage not native to a Natal Chart, but rather, the kind which has built up at some point in the Natal. The kind of temporary rage so young in it's evolution, that the Natal person knows deep down it is blind passionate love with yet unclear difinition or direction.

What Transits give that initial start, which sort of triggers the Natal Chart to take notice and seek a transitory meaning, which is unique to each person.

Thanks.

Hmm...good question Astro...i'll give you my list:

Venus in the 5th House in hard aspect to Mars in the 8th house

Pluto conjunct Mars in the 12th House of Libra or Taurus Cusp

Venus Conjunct Pluto in Pisces 7th house cusp with both in hard aspect to Mars in the 3rd house.

Oh and astro...I put my chart with the points...lucifer in leo/12th, etc on my thread "The 12th House". But its not on the first page anymore. You can still see it of course.

Pluto conjunct North Node, opposing Moon/Venus/South Node, squaring Mars in Pisces - years ago.
Uranus conjunct Mars was another in which a lot of anger came out.

Dear AJ,

I am going to go out on a limb here and say transits to the 1st house -- the area of life most concerned with the beginning of a cycle, the initial step or stage in the process of becoming. Particularly a transit of Mars or Uranus there, I would think.

Didn't Ernest Hemingway commit suicide when Mars hit his AC? I think I read that somewhere, though I can't remember where.

I think though, as they always say, that nothing can manifest that is not indicated in the natal. So the people most susceptible to a blind, passionate rage would be those with strong 1st house emphasis, strong Aries, strong Mars...perhaps strong Pluto. My sister is an Aries Sun/Mercury/Venus rx (in 7th) and she's got Pluto rising (Libra Asc, conjunct mine). She's prone to blind fits of anger/passion -- her Arien side is very noticeable when dealing with others (all her Aries stuff in 7th, no doubt).

I don't know if this really helps you any, AJ.

Oh, I did come across this thing on transits recently, and I'll share this with you because it is very interesting. In fact, after reading this over and thinking about it, it occurs to me that the situation you describe could very well occur when one has a strong, developmental transit such as T Uranus on n Mars for instance...and then a trigger transit comes along and activates it, such as t Mars conjoining t Uranus on one's n Mars.

I don't know, anyone else?

Here's the thing on transits:

The main types of transits

There is a whole range of different kinds of transits, influencing us in different ways. They enter into our lives through different levels of our psyches and realities. Largely, something which is coming through from a very deep place, which has a potentially fundamental impact on our being, has to come through slowly in order for us to be able to deal with the full implications of it. As someone once said: "Time is what stops everything happening all at once". The slower, outer planets have a deeper effect on us. On the other hand, life is also made up of quick successions of faster transits, giving character to our daily lives and all their panegyrations. Slow, root-level transits never take place in isolation: a T Neptune opposition Sun takes nine months to go through its climax, building up over a period of at least three years, unravelling its effects over a further three years afterwards – yet the specific forms in which these basic issues are raised and tested in our lives will be precipitated by the faster transits getting caught up in the major, slower configuration. Thus, while we shall separate out different kinds of transits below, they interlock like big and small cogs in the building up of the sumtotal of our experience.

* Fundamental lifecycle transits
These affect all of us, at roughly similar times in life. Lifecycle transits start later on. These transits mark a major turning-point in our lives, with considerable impact on our psychology. Uranus, Neptune and Pluto lifecycle transits affect the evolution of our inner awareness, and the contact between soul and personality. Chiron transits can vaary in occurrence, depending on its speed at different times of life. Notable, however, is the Chiron return at age 50-51.

* Structural lifecycle transits
These involve Jupiter and Saturn. Jupiter forms quartile aspects (conjunction, square, opposition, square) to natal Jupiter every three years, and Saturn forms such aspects every 7 years to N Saturn. Jupiter returns (conjunctions) take place around the ages of 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 and 84. Saturn returns around 28, 56 and 84. The oppositions are also important as climaxes to these cycles. Jupiter oppositions take place at 6, 18, 30, 42, 54, 66, 78 and 90. Saturn oppositions take place at 14, 42ish and 70ish. These transits bring up issues around how we organise the forms of our lives, life's work, social position, finances, ventures, commitments and sense of selfhood. They concern our commitments to certain lines of action and life-strategy.

