Thank you GN for saying it. It's been a little out of control in here lately and I can't really understand where all the negativity is coming from. Some people are coming across as extremely hostile and judgemental. It needs to stop.

I don't like being referred to as incompetent in Astrology because I don't agree with what somebody said. I never said that he was wrong nor was he right.

I don't like being pidgeonholed and being judged by one placement in my chart either or by my chart for that matter. I don't do that to people either. I wouldn't be an astrologer if I did that crap.

Lets treat others like we want to be treated.
That's all I ask in here.

Don't judge our characters without knowing us.

I feel obligated to defend myself. I am a strong believer in self defense.

If Martin Luther King Jr and other blacks didn't stand up for themselves, there wouldn't be any civil rights for colored people like me.

Martin Luther King Jr had a dream of that we be judged by the content of our character and not the color of our skin.

Well..I have a dream of that we be judged by the content of our character and not our charts!

Hmmm... I prefer to hear exactly what someone has to say.

Holding back is a shame.

There are a$$holes everywhere, and this being an internet forum, where our words go down into history for all of the world to read, then all of these jerks will reveal themselves, verbatim, to the masses.

Divine Goddess picked one heck of a fight, and being as rude as it was, she only proved to show the entire internet that she has chosen to be a cruel ass.

I put my thoughts and opinions out there, and in doing so, I know I need to defend myself against anyone who wants to make a fight out of it. This is an open forum, and nothing would annoy me more than to have a thread closed and be denied the opportunity to retort and backup my words.

Likewise, as a third-party observer, I would hate to be denied the opportunity to see how someone else would handle an instigator's verbal attack.

I, for one, welcome all opinions and all words. If I deserve it, then congrats to whoever called me on it. If I don't deserve it, then my attacker proves to everyone that they're absurd and uncalled for, and everyone can laugh at their pretentious hostility.

As a newbie, I can definately see where this post is coming from.

When I first found this site, I was extremely happy to find what I thought were like-minded souls intent on helping one another along. I probably read just about every post in every forum.

Then I asked a question on the astrology board. The reply I received made me cry. Never in my life had I ever been talked to like I was a worthless peice of crap, until I posted a question on this board. I seriously considered never returning.

I felt like an outsider and that the 'regulars' here had open disdain for anyone that did not know as much as them. It took me about 2 days to shake off some of the nasty comments I recieved from my first post here. (For the record, my first post had to do with retrogrades, nothing too controversial-- or so I thought.)

Let me just say to everyone, that unkind words create a ripple effect. When hurtful things are said, the feelings generated from those words will be passed along to others. If you call someone an idiot, that person might get upset and take it out on another. You may never know how much your words will affect someone. That is why I try my best to always be kind. I don't want to live with the bad karma.

The majority of the people on this board are real nice and friendly, but unfortunately there are always the bad apples like with everything else in this world that make it rough and upsetting. And yes astrology is one of the most openminded and expanded topics, which is why I came to this board (to get together with people with similiar thinking and views) Usually the good apples outweigh the bad ones though.

what a good question.
I have to say that, I feel some people take the term "freedom of speech" way, way, WAY too far.
I mean it's one thing to give an opinion or disagree with someone or something, it's another to be a turd about it.
personally I was raised that if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all. I'm not gonna lie and say I ALWAYS live by this rule but I do try to take others feelings into consideration before I speak my mind.
To tell you the truth I usally don't comment if I don't agree or like a thread, that is unless I see others being attacked for no reason or unfairly. Of course I will always stick up for myself but even then I try to be polite about it.
Maybe that's what lindaland needs, alittle consideration for your fellow knowflakes.

Also I'm pretty sure everyone here has a back button on their browser, if you don't like a thread, all you have to do is push that button and you are back on the board. Then you can ignore it (like I do when I don't agree or like a thread) I just don't find it worth my time to get that worked up over things that are said here or anywhere for that matter. Seems alittle off, I know as I ramble on and on here. So anywho I hope everyone will keep in mind when upset by things here at lindaland that there are other options then to be nasty, rude, or turd like to others. Peace be with you all.

Regarding defensiveness: I've been personally attacked over things I posted here, by a Capricorn who researched all my posts.

That kind of nagging and criticizing never stopped bothering me. I can't answer personal questions about myself anymore.

shadowystorms

i am so sad that someone has replied, to a person who is obviously feeling bad already, so horrendously. most of the people on this forum and nice and kind and helpful. even if you ask, silly questions.
look at how many nice people have responded to negate the bad response.
hope you are having a better day.
sending love and good wishes.

Hey, I am a Virgo and when my planet starts going backwards, Everything and everybody seems to do a doubletake. We've been in Retrograde, so things may have gotten a little broken down in Communication. This happens with Mercury more than any other planet and seems almost every month. Let's blame it on Mercury!!
