So, I am curious as to what this might mean. I have Pluto conjunct someone's Part of Fortune. When I say conjunct, I mean they are both at 8'55 exactly in Libra.

Anyone got any ideas?

"Pars Fortunae -

The Part of Fortune, one of the most important of the Arabic Parts. The point lies the same distance in longitude from the ascendant as the Moon lies from the Sun. Its house represents an area of life where one finds happiness and natural tranquility, expressing innate abilities. It indicates an area wherein the self is easily expressed."

"Pluto and the Part of Fortune: If Pluto is conjunct the Part of Fortune, the potency of Pluto will be enhanced in its positive forms. The person with this conjunction can find happiness and success in all forms of detective work, ranging from crime solving to investigating the atom, from studying genetic engineering to manipulating DNA to cure cancer and AIDS. He can study the mysteries of life in order to transform and improve life on Earth for all mankind."

Thanks AJ ~

Yeah I saw one of those definitions before, but I was hoping to find one based in synastry. Also, I was just struck at the exact conjunction at 8 degrees. Would it perhaps mean that the other person's Part of Fortune was putting a happy spin on transformations or giving those transformations a positive boost of energy?

Yeah, the best I could do was try to give some light to how the POF & Pluto energies might work together, which can be somewhat applied.

I could have sworn we've seen POF SYNASTRY Aspect interpretations, full-on.

Will check into it a little more, POF is one of those "minor" Points I sort of keep an eye on. Probably more because it is the most commonly talked about of the Pars.

Will also start thread on the Pars and if see if anyone looks at any of the other Pars with the same degree of success. Just because the Fortune is most common doesn't mean there are not others which would enjoy the same celebrity.

TIP: If you are searching for more on this, keep in mind alternate keyword spellings --

* Fortuna
* Part of Fortune
* Pars Fortunae
* Pars Fortuna
* Pars Fortune
* Part of Fortune
* POF

I found this if you are interested in "Calculating Values" for POF.

www.astrologycom.com/fortuna.html

It links to other tools to calculate Values for other astrological placements as well, and worth taking a look at. So much to learn.

Calculating Values is a value-system designating numerical points for how certain Bodies/Points adjust themselves to a Chart within a specific context.

A given value of more than zero (+0) is considered a "Strength". If the given value is exactly zero (0), it has a neutral effect. Minus zero (-0) is considered a "Weakening" effect. But remember, this within a specified context.

These values are NOT to be construed as making a person stronger or weaker, and it does NOT mean it makes the Chart stronger or weaker. The pre-formatted value reflects the energy of a specific Body/Point within a specific context, and can show "amplification/magnification", or if it has a more neutral effect within a specific context, or if when combined with other variables, tends to be not as strong a focal point of a Chart.

I'd say it's a basic tool astrology students can use to help with the interpretation of a Chart OVERALL.

Maybe a good analogy is when we use
similar "value systems" using the group of terms "Rulership, Fall, Detriment, Exaltation".

"Each planet rules one or more signs, and in each case these are the signs in which the planet can most easily express its innate characteristics. A planet encounters most difficulty in manifesting its energies in the signs of its detriment, which are always the opposite signs to those of its rulership."