* Psycho-spiritual transits
These are transits by outer planets to other natal outer planets, which can take place at various irregular times. An example is Uranus' cycle of transits to one's natal Chiron, Neptune or Pluto. There are generational similarities here, though – for example, many nowadays experience a T Pluto conjuncting N Neptune around age 26-30, or a T Neptune opposition N Uranus around age 35-40. The timings of these are more of an individual matter, though. It is interesting also to watch how outer planets can 'work over' successive generations: Uranus, transiting through Capricorn-Aquarius-Pisces in current decades, progressively opposes the natal Pluto of successive generations. Transits such as these do not directly affect life's visible issues and mundane questions, but they do affect our innermost psyches and what is unfolding in the unconscious. People who are tuned into their dreams, their inner dynamics, psychic selves or creative inspiration will experience and make use of these transits more awarely, while others might experience uncomfortable feelings deep down which have no explanation or obvious relation to life circumstances – nightmares or 'funny feelings'. These transits open up channels within.

* Major transformative transits
These involve major transits by outer planets to major points in the chart, such as Sun, Moon, Saturn or any any focal planets in the chart. A T Pluto conjuncting or opposing N Sun, Moon or Saturn is definitely one of the biggest crunches a person can encounter, usually precipitating such a major change that life after that time can be radically different from life before it. It seems as if everything is coming up and being forced through change: this is a major core-issues life-initiation with no qualms. Conjunctions and oppositions by Uranus or Chiron can also bring major twists of life which impact majorly on our whole life-cycle. Square, trine and sextile aspects to natal Sun, Moon or Saturn are important too, provoking root-level changes which mark major potential breakthroughs and watersheds. All these transits have the effect of connecting us with important inner strands from other lives, or instructions from our deeper selves, expressing an urge from the soul to emerge into the open and do its work through our personality – which sometimes can be an initially-threatening experience for our little egos! Other times it can be a welcome liberation. Usually it's a mixture of both.

* Transformative transits
These are still very major transits, but they affect facets of our lives rather than core and root questions. These aspects involve outer planet transits to natal angles (ascendant, nadir, descendant and zenith) and to Meercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter. An outer planet major aspect to N Venus, for example, can have a deeply stirring effect on our love life, and has the capacity to rock an existing loving relationship, forcing a choice to re-enliven it or change it, while for someone lacking love it can involve a healing of a hurt heart and a rejoining of the human race. Such a transit to N Jupiter can make for a tremendous leap of faith, a new outreach of self to world, an investment of energy in a fundamentally new venture, a change of values, even a religious or cosmological awakening – but still, while it can feel as if everything is at stake when such a transit is afoot, in fact, we are working on one part of our being.

* Transformative house transits
When one of the outer planets ingresses into a new house in a natal chart, spending some time chugging through it (years to decades), the area of life symbolised by that house will be fundamentally affected, ploughed over, re-evaluated and re-modelled, and lessons to be learned and changes of approach will be precipitated. Pluto in house IX will provoke big changes of outlook, possibly through travelling, education, inner quests, shocks or social engagements which change our ways of seeing things. Uranus in IV will disrupt our stable relations with security-sources, home territory and sense of our own personal selfhood. Chiron in VII might bring into our lives people and relationships which reflect the shadow in us, causing us initial trouble or eventual healing, or giving us situations and companions which facilitate discovery of what we unconsciously project on others. Outer planets crossing any of the four angles stimulate important changes in our activity and situation in the world, a shift of themes and often of circumstances too.

