I'm getting ready to dorm for my first year at college and my dad totally scared me about what I'd experience. He was reading Business Week or something and there was an article about going to college and college terms like "sexile" where you basically get kicked out of your room because your roommate's having sex.
I'm so scared now, I'm all about cartoons, kittens and puppies, Disney princesses and everything. Honestly, I had never thought of what would be going on in the dorm rooms... But now I'm so scared and I move in on Friday!! *sob* I just needed to let that out because I have no one to tell..

Hey there illusions_fool!

I say don't worry. Everyone has anxiety over a big change like you're getting ready to go through. To tell you the truth it will probably be way different then you are imagining. and you won't know until you get there. Try not to freak yourself out too much because it will only make the days leading up to it worse on you. You will probably meet some new people who are just like you and you will change and have so many great experiences. don't worry about what might be going on in dorm rooms because you will probably be so busy with your own stuff that it won't matter. Don't be worried. Most of the time that happens between dudes sharing a room. Lay down the law with your roommate (s) and let her know you won't stand for it.

If it gets bad- ask your Resident Advisor for a transfer to another room.

I didn't have that problem because I attended a Lutheran University.. no members of the opposite sex allowed in after curfew and no being under the blanket together period LOL...

I am sure you have enough anxiety.. take a deep breath.. it will be okay

Lol, what can I say, I'm kind of childish?
I just don't think I'm ready to be exposed to the adult world... I'm hoping I won't have to be but college is kids out of parental advisory, period. Especially the dorming students...