* Major structural transits
When Saturn or Jupiter form aspects to natal planets and positions, we take a step in formulating our social and worldly identity more clearly, developing our work, career and standing, organising our lives and playing the roulette-wheel of society and economics. If you have a T Saturn conjunct N Moon it is essential to accept the events and tendencies taking place, and to acknowledge that you alone have created them – in this case, possibly financial, health or domestic difficulties, sense of failure, depression or deprivation – for through acknowledging this you will see what the issues are, and through resolving matters concerning support, needs and security, you will be able to make a decisive change for the better. If you have a T Jupiter square N Saturn it is auspicious to face up to things, make new or further commitments to what you know you have to do, and get on with it, for the tide is in your favour if you push it a bit – but if you wait for or blame others, delay or evade the issue, circumstances will tend to come down on you and force issues into the open. These transits pass quicker than the transformative ones abbove, sometimes in one, sometimes in three steps, but they have a big effect on life-directions and longterm plans and purposes, activity, roles, work and prosperity. Transits of Saturn and Jupiter through houses features these houses strongly: Jupiter will favour growth, precipitation of events and extension in the area of life shown by the house, and Saturn will oblige confrontation with our fears and blockages in that area, requiring consolidation and the decisive overcoming of obstacles. Major steps are made when either of these planets crosses one of the four angles. When one such transit supplements itself to an outer-planet transformative transit, sparks can fly!

* Mercury, Venus and Mars transits
These are faster, lasting days or a week or two, depending on the transit and the speed of the planet. Occasionally, if a retrograde period is involved, this can become a longer process. Lesser aspects involving these planets can sometimes be difficult to perceive, in the effects they have on our lives, but major aspects are very distinguishable. These transits strongly affect our states of being, but they pass quickly, and while sometimes bringing up specific instances in which something must be resolved, fundamental changes depend on the involvement of outer planets, either by transit or in the chart. For example, if you have a T Mars conjunct N Pluto, a power-struggle could ensue, or frustration can emerge, lasting a few days, but having no longer term effect unless underpinned by a deeper transit, or unless one is consciously digging up Plutonine issues. If you have a Mercury opposition Jupiter, your mind could be buzzing, or it might be auspicious to make a journey or connect up with someone or something offering the promise of something good, but this will not have a drastically major effect in your whole life unless there is something deeper going on which this transit latches into. Keep your eyes on house transits of these planets too.

* Solar transits
These happen regularly once a year. In fact, if you look at your aspect table, you are looking at a programmed sequence of aspects which the Sun passes through annually (together with each other planet in its own period of orbit). It is well worth studying these yearly patterns, for you will be able to develop a feel for the kinds of experiences involved, which you caan then apply to your understanding of the transits of other planets. You can look into cycles of unfoldment involving, say, T Sun to N Mars, which start at the conjunction and climax at the opposition. When Sun is conjuncting a natal planet, you are in your own territory, and things work your way, while when it is opposing that planet, your way comes in question, and it is worth looking at others' ways of moving that planet's energy. The regularity of solar transits makes them very useful for tuning in to the feeling behind your natal planets and positions. Note also that solar transits through houses and over angles can be very revealing, for they feature that house or angle in a yearly personal cycle which repeats itself. If you wish, you can look over the past several years and examine the way you have, for example, tackled your twelfth house, together with the different kinds of feelings and experiences you have picked up in relation to it.

* Lunar transits
These are rapid, lasting hours, or at most one day. Even then, you can go through various changes of mood in relation to the issues at stake. For example, a T Moon conjunct N Jupiter might, which can often crreate a friendly and nurturing atmosphere, can start by beeing quite alienating or 'lacking something'. A pleasant evening can be had with friends, or a cheque can come through the post. Major moonphases are well worth watching too: if a new or full moon falls in square to your Mars it might be best to exercise patience, let people know what you want but avoid biting their heads off! If a halfmoon falls on your ascendant, it's time to do something for your own benefit, to choose to follow your own instincts and quit waiting around for the blessings or support of others. For a few days.

* Transits of planets to themselves
The cycle of relationship of a transiting planet to itself in your chart reveals how your natal planet works, and it moves through its phases and facets. T Venus trine N Venus can give an alright feeling about life, with everything flowing smoothly and effortlessly, while T Venus square N Venus could bring temporary dryness of heart, dinginess, resentment, or a need to work on a relationship. When you have a T Mars sextile N Mars things might go your way, but you might encounter rivalry or envy when you have T Mars opposition N Mars – yet it is still your Mars which is in operation and manifesting these circumstances. The solar return (birthday) is a coming-together of selfhood, giving an opportunity for an overview of the year and of your general progress, while the solar opposition can bring much into question about your way of being, with some necessary adjustments called for.

Thank you teaselbaby.

chrissymgreen -

The way that post on Transits was layed out
was something I was always trying to envision in my head! Perfect for me, thank you, and keeping that and the Developmental Transit in mind as I respond...

I understand completely what you mean about looking at the 1st, it's like a new "coming out" fighting to exist. That's not here, but the more I study this Chart to figure this out, the more I see the symphony of astrological phenomenon causing the irritating tone which caught my full attention !!! Not of my doing, I'm back to face my "jinxed 4th House" issues head-on, again ...

For anyone reading this, nothing of what I found can help explain anything that's happening in your personal Charts. At least, I'd be really surprised. For chrissymgreen, or anyone else who can follow my 4th House issues, here it goes ...

These all happening at the same time :::

* Developmental Transits
- T Sun combining with an already T Saturn in my 4th
- Combined T Mercury & Venus honing in on already combined T Sun & Saturn in my 4th
- T Mars beginning to enter my 5th House
- T Uranus beginning to enter my 11th House

* Notable Aspects to Transits
- T Pluto Trine N Uranus
- N Pluto Opposite T Uranus
- T Moon entering Cancer, my N Moon in Cancer at 26 Degrees

* Facts to help tie together
- The 4th House Rules the Moon & Cancer
- N Stellium Mars Ruled by Pluto
- Focal Point of Moon/Saturn T-Square, Ruled by Pluto
- N Mars Sextile N Uranus
- Singleton Uranus in Leo in the 4th
- Uranus Rules Aquarius which is Opposite Leo
- N 10th House Cusp & N South Node in Aquarius
- The 10th House Rules Saturn
- 4th House Cusp in Leo
- N Uranus Conjunct N NN in Leo
- True "h13" Lilith in Leo in the 4th
- N Venus Conjunct N Pluto in the 4th

How this pertains to my 4th House issues?

* Mars is the major player in my Chart, part of a Stellium, Transiting Mars enters my 5th House which Rules Leo, which Rules my Uranus Singleton in my 4th.

* Transiting Uranus begins to enter my 11th House.

* My Sun is in the 5th House, Opposite the 11th House.

And the cherry on top is, Transiting Saturn over my 4th House issues creating tons more restrictive tension, activating an already tense Moon in Cancer/Saturn in Capricorn T-Square Opposition.

This was more an exercise and study for myself, but appreciate any feedback ...

Dear AJ,

I looked over the data you provided...and I noticed a couple things:

1. The current Mercury/Saturn combo in Leo opposed by Neptune in Aqua is locking in your MC/IC axis. This combo is not something to take lightly -- last year Mercury opposed Neptune with Mars square, and Katrina came. Now Mercury with Saturn in Leo is opposing Neptune Aqua (18°). This came from a board I regularly check with information on current configurations:

"Are you disoriented? Can't find answers? Don't know how to promote your next career step (Leo)? Do you want to fall asleep and wake up in the next century? Would you dare? Do you happen to forget your own phone number?

Mercury-Neptune makes you dyslexic for a while because the right brain can override left brain functions and take control from you. The challenge is to find balance between left and right. Thus, stay conscious but don't be attached to habits. Open up to diversion...or even...absurdity!

Living the absurd is living according to 'anything can happen' -- the most far fetched and the most boring. There is no predictibility since there is less control.

Yes, you are subject to easy brainwashing during this time -- simultaneously, you can also decondition your mind and dare admit you don't know.

Bottom line: we already have Saturn/Neptune chaos testing our sanity...with Mercury, the planet of sanity, sandwiched in the middle of these giants...pffff...don't be surprised if Elvis or God talks to you! Try to take it easy.

But it is also time for great adventure and the unexpected! Time for creativity of the peculiar kind. Time for crazy wisdom indeed: anything can happen..."

2. I noticed trans Uranus just passed the opposition with your natal Venus/Pluto in the 4th. The astrologer I've been doing some correspondence work with taught me that it is not only important to look at what planets (and what houses) are being stimulated, but also at the nature and condition of the particular transiting planet IN the natal chart (in other words, the natal chart comes 1st and foremost). So by this I mean when considering the transit of Uranus opposing your Venus/Pluto, we must look at where Uranus is at and what it's doing in the natal. Here it resides in the 4th conjunct BML and the NN, and it is the SN ruler. This tells us that this consciousness is continuing to work on issues dealt with previously (SN ruler conjunct NN), and there is a kind of screaming black hole surrounding the NN lessons (NN conjunct Lilith) -- there is a need to be heard, to be genuine and to be recognized as such. It's helpful to think of it as a story, the planets tell a story -- the limitations, restrictions and fears of Saturn cause the wound, Chiron is the location of the wound, and the disconnect of Uranus is the result. Wherever Uranus is there is a wound--something was torn away, something is missing. When Uranus is on an angle or angular, this tearing is/was very painful and immediate. Uranus in the 4th almost feels as if there is a wound so deep it's hard to get to (4th as house of private self). "I" whoever "I" is is hard to access, hard to define. This makes it really difficult for a person to connect to her power, because the deep-seated identity is not experienced as anything personal. This deep "I" is identified by whatever it is not, whatever was taken away. With Lilith there and the NN, you can see how this would cause a wound so deep, so hard to access, and yet extremely important for growth/nodal balance. Does this make any sense?

So trans Uranus opposing your Venus/Pluto (Venus is your chart ruler, isn't it? I seem to remember you said you had late Taurus rising once...) is activating your Uranus/NN/Lilith issues (Who am I, *really*?), and this is changing your sense of self (Uranus opposing chart ruler). The area of life where all this Uranus activity is most evident is the 10th house, because you have Aqua on the 10th cusp. The 10th is about our most public selves (calling), so while Uranus is changing your sense of self (opposition to chart ruler), it is also affecting you visibly: it's changing the way you relate to the world at large, the image you wish to present to the world.

Another thing to note is that trans Uranus was opposing your Venus/Pluto. From Michael Munkasey on the difference between opposition & squares --

The square aspect forming by transit, SA or progression represents a learning opportunity while the opposition asks that you carefully consider what you are doing and the possible consequences.

And you're right, it's a developmentally challenging time for you with the Saturn combo near your IC heading to your Uranus/NN/Lilith, Jupiter on your 6th stellium, and Neptune/Ceres on your MC.

Well...I hope this is helpful in some way, at least.

Chrissy

Definitely Mars/Pluto transits, or anything that is combined with the two Mars/Uranus, Pluto/Moon. That Mars/Pluto as an aspect is far from being just ducky!

...and plain anger (not love) can also be caused by a square or conjunction between Saturn and Mars. I had the conjunction about 5 years ago and it was chafing and frustrating and it made me angry.

At the moment, it's not so much that I've been carrying around this mystery for so long, but more, that something is being in my Chart which is forcing me to resolve it head-on. Maybe reflective of the "not something to take lightly".

So weird when you ask if I'm disoriented, etc., because that's how I was about 2 weeks ago. (Those weird lags in time) ... I usually give credit to my Stellium on this. The blessing/curse, if you will. I guess I've reached a comfortable balance between "left brain, right brain".

So many times I've said, sometimes I feel like a "Blackhole Sun" - and I always connect it back to my NN Leo issues. Blah ... what a mess ...

This deep "I" is identified by whatever it is not

Rev. Alice just told me basically the same thing, that I'm better at seeing what I'm NOT through others, rather than seeing what I AM through others. And the part about not being easily connected to my natural universal powers.

And yes to the "growth/nodal balance" importance. It's not a choice.

Well, you said a mouth-full, and once again, thank you so much for your time. You help with the tough questions, and me like

You're right about the (not love) ...

But that's a given when you take the rest of my Chart into account. I don't know how you deal with Scorpio energies.
